I can't wait. This sounds really exciting, and the event, a huge Writer's Festival, which I'll be a guest of along with the mighty mighty Kurt Busiek, sounds really interesting. On top of that, the US Embassy (no kidding!) has asked me to stay a few extra days for some events they have planned.

Fun!

Hey! I have a writer pal in Singapore (whom I just mailed his favorite American Toothpaste). I should see about connecting him with you and Kurt.

Don't get me wrong, because I am sure that you will have an amazing time, but damm that's a lot of time in an airplane for one year. You almost should have just hung out in Australia for a few extra months just to save travel time.

I'm sure Oz would have put you up in the back room of his store. :)

I'm just warning ya. Singapore airport is amazing, really great setup, lots of stores, swimming pools and hotels and cinemas in the airport itself....but most importantly air conditioning. Cos once you step outside the humidity hits like a hammer.

Nice sunflower garden on the roof though.

Gail Simone and Kurt Busiek together? Can Singapore handle such awesomeness? Will it become Giant Monster Island when these two titans of comic writing fall into an inevitable kaiju battle!?

Holy Cow!

What a fantasmo sounding trip! Have you even recovered from the last one yet?

What kind of events have the Embassy set up? That part sounds really interesting.

Depending on what side of the state she lives on, she may be use to a little a humidity, at least during the summer that is. Though I'm guessing that Singapore is a lot worse, I assuming its like the deep south when it comes to humidity.

Wow Gail, Singapore, I've always wanted....well now that I think about it, I never really wanted to visit Singapore. Not saying its a dump or anything, just never really felt like going there. I hope you have fun Gail. :)

Tonights news of a possible windstorm just reminded me off something. We're in the the middle of storm season here in the Northwest. :(. I hope it doesn't effect your plans to go to Singapore, Gail, nor anyother plans for this winter.

Myself, I think I'll charge up the battery on my PSP and my Gameboy, do my laundry, shave, and fill out an application online while I still have a chance to do so.

The Southeast must really suck balls, cause no body ever comes here. :(

Although, we did get Ethan Van Shiver and John Romita last year in Knoxville. I'd love to see more writers make the trip though.

I think Gail mentioned she's been to Florida or is planning to have a signing there. I could be mistaken though.

Singapore Customs Agent: " Anything to declare, Ma'am ? "

Gail: " Just this, bub... " *Presses tape recorder play button*

" Well, I dunno why I came here tonight... "

It's so cool to see the draw the board gets from across the globe. Welcome, Falchion.

That's great, Falchion! Thank you!

I can't wait, I've been hoping to go to Singapore for ages. Kurt and my fambly, we're riding the same planes over (it's a three leg trip, with a long layover in LAX), and then I'm staying for the embassy stuff ( a couple presentations, a couple interviews, some visits to schools), and two extra days, and then coming back.

I'm told Sentosa is a bit of a tourist trap. What else would you suggest seeing, Falchion?

Best wishes,

Gail

Thanks, UF!

We have three days of panels, Kurt and I, hopefully you can make it to one. We were willing to do a comics store signing but Anthony Yeoh hasn't gotten back to us on that yet.

I can hook you up with the store i go to if you like! it's a small one, but cosy. I know the owner is closing the store to attend your panel on the 1st of December (the one about whether comics are for kids)
