Was there ever any sort of crossover between Master Of Kung Fu and Tomb Of Dracula during their classic runs?

Quick answer: no. The two titles had no plotlines or characters, not even guest stars, in common. The closest they came was Giant-Size Spider-Man, which featured Drac in #1, Shang-Chi in #2.

Curious why you ask!

Well, I'm glad that there wasn't much in the way of forced crossovers back during that time (I'm dropping X-Factor as of this issue because it was shoehorned into the Latest Obligitory Crossover), but on the other hand a Dracula/Fu Manchu war would have been seventeen different kinds of kickass.

You might want to look for an old, early-1970's B-movie called "Deathmaster." The movie features a hippy vampire turning a commune into undead followers. One of the heroes is a martial artist.
I'm embarrassed I even know this stuff...

Not familiar with that one. I'll have to check it out.
Of course, The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_the_7_Golden_Vampires) might be a bit closer to what the first poster was looking for.

I forgot about that one... probably because it was a Hammer film that didn't have Christopher Lee as Dracula. I do remember watching it, though, years ago.

Heh, while I appreciate the recommendations, it was the idea of Dracula and Fu Manchu as they appeared in MOKF and TOD in conflict which each other that appeals to me, in no small part because of the high quality of writing on those two titles in the 70's. Both Dracula and Fu Manchu had, at various times, powerful forces at their disposal, but they were both also capable of long-term, subtle scheming. A war of wills between the two, playing out over time as a long-term subplot, would have been delicious.

They were both different genres. It would have been a bit awkward to have a kung fu - Vampire crossover. It's also possible since some of the characters were on lease they didn't want to have to pay more .

Hey, the funny books, the best ones, are not just about the the art of the possible, but of the impossible. I just read a Kid Montana comic from Charlton (#39) in which our gunslingling hero comes face to face with "The Killer Apes". In Pete Morisi's hands... damn it works. Kung Fu meets Vampires I would completely buy it!

I so enjoyed Tomb of Dracula. And the great Dracula vs Silver Surfer issue was cosmicly kick ass.

In Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Spike killed a Chinese Slayer with superb martial arts skills during the Boxer Rebellion. The episode "Fool For Love" appeared in Season 5. The Dark Horse comic book series featured a non-canon sequel with Spike & Dru that depicted the fallen Slayer's surviving family members orchestrating a failed bid for vengeance.

Hang on.... I'm sure that Peter David will salvage this and resume his high level of writing as soon as this cross-over is over.
I suspect the Lyla Miller/Multiple Man plot line will prove to be quite important!

Come to think of it, MoKF and ToD have several notable similarities: each is about the young relative of an immortal super-villain from English pop lit joining forces with a London-based band of skilled agents led by an elderly, wheelchair-bound foe of said villain. A crossover would've been a natural.

Hmmm. Bram Stoker (1837-1912) and Sax Rohmer (aka Arthur Henry Sarsfield Ward, 1883-1959) were both members of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, a 19th century British magickal society...it's possible that they met towards the end of Stoker's life. Perhaps someone will "discover" the lost collaboration between the two of them...sounds promising...
