I'd only get the ASM but the rest ranged from awesome to decent.

I likes Friendly Neighberhood Spidey,PAD did a fine job cleaning up the mess someone created(aham JoeQ).

So at leats go for Friendly

Amazing Spider Man i got them all but havenīt read them yet but i trust JMS when heīs not letting himself be absorbed by magical stuff.
He is excepcional when heīs writting down to earth stories

i was a little bit disappointed, seems he was only back in black because of the movie. The story could be also told with a spidey in blue/red. But still a good storyline.

Back in Black was kinda weird to me. As others said, it was in some ways just a cheap movie gimmick. But in other ways, it almost seemed like filler since One More Day seemingly skipped over all of that.

There was just a weird disconnect the whole event had to it. But in terms of the story themselves, they were decent to good. I guess calling it a bit uneven would be the fairest description.

I thought it was good. Ended kinda weak, but it was good none the less.

A) unnecessary movie tie, B) thanks to the retcon it'll mean even less.

As such thumbs way down over all.

What issue did I miss where a mess was cleaned up?

He's probably referring to the Other.

Anyway, all the best Back in Black were actually outside specifically, Sandblasted from FNSM, The Last PAD issue, the Sensational Spider-Man anual were standouts.

The ASM wasn't bad but the ending left a lot to be desired. Besiedes, the whole point of the arc was kind of eroded when OMD started.

The other no one bothered to follow on that story.
the storyline with Arrow,it wasnīt a classic but i thought it was strong and at least tried to give us some closure.

His confrontation of JJJ,granted it was only in 1 issue and it just scratched the surface, but at least PAD gave us something(itīs impossible to do it in just 1 issue),again not the classic it shouldīve been(no matter what when JJJ confronts Peter about being Spidey it has to be a classic)but pretty solid stuff.

It isnīt so much cleaning up messes itīs more like cleaning up the house.
PAD did what he could with the resources available to him.

i loved ASM's Back in Black. For me, Spidey's at his most fascinating when he's angry and on the brink of a total meltdown. JMS did an awesome job conveying the rage that Peter felt and the grim determination to exact vengeance. On the one hand he's angry at the Kingpin, but mostly he's angry at himself for putting his family directly in harm's way. That scene in the sewer with the thug and the rats is just plain kick arse, especially the one page spread.

Like the rest of FNSM, I didn't dig it's back in black issues either. The only exception was the JJJ issue, which was pretty good.

I agree with that. I think Sacasa and David whatever they could. I liked that Sacasa was using most, if all, of the upgrades of the new costume. It showed how useless the spidey villains are with it.

Overall the BnB was good, but it was pointless, meaning just for the movie, because he has suffered same tragedies (Aunt May die, MJ die) and never wore it. Even the ASM issues, except the last one was not bad. The other two books were always better than ASM.

My favourite is the Amazing Spider-Man "Back In Black" issues. will they release it in TPB anytime soon? They're going to with Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man. I don't want to get the HC where it's all together in one.

I thought it was a mediocre to slightly above mediocre story (the covers helped a lot) with an extremely weak ending.

I wouldn't recommend plopping down cover-price for the TPB, but if you can get it at a deep discount, go for it :)

Fairly good, though not amazing. Contrary to most, I think the ending is good but the middle meanders a bit and takes too long to say too little.

Actually I think that the ending on ASM was pointless, and I found really random that Kingpin did it, to begin with. And what was the last cover? There should be a dead one, and it seemed that it wasn't Fisk (judging by the cover). The FNSM stories were better, there was the Sandman story which was ok, and the story with Ms Arrow, witch was nice to see someone continue that story. The one shot in the end was just great, although I could stand another issue for this story. Sensational was also great, with the Hyde story been great, and the Venom story been amazing! The one shot in the end wasn't that great, but it wasn't bad at all.
