I heard this off a mate at work and I haven't been able to find anything about it on the net, neither on this website, which is where I'd expect to find it. Apparently he heard it on some radio show. has anyone heard anything about this?

What do you mean he's leaving? Do you mean he's walked away from the franchise and not doing anymore Batman films? Or do you mean he's left the set? I'm guessing that it's the later as, I understand principal filming has finished.
