View Full Version : Supergirl #23

DarkCrisis

I've read it and all I can say is "What?"

This was just a bad issue. Only good part was the Batman stuff.

I didn't get what was going on from the start of the GL stuff onwards.

Why can't this series be good? WHY?

This issue confused me too. I can't figure out if the conflict was real or it was a trick by Batman.

I was confused by this issue. This is not a way to pull in readers that had dropped the book awhile ago. If next issue is still confusing I will drop this book a second time.

Dear Matt Idleson...

What was the point of this issue?

Seriously?

Who wrote this? I dont get it because it hasn't been good since after infinite crisis. Kind of sad they are still having problems finding someone that can write decent stories with her.

I agree with this bit. I just found the whole thing lackluster. I hope Puckett gets better.

Dang it I was hoping somone on the forums would know what the heck was going on in this but apparently everyone else was just as confused.

Yeah, I didn't get it either. Batman's last words to her were, "Remember, only your body's invulnerable;" to me, that sounds like a lazy writer's trick to explain that the ensuing "conflict" was a test, perhaps psychologically implanted. Supergirl's been on Earth and in uniform for two years, though, so it seems unlikely (though definitely possible) that Superman and Batman are still training her.

I found the most disappointing part of the issue to be that, based on the decor in her apartment, Kara apparently likes the Black Eyed Peas. Blech. At least Justin Timberlake would make sense.

Bah. I was hoping someone could clue me in as to what the samhell happened after the silent space sequence up to the end of the issue. Good to know, kinda, that I wasn't the only one who couldn't figure that out. The sequence that showed how she quit paying attention to Superman and the Lantern was cute though.

I'm done with this book. I can only take so much of new directions and creative teams every 2 to 4 issues.

That was a complete mess. How could the editors at DC not read that and say "whow, that is rubbish" and get the thing changed? A terrible issue. The next one better be better or I'm dropping that title which would be a huge shame as I really enjoy the character,

I guess they'll explain it all next month, but I've never seen a writer who managed to waste so many pages.

Don't blame the writer, the editor should take the blame, for letting it pass.
