Where is this Black Spider guy?

Last I saw this Spiderman looking bad guy was in Superman/Batman getting knocked out. Who is this guy and does he have any other apearances other than these:

Batman: Shadow of the Bat #5 features a great-self-contained Black Spider story. He is portrayed as a sympathetic, semi-reformed character who is having trouble supporting his family.

A newer version of Black Spider also appeared in Gotham Central #23-24, where he is killed by Detective Crispus Allen in self-defense.

That new Black Spider actually made his debut back in Batman # 518-519, around 1994.
