EDIT: Oops. I just realized there's already a justice league thread here. >.<

Yeah. I happen to like those casting choices a lot actually. But Porter seems like the youngest looking Superman yet IMO (next to Routh). I agree that it could be worse though.
Doesn't look very supes to me...just get routh in

The guy's been a very good actor on Friday Night Lights and is a major comics fan to boot. He definitely has the charisma to pull off Superman, moreso than Routh IMO. All he needs is a little hairdye.

Jesus. Superman is going to have a long neck, nasty adam's apple, and a big forehead.

if true, good choice, give him a nice short black hair cut with the curl,he's good
I think he's 28 years old as well,so I don't know why alot of fans are complaining about the JLA 90210 issue..

I'm not sure how old he really is, but he looks far too young.
I think the last true SuperMAN we had was Christopher Reeve. Since then it's been SuperYoungman (Routh) and now Superboy.
Seriously, did it say why they didn't just use Routh? He was pretty good...

Billage is right. According to imdb he's 28. Which is okay, but I always considered Superman's ideal age to be somewhere in his early to mid 30's.

Reeve was 25/26 when he shot the first movie. As long as he looks mature, Porter will do fine.

Reeve was 25/26 when he shot the first movie.I know, strange, isn't it? Why is it that the 25 year olds of today look so much younger than the 25 year olds of yesteryears?
It's funny, looking at Supermans movie evolution -- from the George Reeve TV show, to the Chris Reeve movies, to the Routh sequel to this -- the lead perpetually get's younger and younger looking.
Two more movie adaptations and they'll be casting a child-actor.

We as a people are taking better care and minding our health better. At least that's what i think. I look way younger at 29 than a picture of my dad at the same age.
We're also living longer.

Well I'm not sure, but I heard that the Studio didn't want Routh as Superman in the Superman movie and that Singer did. Even after the movie was made they still weren't happy with Routh.
They may have used the JLA movie as the reason why it was pushed back, but the next Superman movie was already going to be push back because the Studio wasn't please with the first.

The jerk casting this movie will mostly likley have a line up like this: Sarah Michelle Geller as Wonder Woman, one of the purdy guys from One Tree Hill to play Batman, some rapper to play the black Green Lantern (propbly Snoop Dog or 50 cent), some unfunny comic like Bob Saget or Joe Rogan to play Flash and some Muscle Head who can't act to be the Martian Manhunter.
I on the other hand:
Wonder Woman: undecided, the toughest one to cast
Batman: Christain Bale, he IS Batman now
Superman: Brandon Routh (why not)
JS Green Lantern: Micheal Jai White (if he's still in shape)
Flash: Ryan Reynolds (comic relief) he'd make a great flash
Martian Manhunter: Vin Diesel maybe? lots of options for this one. If the wrestler Bautista could act, I'd give him limited dialogue.
I think Viggo Mortenson would make a kick ass green arrow, that or Jonah Hex but that's for another topic.
As fans, who would you cast?

Batista? Vin Diesel? Have you ever read a comic featuring MM?
The character's a haunted, pacifistic shaman not a roided musclehead.

I was clearly not in the right state of mind when I posted some of that. I'll stick with Reynolds as the Flash anyday though.

Ever seen "Find Me Guilty"? If you haven't, go rent it. I think he could pull of J'onn.

I'm a mark for Vin Diesel but he just isn't right for Martian Manhunter at all. It would be a definite case of miscasting.

Eh, can't see him as Superman, more of a Elongated Man. Tom Welling would be cool since Smallville is done next season. Have like a movie straight from the show with the same actors as Green Arrow, Cyborg, Aquaman, and Impulse.

Since Welling refuses to play the adult Superman, there's no chance of this. Not to mention Smallville's already destroyed Superman beyond all repair anyway....
For Wonder Woman I would say Lena Headey from 300. She can pull it off if you ask me.

Man,has anyone seen 1992's Aces:Iron Eagle 3? There was a really hot former Miss Olympia in that flick that sure as hell could've looked the part of Wonder Woman. Her name is Rachel Mclish. She was also in a short lived tv show called "Ravenhawk".
http://www.legendaryfitness.com/rachel_mclish.htm
If this doesn't scream "Diana Prince!" then I don't know what does:
http://www.icelebz.com/celebs/rachel_mclish/photo9.html
Sadly, Miss McLish was born in 1955 and is currently in her early 50's. But her physical presence is what an acress playing Wonder Woman should have. But I know the brains who cast the wrong people in Follywood, would cast some nobody like Angelina Jolie for the part.
At least Miss McLish will always be the ideal Wonder Woman in my mind's eye. Hope to guys dig the pics at the very least.

I did a pic search, and she looks solid. Beautiful without looking trampy, nice flowing hair, and she doesn't look super young. IMDB lists her date of birth as 76, so a solid age 31. If she can act, she should be fine.

Why is Batman so young?
Throws off any sort of chronology of the character (ie becoming Batman, having experience fighting crime, etc).
Don't know if want.
Wonder Woman is looking like a good choice though.

How does Brody not fit though, honestly, a skinny smart ass is the role for Flash.
And why the hate on Common. He was good enough for American Gangster, and I thought he was good, better then TI, whom Common had to play his Dad?!?, figure that one out, but he was good. Don't hate just cuz he raps.

I'll hate all I want. This movie will suck worse than Spiderman3. If you want to gobble up and settle for whatever crap Follywood cranks out, that's your business. As for me, I'll call it like I see it. I'm not one of the mindless sheep that just settles, I expect better. And yes, I hate Smallville, and yes I didn't like Superman Returns. I have higher standards and expectations I guess you can say.

Differing opinions on a movie doesn't automatically mean 'higher standards.' Liking or not liking an entertainment option does not make someone 'mindless sheep.'
Frankly I liked Spider-Man 3, and I didn't consider it 'settling' for anything.
The phrase "I call it like I see it" is almost inevitably followed by baseless claims of intellectual superiority, such as implying that not liking "Smallville" (or any other fantasy film) somehow makes one person more intelligent than another.

Lovefist, feel feel to express any opinion you want, but do it respectfully. This "you like what I don't so you must not be as smart as me" crap will not fly. Having different tastes in entertainment is not a measurement of one's worth.
If this isn't what you're trying to do, the tone of your posts is certainly putting off that vibe. Keep in mind that phrases like "I call it like I see it" are usually used by sexists, racists, and other anti-social thugs spouting ill-informed nonsense. You might want to avoid it in the future if you don't want others to think of you that way.
