I found the art great and the character development/interactions great but the endings of the stories fall flat IMO.
It has alot of action and reminds me of the old days where more than 2-3 things happen in one issue.

I would say yes it was good.
Though it wasn't bad, I have to say it was a bit disappointing. I really loved the first few issues of McDuffie's run. And I think the dialogue and character interaction throughout the entire series was a lot of fun.
But that said, a lot of the storylines ended up kinda so-so. The last New FF issue in particular felt uber compressed, with the writer literally throwing anyting in there that could possible stick. Weirdly enough, I ended up liking Hudlin's New FF stuff more than McDuffies (or at least the zombie ones).
Again, it wasn't bad. But after a really nice start, it didn't wow me at all.

It was ok. I usually really like McDuffie, but his FF definitely hasnt been my favorite work of his.
Art was great though, Pelletier has a very classic feel.

This is almost exactly what I was going to post.
Great setups. OK payoffs.

I didn't really like the story-arch. The art was beautiful, but the storyline was wanting, IMO. It had a rushed feel, especially the last issue. I didn't like the Surfer - Black Panther interaction (I still don't buy Black Panther besting the Silver Surfer), and the plot centered around a character with whom I wasn't familiar (Gravity).
I'd skip it (or at least read it at the store before deciding on whether or not to buy it).

I thought McDuffie's run on the FF was great! Lots of fun interaction and cosmic battles like the FF should be.
In only a year, he managed to fit in Galactus, Silver Surfer, a force that could threaten Eternity, Gravity, Doctor Doom and more!
It seems to me that his last storyline was meant to be longer but perhaps it was editorially mandated to be only three issues. However, the premise was great ... and could have served as a perfect send-off to end the FF series ... FOREVER!
I really recommend his run if you're into classic FF fun!

Speaking of FF what's a good issue to pick up on?

Millar just started a new run at 554 but i have to read it. So i can't recommend it yet. Go pick up McDuffie's run. It's only a year long but fun stuff!

I thought it was interesting that the new TPB only seems to collect the first 7 issues of McDuffie's run. I can't see them releasing a 3 issue TPB, so I wonder if those last three issues will ever get collected. Considering I thought the run started strong and finished with a whimper, I'd highly recommend the TPB, since they seem to have just left out the worst issues.
I read the first issue of Millar's run, and didn't really like it so I dropped the book from my pull list.

There's another trade out The Beginning of the End, it collects McDuffie's last 3 issues and some pre-JMS Kesel work. The last three non-Black Panther issues were far superior I thought, and the Kesel stuff was good but obviously rushed and payed for it. I'd go for that one out of the two.
Pelletier, by the way, is probably one of the greatest marriages of classic and modern comic illustration there is.

I definitely don't recommend starting with Millar's current arc. It's losing more fans than it's winning over. Wait until the next team takes over. Or go back to JMS' short stint from the last year or two. That was fantastic.

Yeah, like if you're having problems falling asleep.
I love JMS's Thor and most of his Spidey but his FF put me to sleep too many times to count.
Sure, Millar's run isn't as great as everybody expected it to be, but if you REALLY want a FANTASTIC Fantastic Four story, hit up Waid's run.
Sure, nothing from his run had long lasting results but that still doesn't take away from the great art and awesome stories that were told. I highly suggest that you order Waid's FF hardcovers online. (I doubt that any common store will have them in stock)

Yeah nobody did it better than Waid, but I wouldn't downplay JMS' run. I was trying to give him a recent jumping on point. Besides, the JMS run didn't even last a year did it?
