First up is Spidey, didnt have Photoshop so had to colour this pixel by pixel, took ages.....

It's like you drew Emma and went "they will never turn out crappy again!" (Not that that one's crappy, but certainly the worst of the lot.) Marrow, Iron Fist, Blink, Thor, Magneto, and Sunspot are all great. Even Vulcan's pretty good, though I think he has too much of a hump on his back and his hands seem more like knobs.

And I see what you mean about the Corsair image, but that leg is likely not hard to fix.

I think there's definitely been a progression in quality over time here. However, there are some fundamental flaws that don't seem to be going away. You're drawing nearly all of these characters with legs that are much too short, extremely small feet, and very thick waists.

My advice - which I realize you didn't ask for - is to stop copying from comics, pick up a book or two on anatomy, and try some life drawing. Once you've got the basics of anatomy and proportion mastered, then go back to superheroes if you want.





Just my two cents, obviously.

i like your work and your coloring is really starting to come together as well.

I agree with howy as well, there are fundamentals in anatomy that must be addressed. Any book by george bridgman will help with that.

One final thing--I notice quite a few of these drawings are copies of originals...no issue with copying and learning, etc. but please credit the original artist when you do it.

I think that Supergirl, especially with the coloring, is the best thing you've done. There's no noticeable anatomy problems. The face shows just the right emotion. The shading in the coloring is superb.

Do more of those, please. It's just excellent.

The coloring is good, but your construction needs work.

Sometimes wobble can be a good thing... R. Crumb used this technique a lot to emphasize how messed up the object was. (I do it sometimes because I need reading glasses and I don't always wear them!) Varying line quality can be a great way to give a stale drawing more personality. Using a brush pen, it is easier to get different thicknesses, and it is more smooth to operate than a technical pen.
