Xmas present - Time to decide

Now that a year has passed, I feel that I can comfortably justify buying a console.

I base my purchase decision on "first party exclusives" and I prefer RPGs (any type, action, turn. strategy) and FPS leave me cold.

I've been a fan of Bioware since the days when it used to be intertwined with Black Isle Studios yet at the same time, there's no way I'm picking up games like Call of Duty or Halo (just do nothing for me).

So, knowing those criteria, what exclusives do the consoles have that you loved? (better yet, anyone have a link to a site that lists the exclusives for the current generation?)

You mentioned you liked Bioware and RPGs, then look no further then Mass Effect, amazing game.

How about third person action games, if those are ok with you I'd say Gears Of War, it's good, but it is short and it's very multiplayer driven. Also, it is a FPS, but Bioshock isn't much like Halo or COD, there's a great story and a lot of fun to be had.

Well, that's about it for 360 exclusives, I don't have the other two so can't comment on those

360 has more than that, it's just a lot have been exclusive because no other system was out at the time, or the Wii wasn't powerful enough and no one wanted to bother for the PS3. Like Assassin's Creed. Sure, it came out on both systems, but it is literally unplayable on PS3. Not bad, it just won't play at all, because the new firmware doesn't work with it. PS3 has a few, but very few of them have been actually worth it. Uncharted got some pretty good reviews, and I actually kind of want to play it, but not bad enough to buy a new system right now. Although I hunger somewhat for Metal Gear.

if you like turn based RPGs then Fire Emblem for the Wii is a pretty amazing experience. And since you can play GC games on it this means the incredible Baten Kaitos 1 and 2, very underappreciated RPGS, and Paper Mario TTYD, another stellar turn based thing

The 360 doesn't have that much more exclusives and he/she did ask for exclusives specifically. I would've recommended Assassin's Creed had I known about the PS3 thing, this is the first I'd heard about it

nether am i. i still play my ps2 all the time. if you are getting a 360, & you like rpg's, get obilvion. you wont be dissapointed.

PS3 will have White Knight and FFXIII, Wii will get FFCC, Tales of Symphonia 2 and Chochobo's Dungeon and Xbox 360 Lost Odyssey. I'ìm probably missing a lot here, but you can look at IGN previews and choose RPG as filter

All three consoles have their pros and cons. Good luck trying to find a Wii during the holiday season though. It's the Tickle Me Elmo of 07 with consoles selling past $600 on Ebay.

Ah, I can't believe I forgot, but Ninja Gaiden 2 is coming out next year for 360 exclusively. If you've a fan of action games and don't mind a good, stiff challenge, then this will be you're cup of tea.

PS3 will have Metal Gear Solid 4, though, which will most likely be the best game ever made. A most if you enjoy stealth action or top notch story telling

Oh, that, well I think it'll stay exclusive for a little while at least. Maybe until the end of '08...maybe
