Why was WWH delayed?

I assume it was because of art problems. But then again, I think JRJR is usually pretty punctual artist. And if there were delays, why did WWH #3 come out only two weeks after WWH #2? Plus with the events of Illuminati #5, possibly tying in to this event, I wonder if it was done for story reasons. Did Marvel ever provide an explanation?

Originally, WWH was scheduled to be 5 issues over 4 months. That's why there was the compression between those two issues. However, for whatever reason (art/re-writes), the schedule got changed so it would spread out over 5 months. The latest delay could be art, but we now know that the last issue is going to be 64 pages so maybe the extra time was used to pad it out some.

Because Marvel wouldn't be Marvel if they did not let down their fans with massive delays on key storylines. This crap happens all the time and for the life of me I don't know why they just don't set release dates out a few weeks ahead since they know they are going to be late anyway.

I'm 100% positive it was due to 2 things: The extra pages and/or tie-ins. Notably Heroes for Hire and Gamma corps. Probably frontline too. But definitely H4H IMO.
