All of us comic collectors have our own special interests, but again, the chances are that most of us have briefly strayed from our own territories to temporarily follow new horizons. I don't mean reading the odd comic that you don't usually follow, but actually developing an interest in a series or regular run albeit temporarily. It happened to me in 1968-9 when I was a teenager and considering that I am not a superhero comic fan, it was rather strange. My cousin broke his leg badly in a traffic accident and spent over 6 months at our house recovering from his injuries. During that time, he brought along a small collection of his Marvel & DC comics and among them was a bunch of DC's Adventure Comics featuring stories of the Heroes of Lallor like Duplicate Boy. I think that they were under the banner of Legion of Super Heroes or something like that and for a few months I became interested in the Lallor saga. But my cousin took his comics with him when he recovered and went home and I soon forgot about them.

Have any of you had similar 'outside' experiences?
