It's the column in which I discuss the Marvel Digital Comics thingamabobber. A LOT.

Next week: The 100 [sic] Comics of Christmas begins!

Just read through you op-ed on Mavel DCU and I was a little confused about your take on the pricing of the subscription. It reads a little like you thought the cost was $60 per month. It's actually $10 per month or $60 per year.

So, on a monthly sub, thats about 3 standard books per month or, on an annual sub, about 1.5 books per month.

Once the newer releases start hitting the site that is pretty cheap. You would more than cut that out with either the X-Men or Spiderman books on a monthly basis. If I subscribe from where I am, New Zealand, where currently most of the standard titles are over USD5.00 each, then I am even better off.

I tried to compare this to the Uclick subscription model, but there is no easy-to-find link to that. I think the last time I looked it was $10 per month for them as well. Granted you get access to your own choice of over 150 syndicated strips, but it is 1 to 4 panels a day, generally. I long story arc is 2 to 3 weeks. So, comparatively, I am not unhappy with the price point Marvel has chosen.

Now, given I am a lapsed Batman fan, roll on DC's offering and I might actually subscribe!
