I read it because of the Wonder Woman guest appearance. It was ok, though I didn't exactly love it.

I feel like I missed an issue. When did the whole town find out Ryan is the Atom?

Finally got a chance to pick up my comics for this week.

All New Atom #17 literally involved me turning the pages and uttering the exclamation SWEET! at every turn. Well, except for the pages with the creepy guy/woman. Those got an "Oh GROSS!"..... but in a good way.... I think. Maybe. I think I don't want to know what Gail sees in her nightmares if she can think up this stuff while awake.

this was probably my fave issue of the atom to date

there's something so odd about the pairing of giganta and the atom; i want them to double date with firestorm and killer frost

two young legacy heroes and their wack-a-doodle dates

Wonder Woman guest appearance?
I'll have to buy it then!

Seriously Gail, I have Atom #14, and I must say, well done!

Ryan's witty, funny, and best of all, he doesn't subscribe to any stereotypes.

Awesome!:)

Head is quickly becoming my favorite supporting character.

"Head have feel oddly aroused by non-head appendages!"

Picked this up mainly as a teaser on Gail's Wonder Woman (first Atom comic I've ever bought I think).

I've no familiarity with Ray but he came across pretty well, I liked his, possibly misplaced, sense of loyalty to Giganta. Very likeable. It was good to see some time spent on fleshing out Giganta's character too, that's something that's needed.

Regarding Diana it was interesting straight away to note that the dynamic between Diana Prince and Nemesis has changed. Diana is immediately taking charge, out in front. Enjoyed the in-joke about pumping gas. heh.

I also saw signs of what Gail means about making Diana 'passionate'. The Southern Europeans are a passionate people as a rule after all so why shouldn't she be?. Having said that, someone of Diana's power is going to need to keep her passions from ruling her head in battle (and coming across as psychotic). It'll be an interesting line to tread but I think I understand why Gail is doing it - to counter the emotionless 'ice princess' accusation that's always being levelled at Diana.

Also noted that Diana doesn't seem that bothered about people learning her secret ID.

Diana's voice worked for me, I like her to speak as though she isn't a local, and to show she's had a proper education.

Some very nice artwork too. All in all a thumbs up.

Loved it when Ryan stood up to Diana.

Then he went all googly like most guys do when she says you did okay.

What I really like about this title is that Gail doesn't try to stretch out a story for six issues. If it takes two or three issues then that's what it takes. That's so refreshing. ;)
