I was looking at some Charlton Popeye comics at Milehigh and noticed for issue 134 there was a British edition.
However I don't see any difference between these two cover scans.

Also I noticed there is a little black circle with a white star in it on some Charlton covers.
Does anyone know what the star means?

I know nothing but I can tell you that the few UK Charlton "Ghost Manor" comics I have also feature that star
Probably not much help that.
As for both scans looking the same I'm sure you're right. Probably a case of someone at Mile High Comics accidentally putting the wrong scan up on the US edition. Maybe???

I agree. It's just a mistake on MH's part.
However it makes me question if there ever was any difference between US and UK Charltons.
I think the issues I bought on the stands here in the US also had the UK price on them.

ROK,
However it makes me question if there ever was any difference between US and UK Charltons.
Not that I ever noticed, and I was buying U. S. comics from newsagents at the time.
U. S. comics were distributed here with three variations in British cover pricing method:
1. U. S. copies with price stamps added by the U. K. distributor
2. Copies printed as part of the standard print run with a U. K. price replacing the U. S. one
3. Standard copies with three prices on - U. S., Canadian and U. K. (IIRR - DC did this in the 1980s) (I've just checked and I do RR - lookat the price box on this 1985 DC (http://www.comics.org/coverview.lasso?id=40397&zoom=4).
At the time that Popeye came out, Marvel was being distributed by World Distributors with U. K. coverprice printing, and Thorpe & Porter were price-stamping (8p in '75, IIRR) DC, Charlton and Atlas. If I knew where I could find some Charltons from '75 easily, I'd see if I had any with a price stamp on as well as the U. K. price printed.
Just noticed that that Popeye is from 1976 with a U. K. price of 10p, incidentally.

Are you sure? If you check out the issue before the one you mentioned (here (http://milehighcomics.com/cgi-bin/backissue.cgi?action=fullsize&issue=62886525323%20133)), it is a US copy and it's missing the 10p price. In fact, it doesn't seem to have any price on it at all

The earliest Charlton comic I own is Ghost Manor #43 from June 1979 and it has both US and UK prices printed on it...

No, I thought you were sure:)
The 25 cent price is in the pie wedge of the Bullseye.
I think.

Oops...my bad. You're absolutly right. I must be blind.
But still, there's no UK price on it.
