I've recently come into quite a fair deal of money, well a fair deal for a poor uni student lol. So my first thoughts are to buy some nice Hardcovers that ive had to go without for a while. Im simply here to ask, what shoudl i buy?
To make this more thread worthy lets make a list, your top 5 hardcover releases of the past few years lets say 3.

Enjoy.

Captain America Omnibus, Books of Doom, and the three Runaways OHCs.

Those are the ones I own that I like the best.

Do you want to keep this limited to Marvel? Because my top five would be:

Absolute Sandman v.1
Absolute Sandman v.2
Palomar: The Heartbreak Soup Stories
The Immortal Iron Fist: The Last Iron Fist Story
Captain America Omnibus v.1

If you're only looking for Marvel, though, swap those first three out for:

Silver Surfer Omnibus v.1
Thunderbolts: Faith in Monsters
Punisher: Max v.1

For Marvel, I'd say:

Spider-Man: Kraven's Last Hunt.......The storyline is from the 80's, and, in my opinion, is the best Spider-Man story ever written.

Annihilation Book 3
Thunderbolts: Faith in Monsters
Agents Of Atlas

Not sure about the fifth choice. I guess:

Killraven Premiere Hardcover (by Alan Davis) ......This wasn't bad at all, although it seemed to get mixed reviews.

Two books which haven't come out yet, but I highly recommend for future buying purposes, are:

Nova vol. 1: Annihilation Conquest (out in late Dec)

Clan Destine Classic Premiere (out in Feb) ....Here's a url for this one:

Runaways volume 1 is the best thing evah!

I lent it to a woman at work who loves LoTR, Potter and fantasy stuff and she thought it was awesome. It's THE thing to give non-comic readers to show them what they're missing imo

Complete Young Avengers vol 1 is out in January, can't go wrong with that.

The Runaways vol.1 hardcover, has alot of bang for your buck, eighteen issues and TONS of extras. Plus really accessible, no prior knowledge required really.

2 and 3 are good as well if you're throwing money around.

I've only bought one.

Captain America Omnibus (Ed Brubaker)

I would absolutely recommend you get it. Absolute excellence!

I have pre-ordered the Young Avengers one that's coming in January, but I can't recommend it yet as I've not read any of it before.

I've only ever bought three hardcovers:

The Eternals
X-Men: Deadly Genesis
Planet Hulk

They're all pretty decent...though it felt like a chore to read 'The Eternals', at times.

New X-Men Omnibus

Captain America Omnibus

Daredevil by Frank Miller Omnibus

Planet Hulk

Wolverine: Enemy of the State

As you can see, omnibus is the way to go!

Runaways volume 1 - 18 issues best series marvel has put out ever

Planet Hulk - very good solo story with the Hulk on a Planet doing very Hulkish things

X-factor volume 1 - its a noir type story but its the best X-book out ever

Thunderbolts - faith in monsters - a must have

Captain America Omnibus - a pretty good ride
