This series continues to impress. I do like the fact that they did take a panel to actually show some Marvel villains even though each issue this continues to seem like it isn't the Marvel universe. Art continues to be top notch. I'm still hoping they tie in th zobos to some well known villain.
What happens this issue:

1. This issue mainly focuses on Magdalena and her back ground. Mag wanted money to be able to help people other than just to have it for her own selfish reasons. I like the fact that she comments she can't have a child of her own, but shows she has an interest in orphans and even calls her rock golems baby.

2. Ahh Calamity James doesn't attack the guy that crippled him.

3. More Zobos attack.

4. Hammer girl picks up the heart of the dead member revealed to have been killed last issue cus she has psychic powers. The dead woman tells her that someone on the old team was involved in her death.

5 Man from Shadow is still running around and recruits a fired member from the Order for something. This ex member has issues with the Order's leader.

It really isnt often that I say this, but everything else going on in the book is more interesting than the battles with the villains we have seen. Let us just hope Marvel makes a cool villain we can see take on the Order. Great read.

The fact that this title has the words "The Initiative" on the cover almost kept me from reading it. But I gave it a go and have been equally impressed.

I think this was originally supposed to be the new Champions title, right?

Anyway, definately a good read and excellent storytelling.

That's exactly how I feel. I care more about characters and development of them, relationships, concepts, etc, but this series takes this to the extreme, because the villains are extremely dull. But anyway, I'm enjoying this book.

This was my favorite read this week!

I loved the backstory of Veda. The whole opening dialogues that each issue has that spotlights the individual character gets even better with this issue!

When Veda first spoke in issue 2, I began to eagerly anticipate the snotty lady's demise.

Now, after this issue, she's my favorite member on the team! (Although I do say that after every issue about the said character who is in the spotlight so to speak).

My two favorite moments in this months issue were when Veda mourned the loss of her golem and when Anthem said how tired he was of calling Tony all the time for advice! One moment was great for how unexpectedly tender it was, the other was great for its humor!

This series keeps getting better and better every issue! While I may not know every character's code name or real name, I do enjoy them all.

Art: 10 Writing: 10 Personal Enjoyment: 10! Please buy this book!

I still have an unhealthy love for this book, but I gotta say the art started looking a bit rushed here... And with the delays coming up, it looks like marvel may have done yet another artist "miscalculation" with this relaunch. We might have to deal with a fill-in for the next art.

Still, whatever... The book continues to exceed all the expectations I had for it. It might be my favorite marvel book by issue 6. Really great stuff.

It was very excellent. I hope this book lasts a good long while.

Another excellent issue. It's the little moments that really stand out for me. Henry's chat with Tony about leading a team, the resolution of last issue's "cliffhanger" . . . great stuff.

I think this was originally supposed to be the new Champions title, right?Yep. I still think that was the better title, but this one works well enough.

This book feels so refreshing because it really is different from the rest of the books Marvel has going on out there.

And there's so much going on in each issue, I love going back and re-reading because I know I'll miss something.

I was slightly bemused that Wa was actually playing Wii with the gut who hit him with his truck. That was kind of shocking and I was at first displeased because I really expected to see Crenshaw dead. Great turnaround.:)

I liked Veda's history but I wanted more of her within the issue. I think she kinda got the shaft. If I can recall, Aralune's issue had her interview and then within the issue having her deal with her powers. Same goes for Wa. Well, they did show Veda feeling hurt whenever one of her golems died.....guess I liked this book and am intrigued so much by the characters I just wanted more.

Good work Fraction and Kitson.

Veda's really cool and I was pleased that Calamity's reunion with Crenshaw worked out how it did. The Order's become one of my favorite books.

The Wii appears to be nearly as popular in the MU as it is in real life, given the number we're seeing playing it. I wonder if Tony has it built in to the armour...

I actually think the Wii was reverse engineered from tony's armor. How else can one tiny box be so much fun? Although I would have preferred if they kept the original Red and Gold color scheme that they wanted ;)

I've been loving the order. It's one of the best books to bear the initiative banner, and that's saying something considering the competition. The only thing I'm finding a bit tedious is the M.A.N. from S.H.A.D.O.W. Dose he spell out his name every time he enters a room? That would make introductions a real killer.

I'm pleased to see James didn't do anything to carl, although I wish we could have seen the confrontation between them. Still who can get mad when theres a Wii around...

You read my thoughts here. I loved the story, as usual, but Kitson's art looked a bit off the mark, certainly not to the higher caliber he's shown us in the previous issues. Definitely looked more than a bit rushed. Becky, in particular, looked absolutely awful - as did the publicist in the meeting scene.

Man, just when you think this book is going to zig... well, it doesn't exactly zag. It kind of stays on the straight and narrow. We all knew Calamity was going to bust that guy up, and he played Wii with him. We all knew the actress was a total b*tch, but she just wants to make the world a better place. I know I've said this before, but this book is the opposite of everything you expect it to be.

i call shenanigans. maybe it's just because i read some of those interviews that came out before the actual title, but what's expected is for all of them to be good-natured people. it's why those no name characters were booted off of the team in the first issue (while Veda and the rest were prominently displayed on the cover). why would you think she'd be a snooty actress when she's given so much to charity? Tony handpicked virtuous people to give powers to. these people (many of them philathropists) are risking their lives to save lives. i guess i could see someone who was anti-registration assuming that the team would be full of glory hounds. but we already have Thunderbolts to cover that ground.

seriously, i'm not trying to be a dick. but i think you guys should read this Wizard interview and then tell me that it was a big surprise that Veda's a nice person.

“She became a multimillionaire and super-famous, then realized there were all these poor people in the world,” explained Fraction. “She can create armies of golems out of organic material, but the problem is she has an emotional attachment to each of them.”

“Supernaut was a war hero [who] came back [as] an international peace activist,” said Fraction. “He was paralyzed, and Supernaut is basically a shell he pilots. It’s capable of destroying California in minutes.”

They're a modern-written Los Angeles-based super team filled with celebrities. That's all most people needed to know before writing it off as Millar's Authority redux, or X-Statix.

I'm really loving this title - everything in it works so well. The way the characters are being introduced and developed is great, hasn't missed a beat so far - I figured Mulholland would be the one I was mainly interested in, but we haven't even gotten to her issue and I'm still loving every minute of the book so far. Fraction really knows how to balance specific character writing with a team dynamic, and to think that these are all new characters - I mean, Pepper is the closest they have to a 'big name' on the roster - it's extraordinary how attached I am to them all.

You know what, right now if I had to pick one title to represent Marvel comics, this is the one. That feeling that Marvel heroes are everyday people with everyday problems, as well as the supervillain attacks - what people always go on about Spider-Man being the pioneer of, revolutionising how superheroes worked and all that jazz. That's what I'm getting out of The Order.

You know I finally got around to reading this... and now I remember.

Every so often, I seem to forget how good this book is. This lasts exactly until the next order. I'm never excited before it comes out, I often think "Hmm, maybe I should drop this soon..."

Then I read it, and it rocks. I'm certain this series will be cancelled due to sales, and DAMN it doesn't deserve to. I literally love all the heroes, love their chemistry- although Calamity is my favourite right now. Also, another thing to note- it's a major initative book about a major Initiative team which does not involve a blatantly evil or corrupt government official, in which SHIELD and the SHRA do not constantly get in the way, in which the heroes are well trained and actually competent, in which SHIELD can actually be useful as heroes... and it is neither "way too easy to win" nor is it in any way a bad book... and it is in fact better than the books which do try to tell us everything in the Initative is blatantly evil. It's not like it actively promotes the pro-reg cause... it just shows competent heroes, and does a damn good job of it. So I think it puts the lie to the theory that the government HAS to be blatantly evil for the Initiative to work in comics.

Does Marvel have a product placement deal with Nintendo? That's two superheroes playing Wii now.

Perhaps they

A) Feel a need to point out that Wii is awesome
B) Are making it even for the ridiculous 2 page Ratchet and Clank and gimmicky "Eye of Judgement" PS3 ads I'm seeing everywhere in their comics ;)

I think it's just the ridiculous popularity of the wii. When the NES got really hot 20 years ago, it was referenced pretty much everywhere too.

Sales are decent for such an unrecognized book like this.As long as it stays over 30K,it will be safe.

It's selling better than Ms Marvel right now,and that's been around for a while.
