I blogged about these covers last week (link below), but I thought it would be fun to see if any other Lincoln covers come to mind.

I'm convinced that Honest Abe leads the league in Presidential cover appearances, and may has as many as the rest of the field combined.

Please post any and all Lincoln covers here - it would be great to put together a definitve list.

For the record, any representation of Lincoln is allowed - actual Lincoln, bust of Lincoln, Lincoln Memorial etc...

I'll assume Mt. Rushmore counts too. Lots of those I'd reckon.

I was expecting to see this one in your virtual collection:
http://www.comics.org/graphics/covers/1428/400/1428_4_210.jpg
This was my first exposure to Adam Strange, who appears in a cover cameo only. Letters of comment in a following issue made a big deal over this appearance, and evidently disappointed some long-time fans who were hoping to see Adam's comeback in this very odd issue (it takes place in the future era in which Flash's wife Iris was born).

First of all, Michael, let me just say that Flash cover is awesome. I don't think I've ever seen it before.

Second, when I saw that you had contributed to this thread, a memory tweaked in my head. A comic I've owned since I was a youngster that I had completely forgotten about when putting together Lincoln covers. When I saw your name, I was certain this was the cover you'd posted.

I guess that I subconsciously associate you with Aparo art. That's not such a bad thing.

This thread reminds me of the pissing match between Kevin Smith and Tim Burton about one of the final images of Burton's god-awful Planet of the Apes.

Without giving anything away, it involves the Lincoln Memorial.

I try not to be a full-time Aparo promoter. But since we're on the subtopic, here's another relevant B&B:
http://www.comics.org/graphics/covers/1098/400/1098_4_120.jpg
This one stuck with me more strongly, since it's got interior Aparo, unlike the issue guesting the Unknown Soldier.

And just so noone beats me to yet another Aparo/Abe cover, there's also this one:

Well if you're going to count pennies, I'm sure there are plenty of covers featuring a giant coin in the Batcave.

That Owl cover (http://www.comics.org/coverview.lasso?id=21786&zoom=4) that Foxley posted is soooo cool. "The Owl is wise to the monumental mischief of the Terror Twins!" It sounds like a Bob Haney line. And the Owl looks nothing but wise in that picture; he actually looks like he's just realizing what's going on.

I never read it, but i love the title. It's like Troy McClure's move "The Revenge of Abe Lincoln"

That cover's a great example of the artist providing the absolute minimum. We can tell exactly what's going on, but there's nothing interesting or dynamic about it.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, that was the second and final issue of The Owl.

Now, off to look for more Lincoln covers. :)

I should have thought of that Breyfogle cover. That's the era that got me into Batman in the first place.

But somehow it reminded me of this one I also should have thought of sooner

That Treasure Chest on the right is one of the most bizarre covers I've ever seen. Massively incoherent. I love it! GCD is down... is it by Joe Sinnott? I know he was prolific on that series.
