New posts sometimes don't show up in threads for a while. On the thread selection page they show that new posts have been added, but when you access the page itself the new posts don't show up.

Normally this is corrected in an hour or so, but today the School Rumble RPG thread has been in Phantom Post mode for more than 6 hours (and is still ongoing).

What happens when the phantom post phenomena occurs? Is it auto-corrected by the server, should someone be informed of it, or what?

It is due to the server back-up/maintenance that happens from 12 AM to 1 AM.

Thanks. So how can it be corrected? I heard from a couple of others to keep posting and that eventually sets it right. Is it true, or is it some other factor that determines how long phantom post mode lasts?

The server back-up/maintenance needs to take place in order to keep things running correctly. The admins are looking into the matter, but for now, the "phantom posts" will have to be lived with.

Sometimes, though, it'll keep happening until a new page is started in the thread.

It's kind of the CBR Forums' version of "The Bleed."

I occasionally have the opposite problem: the post shows up in the thread, but there's no indication on the thread selection page. Not a big deal, but I thought I'd give a heads up. (My apologies if it's been mentioned.)
