Hunter groaned as he was helped up. Nothing was broken, but several ribs were bruised badly.

"Shit. I didn't see it before, but now that I'm loooking at it, I can see dozens of trip wires all over the place. Shit, this entire place is rigged. Everyone, step where I do. Don't walk anywhere that I don't, and keep yourselves ready to spring out of the way shoudl a trap get tripped."

With that, Hunter stepped carefully through the forest, keeping an ever watchful eye out.

"Back in Amazonia, the amazons had booby trapped the whole damn forest," Rhia recollected. She turned Selma, Natalie and Alexia. "Hey, you reckon there are amazons here? That would be awesome!"

He looked at Valeria. "Listen my beautiful warrior queen, Im sorry for being a little upset earlier, its just, never mind Im sorry. Can we please get back to this time?"

Valeria looked back and smiled a bit "Now that wasnt so hard was it my king? Yes lets try to figure this out."

Kekowa had a brainstorm. "Ok gang I have an Idea. We can either do two things: One try to communicate with the forest like Natalie did in the forest gambit, or we can have everyone that has a sword or a decent blade upfront and hack anything that gets our way."

Kekowa looked around "So any thoughts?"

"I fear neither will be helpful. The restrictions placed upon us would make whomever communicates with the forest spirits low on their energy and attacking the flora will only exhaust us, not to mention the possibility that we could spring more traps if we did so." He replied, following Hunter still. "For now we must rely on Hunter's sight to guide us."

"Shit!", he yelled as the ground underneathe him exploded outwards, sending him flying backwards.

The beast looked like a cross between an incredibly large gorilla and kodiak bear, only made from vine looking plants.

The beast roared once, sending out a wave of stunning energy that knocked everyone back.

Kekowa pushed Valeria back taking the hit for her, it knocked him on his butt and he struggled to get up.

Valeria Charged the beast sword pointed straight forward and shield in front "It may be weak but it'll still hurt you fiend. Storm cannon!" She blasted her lighting beam at the monster

Irregular...it makes no sense here.

Julien waited until an opening presented itself, aware that charging something magical was usually a bad idea when not at full strength.

The creature didn't seem affected by the restrictions of the island, leaving them at an advantage. It was faster and stronger than them, no doubt. "Focus on immobilizing it." He advised to the others. If they could keep it from moving or attacking, it would be easier to defeat it.

Dean and Ilias both managed to retain their fotting, although just barely. The Beasts attack didnt do much to appease Deans rather....

"Ilias?" Dean muttered, not bothering to turn around.

"Right." Ilias said, Preparing for their usual manuver.

As Ilias ran forwards, he lauched (At much slower speeds, sadly) himself, and his blade towards the beasts stomach.

Dean, at the same time, ran fowards and kicked himself off a tree, launching himself into air, aiming for the beasts head, with an overhead chop.

Tossing up his staff, it caught it by one of the ends before twisting at the hips. Turning a full revolution, the staff extended and widened before it was the size of a tree when it reached the creature.

Focusing his thoughts into the legendary staff, it thinned back to staff size, though sections began to break off from the staff --connected by a few links of chain-- which proceeded to wrap around the beast.

Dean let out a curse, as he collided with Ilias, his skull feeling as though it were smacked with Hildas fist(Lighty).

Usually, such an attack would not have phased Dean, But as he was now, he would have to be more careful.

Of course, as he was now, he wasnt exactly concerned with such things.

As he was chucked towards the ground, he managed to tuck himself into a roll, softening the blow, landing on his feat, his eyes burning blood red as he did.

What a pain in the ass....

With a low growl, he quickly grabbed his knife, tossing it at the beast.

It swings it's arms and knocks Ramon back, but this allows Daichi and Justin to get their kicks in, stumbling the creature in time for Levi to strike, injuring it further.

The beast fell back, wounded, and roared again, sending out another wave of unseen energy, knocking them back.

This, however, did not stop Dean's throwing knife from plumetting straight into it's head, causing the beast to roar once more, then fall over, dead.

After exploring the castle, examining the place with his third eye, Hunter returned to the group.

A crack of thunder interrupted him as the sky overhead began turning dark and rain began pattering on the stones.

"Shit! Well, it's getting late, and it looks like the storm's here. I say we stay here for the night, keeping rotating shift gaurds on duty just in case."

The rest of the room was richly decorated, tapestries and draperies everywhere.

Still, no sign of human habitation.

After exploring the castle, examining the place with his third eye, Hunter returned to the group.

The portal opened and deposited the group on the shores of a pebbled beach. The wind blew chill air off the water, cooling them. The sun was already high in the sky at the time. Before them lay a forest of conifers, pine trees, oaks, ash, maple, and other trees that resembled the hybrid ones from old Atlantis.

However, also present in the air was a slight oddness. Something one couldn't put their finger on.

You keep on saying how Kekowa hasn't had a badass moment in a while, how badass Kekowa is, etc, etc but aside from trying to strangle Xellos (which, though a little stupid, was awesome) he hasn't had a single moment I've felt was badass in more than 1000 pages. You try too hard and too inconsiderately to instill in everyone that he's badass. You RP people doing stupid stuff to make Kekowa look good. You've even RPed yourself winning a battle in 2 posts with a DM controlled character who has comprable stats to your own. It just makes me feel like dismissing him as nothing.

To say Dean was "Not Okay" would be a massive understatement. Infact, this would more than likely been one of, if not the, worst week of his life.

It's as fate itself, seemed to be going out of it's way to crush his spirits. In a weeks time, he had returned to the past, seeing the kindgom of his once great people, reduced to nothing more than broken ruins. His people, all but exterminated, what few surviors that remained, few forced into hiding, and to barely eek out survival, like animals.

And then he was fortunate enough to see the man who very well may have been the greatest King (Not to mention man) in the history of Old Nevada, slain before his very eyes, as he did nothing to stop it.

Not that he could. If a man such as Garthin couldnt, Deans fate would have been no different.

He couldnt jepordize the fate of his friends, his own and Diana's future--

Well, that seemed to be irrelevant at this point.

Dean had been against marriage--Nay, children, for as long as he could remember. His reaction on finding out Diana to be his daughter was, mixed, to say the least.

On the one hand, Dean couldnt help but feel terrified--Doomed even-- at the thought of being married, much less having a child.

Despite that, he couldnt help but feel attached to the girl, despite having known her for what seemed like a fleeting moment. Maybe it was her likeness to Kagura (God knows she seemed to inherit her icy personality). Whatever the reason was, he was attached to her just the same.

Not that he intended to admit it, of course.

But to see her die in such a horrible way, risking her very existance for them and yet....

"Forgive me, mother. It was the only way. I'm so glad I got to meet you and father......."

To be thankful? To meet him?

Dean couldnt help but to see himself as an unworthy. He had failed to protect both Diana, and Kagura in the future. As both a father, and a husband, he was an abysmal failure.

And he was absolutely powerless to do anything to save Diana from her fate in the past. It was she who saved him, and his friends.

One would find it cruelly ironic that the daughter died for the father.

In his heart, he knew there was nothing he could do to make up for his complete and total failure. The best he could accomplish, would to make Dianas sacrifice worth something.

He vowed he would do all in his power to stop the apolcylpse, and to destroy this "Lilith", or perish in the attempt once more. (OOC:You know, future and all :P)

Not only to alleviate his own guilt, and rectify his failures-- both now and in the future that may be-- but because he couldnt let Diana-his daughters- sacrifice, be for nothing.

Even so, his thoughts were his own. He had never been one for therapy.

"Hmm?" He turned towards Daichi, his thoughts interupted. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just didnt get to take my nap."

Dean shrugged. "It makes me cranky."

OOC: No battle, just waiting around in a castle. And Cleric cockblocked the Selma/Natalie date attempt just as it was going to start. I mean literally, because Selma was at Natalie's hotel door with a bouquet of roses.

But Falcon, in his infinite wisdom, has suggested that the date take place before the call. You know, like a past event. You know, like the Rhia and Henry v. evil corp battle...

Only hopefully without taking as long as that did.:D

So... Do we do that, or is the date on hold?

I guess we can. I dunno if I can RP much today though, beyond just getting my characters caught up on stuff.

Janos smiled, hoping for a rousing exchange with the one Dragon he could envision as a peer, and was about to reply, but for his companion.

"Pleasure Levi? He isnt fit to to be near a warrior such as you or I. Levi didnt you beat the Slyph Captain and Vice? And wasnt it Janos who got broken by them?"

"A warrior such as you," Janos said flatly, then slowly burst into laughter,"A dishonorable fool that attacks from behind, touts a patronizing handicap, and draws weapons in a contest of unarmed skill?!"

He lost his train of thought, this was too ridiculous to be true.

"And you consider yourself an equal to him?! HA HA HA HA HA!!! The cheapshotting bitch of Tokyo, with the pride of ONE Sylph to claim, touts himself an equal of one that wrested the Heavenly Staff the Captain's hands?!"

His proposal lost, his mindset unfocussed. This was too funny. Tears erupted as he continued to chortle at this, and before he knew it, the Captain had left his sight.

"I do not have much time. Arcadia will soon come under heavy enemy attack, and you shall not survive the encounter at your current strength levels. As such, I am taking yo uaway from here in order to strengthen you up in time."

Janos cussed under his breath as he ran as fast as he could to find where Levi had gone to. He had vital information that the dorm needed to know, but besides that, he was curious as to what made the Dragons so strong, enough to win the finals.

He finally found them gathered in the sight of a...magical little girl with an ethereal glow. Sneaking withing hearing distance, not caring for the more exotic poweres the Dragons could possess, the message harrowed him to the core.

Arcadia...ever since he became a drifter at the age of eight, he had been subject to many things, but a home was hardly one of those. Arcadia and Lion Dorm gave him a purpose, a reason.

At the last second he ran full tilt into the fringes of the group and found himself transported elsewhere.

How ironic, then, that he would only have the strength of the soldier-boy that stumbled into the school gates. Silently, he crept in the shadows to observe them.

OOC: I've been thinking of how to express this correctly for a while.

You keep on saying how Kekowa hasn't had a badass moment in a while, how badass Kekowa is, etc, etc but aside from trying to strangle Xellos (which, though a little stupid, was awesome) he hasn't had a single moment I've felt was badass in more than 1000 pages. You try too hard and too inconsiderately to instill in everyone that he's badass. You RP people doing stupid stuff to make Kekowa look good. You've even RPed yourself winning a battle in 2 posts with a DM controlled character who has comprable stats to your own. It just makes me feel like dismissing him as nothing.

OTOH, he's done a oddly good job of portraying Kekowa as something of a lovable buffoon with a heart of gold. Rhia really likes the guy, and even Django is warming up to him. ;)

OOC: Ah... BRILLIANT!

But... what about the Tamiko/Selma interaction involving the roses?... I KNOW! The rose thing happened over something different, then Selma and Natalie go on the date, then the call came!

STILL BRILLIANT!

Deans thoughts drifted back to the destroyed capital, the sky an errie bright orange, several buildings decayed, from massive damage and years of disrepair, as Draconian foot soldiers and saucers patroled the city, intent on killing any remaing surviors, no matter how few there were.

It's one of those things Dean attempted not to think about in great detail.

He still couldnt believe how Old Nevada had fallen, or rather, what it had fallen too.

"While we're on the subject, details of how they were--" He fumbled for the word, not finding 'Wiped of the face of the planet' to suit his taste.

"...Either way, the end was alot different then the stories."

Xing would be found by himself, caught within his own little world.

I can't believe she..... Dean, Kagura.... What manner of Gods would allow you to go through that?

Xing actually had allowed quite some time to think over whether he should speak to Dean about his death.

He tried to get himself to balance all the many different possibilities that should manifest from telling Dean about his genetic defects.

At first, all he could see was a measure of disappointment from Dean, one stemming from having been kept in the dark about his friend's condition.

But then, Xing considered how much worse it would be if he chose not to speak now.

It'd been difficult, but Xing had managed to convince himself, that he needed to tell Dean, and eventually everyone else he cared for. He would prove that the faith in his friends was something so weak.

That was until, Diana made her rather untimely arrival (and for a moment, she stirred a rather bitter memory in Xing, one which fortunately was quickly forgotten).

The choice she made to sacrifice herself.... Xing wanted to scream out to her, but knew it'd be pointless. What she did, she did for the sake of the world.... And what right did he have to stop her, even if the consequences would be painful?

Now, Xing wish he'd at least done something back then. Perhaps if he had, he wouldn't be so unsure about what to do.

How could he bring himself to tell Dean now? When his daughter had, at her own existence's risk, sent them on a mission to obtain the power to defeat Solarius?

Xing looked to where Dean was, speaking with Natalie, probably about what'd just happened.

He seemed.... to take it alot better than Xing'd have expected. There was none of that energy he saw in the battle during their journey through time.

Then again, perhaps he was far too shocked and the influx of emotions were so much that this was the only way he could manage them.

Xing, honestly, wasn't sure.

Father...... If you were in this situation, I know you'd have the courage to do the right thing. You always said I had that same courage..... Maybe that's true. But what use is it if I don't know what is the right thing.....

I can't go on like this though. I.... I kept on procastinating and now this is what happens. Dean... Even if this isn't the best time.... He needs to know. I can't keep him in the dark anymore.

Standing up, Xing walked towards Dean and Natalie, "I'm.... sorry for interrupting, but..... I.... need to say something."

I never said Kekowa was all bad. He actually didn't feel hammy to me for the first few hundred pages, and its again lessening now when he interacts with other PCs.

As for actually liking him, I never like Kekowa's character type in the first place, so I wouldn't be a good judge. The closest I character I can compare him to whom I like is Sagara Sanosuke, but he lacks the easy confidence of the RK character.

Oh, I'm perfectly fine with Natalie completely platonically frenching and having sex with Selma, so long as she loves Xellos.

I never said Kekowa was all bad. He actually didn't feel hammy to me for the first few hundred pages, and its again lessening now when he interacts with other PCs.

As for actually liking him, I never like Kekowa's character type in the first place, so I wouldn't be a good judge. The closest I character I can compare him to whom I like is Sagara Sanosuke, but he lacks the easy confidence of the RK character.

Me, I never cared much for Kekowa until I actually had my characters interact with him. Anyway, what I mean is that to me, the hammyness actually works somehow. Kekowa comes across like this nice, not so cool and slightly clueless guy who tries his best to be a badass, and somehow that makes him more likable then he'd have been of he'd been just a badass. Which is a bit ironic.

I really can't think of any character I'd like to compare him to.

By the way, does time trip mean Xellos just vanished into thin air from Quince's perspective? I need to PM Cleric and ask about that; it may affect ZAHLEN's reaction.

Natalie laughed, covering her mouth with her hand.

"Estraunlich, you are so poetic today. I do wonder what you have planned, ja?"

She took Selma's hand in hers and followed her lead down to the beach.

Selma smiled as she felt Natalie's hand in her's, the blush returning full force as she said "I-it's nothing much, it really isn't..."

Giving Natalie's hand a squeeze, Selma's smile grew as she began walking, leading the witch she was hand-in-hand with down to the beach.

Once there, they walked to a beach blanket with a red cooler in the middle of it, a vase with white flowers setting on top of it, two thin metal poles resting on either side of the vase.

Selma suddenly felt rather self-conscious as she said "I-I just hope you don't mind having a small barbeque on the beach..."
