For the most part it really doesn't matter what it is, but the fact Gainax is involved makes me want to jump up and watch it. I've yet to dislike one of thier projects. To me they are slowly building themselves as the Bioware of anime

I've only seen an ep or two, but it was pretty fun. It was a bit goofier than I hoped, but not bad. I guess it's more Gunbuster 2 than Eva or Gunbuster. Though I still need to see Gunbuster 2, so that's a guess. One of my roommates swears by it.

As for liscence... yeah. Geneon USA is gone. So if it was announced, then it's been canceled. Though I'm sure with Gainax and giant mechs, someone will pick it up eventually.

Whats the story?Roughly speaking, it's about reclaiming the Earth's surface from increasingly giant-sized enemy robots. (I've only finished the first arc, so I only know snippets about the second arc.)

Finally finished watching the thing (started about two-three weeks ago).

Loved it. Fairly standard Super Robot show plot-wise, but it pulls off most of the bits really well.

Only major complaint was trying to remember/keep straight/where did they come from? the extra members of the Gurren Brigade.

Best part for me? Aside from some awesome fights (the "My-Wife-Is-The-Best-In-The-Universe Swing" is as great as it is funny), my favorite part has to be Lord Genome. The guy needs a sign saying "Yes, I am the biggest badass on this show. Even more than Kamina.".

Hope for the future: Super Robot Wars has Gurren-Lagann combine with Eva Unit-01, combine with Gunbuster, combine with the Arc-Lagann, and combine with Buster Machine 7 for an uber-machine with more defense, firepower, and drills than God.
