Reminds me of Halo 3. Wish I could get one of those for yard work & snow shoveling in the winter!

Do a google on military exoskeleton. Multiple companies have been developing these things for ages.

Alcoholic Billionaires not included. Some parts can cause a choking hazard.

Merry Christmas!

As mentioned before, Exosuits have been in "development" since forever.

Heinlein's Starship Troopers has always been a huge influence on military designers.

I look at this and then I look at the suit he wears in the comics and it's capabilities.

It's.......still gonna take a loooooong time to get to the "Iron Man" level of tech but this is very promising. It more resembles the loaders from the Aliens movie alot more though.

In the future, this will eventually bite us in our butts.

Soldier: "Man, I gotta take a dump! Suit: RELEASE!"

Suit: "I'm sorry David but i can't do that"

Soldier:" WTF, RELEASE!!!"

I can't imagine those would be very useful for the cost... I mean that seems to do nothing but improve hand to hand combat.

Looks cool though, I want one.

hand-to-hand combat? That didn't even come up. Though I suppose it might. I think the main advantage is lifting and moving heavy supplies without tiring, maybe clearing the area of heavy obstructions, carrying heavy gear. etc.

You know what I mean... hand to hand combat not the best description but the majoirty of its features where to improve the strength of the wearer.

I can't imagine that's a huge feature that is needed in modern warfare, compared to the massive cost I'd imagine it would have.

Not to play backseat designer, but a powered exoskeleton should focus more on multiplying the agility and reaction time of the wearer. Hand-to-hand combat doesn't figure into a lot of modern ground warfare, while enhanced agility and reflexes can do more to keep a soldier alive in a firefight than being stronger. My idea for such is an inbuilt apparatus linked to the wearer's CNS that can pass a benign current through the nervous system to supercharge the neural impulses that the brain uses to coordinate the body's movements. Typically, a foreign electrical current overrides the bioelectric signals that the brain sends to the body, thus causing things like spasms and other examples of uncontrolled bodily movement, but if this can be overcome, if an electrical current can be made to travel along the same neural pathways as the wearer's bioelectricity and even supercharge that bioelectricity, then you could make humans faster and more agile, which like I said before will do more to keep soldiers alive than simply being stronger.

Well, think about it... A super-strong soldier can casually carry and hip-fire a Heavy Machinegun as easily as a normal soldier can carry an assault rifle. Not to mention the cases of ammo, and the armor you can also load up on such a suit.
