Can't. Sobbing.
*sob*
Can I just say that I have, quoth Patrick Swayze, had the time of my life? I've made solid pals, grown as an artist and seen some really thrilling artwork. A really unique experience - I'm only sad that I'll never go through something like this ever again.
Good luck to the final two. And huge respect for my fellow fallen- every damn one of them is a star.
Cheers,
Dan

As much as the art, I'm impressed with the professionalism and good spirit that both of these gentleman have shown throughout this!
Now seriously Caio, where are my bananas?!?!?!? I happen to LIKE bananas!
And Dan, (if that IS your real name) next time I'm in Jolly old England I'll come and try one of those food items you're so good at making.

I never knew you guys even know bananas! :o I mean, there is this powerfield over Brazilian territory that deteriorates every banana that scapes from our country... and... ok, ok! I'll send your bananas, just you wait a little longer because they only grow in the forest of eternal doom and yada-yada-yada...

Dan and Caio, you were my favorite artists in the contest and considering how good all the contestants are, that's saying a lot.
Dan, I hope to buy your books very soon, you're awesome.
Caio, I've said it before and will say it again, you're destined to work on comics. Your got style and the potential for being a star. MBB is proud of you.

I'm not very good with words (even the portuguese ones), so I'll keep it short.
Lemme thank:
- all the CBR crew for this oportunity and for the great job behind the scenes;
- all the other contestants who made this competition so tough and so good!
- and above all, my MBB fellas. I'll never thank you all guys enough.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I can't believe that I'm seen Caio an Dan going out of the competition! My favorite two contestants! But that's OK! Opportunities will come and I expect that, sooner or later, I'll be buying your comics!
And especially for Caio:
You did more than a lot of artist in Brazil has the opportunity to do!
You'll be our next Mike Deodato/Ivan Reis/Renato Guedes!
Congratulations! I, MBB and your country are proud of you!

You guys don't suck. At all. In any way. Except in the way that you aren't right here so I can pat you both on the back and shake your hands for making this a great show. I guess I'll just have to settle for buying your books when they show up.

Dan, congratulations--you did great in every step of the way. You were in my top three from the beginning, and it sucks to see you leave. The contest would have been very boring without you. Be sure to tell us when your comics hit the shelves, because you have a sure fan/buyer/reader in me.
And now for something completely off-topic...Humberto Ramos is not a penciler? The hell! I've seen the guy with a pencil and nobody is going to say to me he's not a penciler! >=(
Best luck for Caio e Dan. Your future will be great.

WOW! What a surprise reversal! I stand very much corrected! And pleased to see my favorite still in it. That being said Caio is a fine artist who I expect to see working soon!
(And if things go well, maybe we'll even work together.)
Just didnt know if you saw that Caio... :D
FOr everyone here, I only can say what I know about Caio... The guy is a hard working, awesome artist... I first met him about 3-4 mths ago on a messageboard of another site... and have seen his work up close... the guy is a lot more talented than anyone here ever saw... A LOT Of promise... I feel like he is only beginning to scratch the surface of what he can do.
I wish people hadnt multiple voted... I think maybe some voters held that against him... if not for that, who knows what would have happened?
That being said, the rest of the competition has been really strong... and I really have enjoyed everyone's work. Great talents, all of you...
P.S. Caio, can I PLEEZE post a certain 2 pg spread?

Caio, I'd just like to offer my apology. As I said in the voting thread, I felt that you did the best in round 4, but at the time you seemed to have a decent lead in the polls. I therefor voted for Charles, who at the time was in 3rd place, and who I thought did nearly as well as you did. If I had known things would turn around like that, I'd have given you the vote I felt you deserved. So I'm sorry.

Two great artists gone that I'm sad to see have to leave, but I suppose that's the way the game goes. I'm especially saddened with Dan as he's been consistently my favourite throughout the competition. I was looking through your website, and wow I love your version of the 10th Doctor. I hope you can get involved with IDW's Doctor Who book at some point in the future.

That last round was the toughest to choose, really good work all around. Went with Dan this time around because of his consistency throughout the competition. Love the Eisner feel of his work!

I'm sure both Dan and Caio will soon have their names printed in covers of comics. No doubt about it. And I'll be glad to buy titles with those guys involved.
Caio, I'll just suggest you again that you use "Zed" as your artistic name. According to numerology it's a number 7 combination, which is a positive number for artistic creation and will guarantee your success.
OK, that's a lie, but Zed is a cool artistic name!

Dan- Man, out of all of us, you were/are by far the most ready for work. Just an all around pro with a professional style. I'd wish you goodluck, but really its all that skill thats going to get you work. I can't wait to see whats in store for you man. With every assignment your pages were at the least tied for the best each round,IMHO. Your style really comes off as a natural extention/expression of yourself, effortless beautiful work.
Caio- I love your work. Its so round and fun. I remember clicking your portfolio and seeing those DC Girls pages and then the Wolverine/Venom pages, it was like magic. Just a new and fresh style. Bubbley and expressive. You've got a nice line quality to your inks too. Out of all the contestants, your the one with the x factor. When you make it, you have the potential to be really big.
I can't wait to see(and buy)what yall do next. When the guys at the comicshop are goshing over yalls work,I can say, "yeah... I know those dudes".
Best wishes,

Dan - thank you for entering the competition. If you hadn't I would not have seen your work as soon as I had. Best of luck with having your work shown at DC. It's my hopes that they put you on something right away so that I can be first in line to buy it. If you're ever in NYC at a con, I hope that you let me buy you a beer. (I'm a bit of a beer-snob - none of that American crap for me!!!). You have a fan in me... and a few of my co-workers too.
Caio - hard to believe it's over. Despite my open support for different candidates, I feel you are a GREAT talent and a genuinely nice guy. I look forward to seeing the book that you're working on in print and if it compares to anything that you've done here, I'm going to buy two copies. One for me and one for my mom.:) Also, if you ever happen to be in NYC for a con, I'd love take you out for a cervasa as well.
Long live the MBB!!!

Both of you two did some excellent work during the competition. This was the toughest round to decide on who to give my vote to.
Dan - I really liked you pages, but I also knew there wasn't gonna be a chance of you catching up in the votes to possibly make it into the final round. So I had to pass, despite the fact you used Matter-Eater Lad and Bouncing Boy : / That said, it's pretty obvious that you're gonna break into the field pretty quickly after all this exposure on CBI. Congrats on a job well done!
Caio - I didn't care much for your first round submission, but each round you got better and better, and you impressed me more and more. I really liked what you did this round. If there was any way of knowing that you were going to lose that many votes from fraudulant voters, then I probably would have swung my vote in your direction. Let that be a lesson to you cheaters! (The voters, not you Caio ;) . You have demonstrated excellent character and professionalism throughout all the controversy). I'm also sure you're gonna be breaking into the field pretty soon (It feels like I'm saying that about a lot of the contestants in CBI3, but the talent pool this year has been the best group yet).

Dan, great work, my friend... For me, your work was awesome, funny and concise... Also, we had some fun "tripping on the mayo" about Alien Power Pack... Kudos!
Caio, or better yet, Thiago (can't call you Caio, it feels weird), what can I say? A few words? ok.
1st: Thiago rlz a lot! Love your work!
2nd: Hattari, man! Your cameo made all the difference
3rd: you witnessed my feeble attempts of storyboarding! It was an unforgettable experience for all involved. But at least you storyboarded Du's part... which I wrote, hehehe... That makes me one of the few lucky ones to have a story draw by you ;-)
4th: miss you here in Sampa, dude! Drawing while listening to my iPod and taking Kim for a ride... oh, and making Du go crazy (the movies are defenseless here without you, o Great AIC Scholar)

Dan, you're work has that classic feel, and although it's not as popular as many of the other styles, it still works, and there IS an audience for it. I wish you much success, and I'll buy any book with you on it.

You both had the stuff to make the finals, Dan your work was a lot of fun.
Caio you have a very popular and unique style.
You'll both find work, I'm sure of it.
I knew that Dan would be out this round but was totally surprised to see Caio booted out as well. Kinda expected him and Charles to go head to head on the finals.
Dan was a contestant whose portfolio underwhelmed me but the moment i saw his Fathom pages, i was blown away. Now, i'm a big fan and waiting in anticipation for his comic work. Someone from the Marvel Adventures line should contact him already. I could imagine him drawing Hulk, pages and pages of art with relentless motion and energy.:)

Same thing here.
I think Dan's work is amazing, and he should confortably fit into any comic this side of the new Spirit. And Caio, well...I've been voting for him since round 1, I think he's beyond awesome - I mean, how killer are his pages in the play-at-home thread?!
