At work we have this machine that, when you put MP3 CD's into it, it copies it to its harddrive and then randomises the songs throughout the day.

I'm getting so bored of the same old shite, and I wanna high jack it by putting more songs on there!

As far as I know, you need special MP3 CD's which we get sent down occasionally. I know nothing about these all I know about is burning regular CD's on itunes or media player.

How do you make songs into MP3 format and/or make an MP3 disc?

Or am I being incredibly thick? Would the machine just copy songs from a regular audio CD and make them mp3 files?

Go into the iTunes preferences, under the advanced tab is a tab for burning. Select the MP3 CD radio box and click okay. Make a plist of the mp3s you want to include in the disc and then burn to disc.

Ooh thanks! How many MP3s will fit on a disc?

It goes by file size, not time, So 6-700 meg worth of mp3s. 150 or thereabouts, I'd guess. Not really up on sizes.

That's great :) I really need to get ontop of re-copying al my music to itunes...I lost the whole lot a while back and it's a chore I've been putting off for far too long. Got a bunch of stuff on Napster from before I got itunes. About 100 poxy songs I'm going to have to copy to disc and then to itunes and manually type in the info! I need to buy some CD's first lol...and I've got Mario Galaxy and a bunch of songs to finish on my keyboard distracting me...gah! Why do we have to go to work!

Do you use CD-Rs or CD-RWs for this operation?

Personally, I only use CD-Rs. I pay about 12 cents a CD-R so I just burn and then dispose of them when I'm done.
