Once again, I thought this was a fun fill-in. I've liked Zinda as a character, but haven't really felt like she's been explored much, so I enjoyed this. There was a lot of silliness to the issue, but also some underlying emotion, so I thought the whole think worked quite well.
The WW II style cover was also great.

Tony's BOP issues have been quite good. I hope DC collects them in their own trade (there should be enough, I think).

I liked Zinda too since she became a member of BoP.
What's not to like...blonde, short skirt, and packs a pair of .45s. ;)

a Character other than Generic driver who adds funny lines they don't give to other people would be nice.
Haven't read the issue yet but thats all she ever was previously on birds. Never really that interested in anything she has done, so if tony can actually give her character I give him a high five for that.

You know what Jonny I am so sick of you. I didn't click on this thread before I read the issue because i didn't want to know what hapened but I saw your name as the last poster and i litterally growned. You never have anything good to say about anything. You haven't even read the issue yet and you are bringing negative comments to the thread. thats why people couldn't stand you over in Gails thread and you still didn't learn your lesson. Didn't you momma tell you if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all."
That said Tony this issue was a fun filled farce. Lots of camp and plenty of action. Im curious about the character false face. there was a male character in the adam west batman tv show named false face, is it a nod to that character or just a coincidence?

Loved the issue, truly. At first I was a little taken back by the art, but it grew on me as I kept reading the issue. The best part about the issue?... The ending. The whole adventure turned out to be more than just some drunken impulse, and I didn't see that coming. The last page was amazing, and the cover was knocked out of the park by Roux, favorite cover to date. Thanks for the great read Mr. Bedard!
And for the rest of ya:

I'll show that I cared what you think if gave evidence that you actually knew what you were talking about. I like and compliant way more stuff in way more threads than the negative stuff I have to say, I am just more aggressive in my distaste for the stuff I don't like.
and it is silly to only say nice things when you you have things you don't like about something. Normally thats considering Lying is as frowned upon by most people. If you think people should lie all the time to make you happy then you have the right to that belief, but I perfer to tell the truth.
In Gail's section for instance just off the top of my head I praised winnick for his Outsiders/Exiles work, Defended Titans East by what I liked about it, Defend Churchill and Turner and I always shared by love for Benes and thats not even trying to name positive stuff I said about people in that section and others.

wow it took me a few minutes to decode your bad spelling in the first paragraph. Its called sugar coating the truth. Not lieing. and you weren't even criticizing the story or writer this time you were criticizing a chacter just so you could have something to say before reading the issue.

I sorry that one word in a whole paragraph being misspelled threw you off for minutes on end.
I also sorry that I offended you because your obviously just lashing out pointlessly because you like Lady Blackhawk and I made a comment you didn't like. Cause honestly you are so over exaggerating things and just come across as trying to be a rude jerk and pick a fight for the sake of it and I really don't want to bite.
Why don't we just leave this thread to BOP discussion instead.

I thought that this was a fun one-in-done story. My only gripe is that I only read about 4~5 DC monthy books right now and there was no explanation/editor's note given for what happened to Big Barda - I assume that it is related to Countdown somehow.

I always liked Zinda. She has this 40's, swing dancing chick vibe to her, but then when the poo hits the fan she carries a really big ass gun in the trunk of the car.
I haven't read #112 yet because of the craziness of Thanks Giving, but overall I have been pretty impressed with your BoP run. After Gail Simone's great run, I was not expecting much on the fill ins, but glad to be proven wrong.

Tony, I LOVED this issue and was seriously jealous that i didn't get to draw it. That said, I think the art was really cute. The enthusiasm on her face was hilarious!
Zinda has really become one of my favourite characters in the DCU. I love the swashbuckeling-ness (!) she adds to the team and the charm of her innocence, being out of time and all. I think you really managed to capture her voice in this issue too. No mean feat!
Nicola.

I think the key to Zinda is how the eras are both the same and different. There's a tendancy to see the past as an overly idealized time, but of course, there was plenty of sex and violence in the 40's, too. Zinda reflects that, and yet also reflects the fact that people thought about it and talked about it differently, and I thought this story captured that.

Nicola,
It's an honor to have you drop by!
I was pretty psyched with how this one turned out. There's something oddly liberating about doing these one-shot adventures.
Hey, Johnny Luck,
If you've read the issue by now, you'll know that I found a way to make Zinda more than just a generic driver with funny lines. Solution: give Zinda her own Generic Driver with funny lines! Piece of cake!
SaintSaucey,
This False-face was definitely a tip of the hat to the character in the old Batman TV show. Speaking of which, I just caught an episode last night. followed by an episode of THE GREEN HORNET! Damn, it's been a lifetime since I saw the Green Hornet. That show rocked! And I love all the old mid-60s cars. and Bruce Lee, too!

Thanks Tony I appreciate the info. I remember thinking that the sixty's batman was the shiznit back in the day. You know what you should totally deffect to dynomite comics and convince them to let you spin of green lantern from their succesfull lone ranger series

I grew up on Batman from the 60s and remember episodes like the one where catwoman has robin tied to a plank above some tigers and batman's stuck in front of two doors one leading to a tiger/one to catwoman, one ep with the mad hatter, one with boomkworm, one with Price as egghead(thought it was when they went from one to two parts with Batgirl and felt really rushed) and I always loved the riddler and Joker/Penguin team up episodes.
and yes Bruce Lee was awesome.
as for the Issue I have a few things to say
1. The art was awesome
2. I still don't care for Zinda, However that being said
3. This issue was amazingly well written and highly entertaining. I was more expecting a flight/plane based thing to celebrate her death but this worked out really well.

At last through the mail this issue came. I enjoyed reading it. Zinda rocks. She has far more spirit and adventure. I swear she deserves her own mini. Great work.

BOP has definitely had a run of good writers on it since I jumped on very late back during One More Day (hey, I was a Marvel zombie...cut me some slack!). Bedard's run had all the things that make him one of my current favorite writers. Every series I read that he's jumped on got a tremendous boost for me.
