I stumbled on a episode of this 2006 serie and, from what I've seen it's great. Very good action, witty dialogues and Robin looks cool. The Sheriff is played by Keith Allen, which says enough. Anyone seen it?

I tried, but it's not a patch on the "Robin of Sherwood" show which had a young Ray Winstone, a *great* Marian as well as devil-worshipping on prime time! Ah, paganism...
This take seems like some sad Laddish version with Liam Gallagher starring in "Carry On In Sherwood".

Yeah, do yourself a favor and pick up the Robin Of Sherwood DVD sets instead.

Plus series co-creator Richard O'Brian as an evil druid in later series.
Ray Winstone! Woo!
And Clannad soundtrack!
And Ray Winstone!
I know I mentioned him twice but he REALLY is that damn good.
Seriously.

too bad, I thought it was a decent show. The Sheriff was really good
but I'll check this Winstone production as well

I haven't actually seen the newer one, but seriously. It'll have to be pretty freakin' good to beat 'Robin of Sherwood'.

They're different animals. Robin of Sherwood was a lot more serious than the new BBC Robin Hood. We aren't talking Kevin Costner vs. Mel Brooks, but Robin Hood, is more lighthearted. In fact, violence and death seem almost out of place in the new series. I haven't seen Sherwood since it was on Showtime here back in the 80s, but I like 'em both.
The new series is not without its merits but nothing beats the old 80's Robin of Sherwood series (particularly before Michael Praed left the series).
The clannad soundtrack really helped root the series in old england which i really miss in the new series.
