Natalie smiled bitterly and leaned forward.

"No, that wasn't you, Tamiko, not at all," she said,"It was something else entirely."

She poured a cup of tea and set it before her as she continued.

"It was...a curse. You weren't in your right mind, especially since it was Solarius who..."

She paused as feelings of guilt welled up inside her, small tears of anger forming on an otherwise calm face.

With a snap of her finger, her white cloak leapt off her shoulders and fanned out, encasing the two of them and a table in a magical cloth dome.

"Right then, first what's needed are the Sacred Scripts...," she said as she walked about the circle writing jagged runes in a foreign scripture,"...then to lay mana about the Summoning Circle..."

She lay two fingers on the table, as energy traced about it with a glow. The space above them seemed to grow dark, as if the light in the room were sucked into a void.

"...and then infuse the inscription with a sacrifice to appease the spirit; a portion of your magical power."

The circle hummed and sparked, the dark space growing more opaque and shrinking in size. Suddenly it began to grow very hot in the space under the cloak. Then, with a belch of thick heat, a lizard three feet long materialized on the table before them

Forte raised an eyebrow. He walked around the table.

She covered her mouth and cut herself off before she finished that thought.

Elsewhere, a figure stirred as he lay facedown on a cushioned bench in a corner of the hotel.

"Unnnh...what the hell..."

Slowly he rolled over, feeling somewhat worn and tired, yet no longer was he bleeding.

"Hum...impeccable work," he smirked,"no field dressings required."

He cricked his neck and stood to his feet. Janos Tantalus clutched his Captain's medallion to his chest as he stepped outside of the hotel. Already a smile on his face, he laughed darkly as he head off about the grounds.

Under the midday sun, hardly any shadows were cast about the grounds of the hotel. For all of its castle-like exterior, even the winding paths and ancient walls seemed open and clear.

"Dragon Captain...," he said, trailing off with an eerie smile.

"The principles are the same, supply the circle, commit the letters to memory, create a body for the essence to inhabit. However there is one limitation; its potential is limited by your own mana pool."

"I have an idea of what it is, Tamiko," she said,"the sealing method he used inside your psyche, that wasn't a summoning, that was a rune of essence. I'm afraid there's no easy way about this..."

"It seems that inside of you...is a piece of Solarius..."

With a white flash, the massive spirit dog (http://hibbary.deviantart.com/art/Spirit-of-Vengeance-35851693) appeared. But rather then growling and howling like a wild beast, it wagged its tails like a puppy and playfully sniffed Ilsa's hand.

"This isn't a genuine summoning, though," Django explained. "At least, not as far as I understand the concept. Rather, it is a manifestation of my own will through my magic."

Ilsa looked at awe at the spectral creature and gave it a scratch under its chin.

"No, not quite, but it's a very interesting technique indeed," she smiled,"What separates this from a real summoning is the source."

"Much like its place of origin. Like its Lion cousins in China and Japan, the Okinawan Shisa is also a guardian, though much humbler. Still, in that little body it has great power, enough to still the elements with a glance and to make even dragons retreat with a roar."

Before them lay a forest of conifers, pine trees, oaks, ash, maple, and other trees that resembled the hybrid ones from old Atlantis.



However, also present in the air was a slight oddness. Something one couldn't put their finger on.


Stumbling slighty Kagura immediately noticed both her magic and her ki where weaker, much weaker.

This caused her to frown.

As soon as Ramon touched down, he instantly felt the change. For one thing, his demon arm looked a lot less menacing. His body was part human and part demon now, and he started to feel less in tuned with the magic world. Walking, he felt a little sluggish, and as he picked up his sword, it felt a little heavier. Nevertheless, Ramon quickly tried to get used to it, as he held his sword straighter and looked over to his fellow companions and said “I guess we should start headin’ out.”

"Well, shit. Hey, guys? My third eye's weaker now, but it's seeing soem heavy magic over to the east.", Hunter said, pointing to the east, towarsd the heart of the forest.

He kept close watch on where Hunter stepped, following the path himself to ensure that he didn't trip any of the wires placed before their path. It seemed that many had gone after the tablet before, but then again, its powers were worthy to seek out.

He looked at Valeria. "Listen my beautiful warrior queen, Im sorry for being a little upset earlier, its just, never mind Im sorry. Can we please get back to this time?"

Valeria looked back and smiled a bit "Now that wasnt so hard was it my king? Yes lets try to figure this out."

Kekowa had a brainstorm. "Ok gang I have an Idea. We can either do two things: One try to communicate with the forest like Natalie did in the forest gambit, or we can have everyone that has a sword or a decent blade upfront and hack anything that gets our way."

Kekowa looked around "So any thoughts?"
