So now that I have found the comics in which spiderman gets his heart ripped out and jubilee gets blasted in half, who else has read mys tech wars?

I read it years and years ago, and I still actually have it in the long boxes. I initially picked it up because I was able to get it all for 2 dollars wayyy back. I liked it, but I think that Authority/Ultimates Hitch is a big improvement over Mys-Tech Wars Hitch. Of course,he had years of practice between.

I thought it was a neat, but kinda empty read.

i've never heard of this, when did it come out?Early nineties, from Marvel UK.

Here's a link (http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix2/mystechuk.htm) to a profile of the main villains of the Marvel UK line, Mys-Tech.

I never read it but I think it was the finale to Marvel's aborted Marvel UK line.

I read it back when I was a kid. I still have a few copies, I'm not very fond of it.

It wasn't even the mid point of the Marvel Uk Imprint. :D

And say what you will, Marvel UK made Marvel a lot of money in that period. The imprint only closed down because Marvel needed to cut costs as the industry began to crash at that point in the 90s.

It's not a bad little mini, but on its own it seems a bit shallow. That's because Mys-Tech wars was a crossover. The main series is the bulk of the story, but tyere were crossover issues with every ongoing Marvel UK title in between issues (Death's Head, Dark Angel, Motormoth and Killpower, Knights of Pendragon, Warheads...) so the mini itself only tells a basic story.

I'm pretty sure the mini was pretty much self contained , don't have to read any of the crossover issues to understand what's happening. The mini was okay for what it is. It's like the long lost marvel crossover that never was.

I also enjoyed the marvel UK mini series "Battletide" , that was kind of fun.

I liked MYS-Tech as a villain group. They reminded me of an occult/technology mixed version of the Hellfire Club.

It's not essential, no. but all the other titles enriched the experience by adding elements to it. Very much like how House of M was intended to work

Yeah. They had potential. The idea of corporation whose purpose was harvesting souls for Mephisto was kind of cool. However, later into Marvel UK they all got rejuvinated and started carrying big guns, as was the 90s trend... :(

Bring back Killpower&Motormouth!!

Abso-blummin-lutely. I hope that Paul Cornell might consider using them in his Excalibur relaunch - if not as part of the central cast then at least as guests.

Correct. Marvel UK stories were part of Marvel canon.

Not to mention Psylocke getting half her face blown off, Both Cyclops and Havok getting shot through the chest, Thor-Masterson getting his arm blown off, Sh-Hulk getting stabbed through the chest, Ghost Rider exploding, all of Excalibur getting ripped to shreds, and Nick Fury getting his soul ripped from his body and his skin ripped from his bones.

A lot of them ended up that way. Marvel US basically asked marvel UK to keep on stepping up the quota in terms of numbers of books being put out. It led to some shoddy work during the first year of imprint output. But, ironically, when the imprint started their second wave (Shortly before cancellation) the creative talent on the books was pretty formidable. Dan Abnett, Liam Sharp, David Hine, Salvador Larocca, Jim Cheung, Liam Sharp, Carlos Pacheco...

It's such a shame that Marvel decided to pull the plug.
