Another In the Meantime Theater!! (Kinda...)

Thunder rumbled in the distance as Wei Levi stood before Arcadia Academy, a grim frown lining his lips, wrinkles around his mouth indicating that he had it quite a number of times. An eye-patch covers his left eye beneath the circular lense of his glasses from a wound unknown in origin. His good eye squints as the rain begins in a downpour; waiting for the inevitable.

It begins with a small rumble, almost making one believe it was the thunder, however, the crimson lines of light that sliced through the darkness proved otherwise. They were here. Pointing out, he shouted an order to the figures around him, but his voice is drowned out by the thunder and those around him are obscured by the darkness.

Thus they came from the darkness, monstrosities of metal and flesh. The mecha were corrupted by the Bringer and now bore patches of the crimson flesh of the demons now bound to the machines. Missiles fired off, shaking the earth with explosions and briefly lighting the darkness. Charging toward them, Levi gathers up chi into his palm before Blowing off one of the mecha's legs with a Xuán Wu Palm.

Gunfire rang out, tracing out lines on the earth as the former Shaolin monk evaded most, but could not evade them all. Ribbons of blood stream out from his flesh, but he ignores it as he leaps atop of the nearest mech. Flattening his hand like a knife, he plunges it through the chest of the demon controlling the mecha. Hopping off seconds before the fallen mech comes under fire of two others, Levi lands on the ground, mud splashing.

It was then a long lance-like harpoon pierces through the flesh of his calf before emerging out from his shin. With no time to tear it out, he forces himself to move as a barrage of missiles descends from the heavens. Fire chi gathers in his legs, increasing his speed and thus begins to melt the harpoon in his leg. Grabbing the front half of the melting weapon, he leaps up, driving the weapon into the face of the demon mechs. Two more harpoons find him, emerging from his chest and stomach.

Coughing up blood, the Dragon Dorm Captain tears out the harpoons; dropping the bloody projectiles. Turning, an orb of icy blue chi gathers into his hand. Unleashing the blast, it came forth as a swarm of dagger-like scales, piercing through several of the surround mecha. In retaliation, more turn and unload their rail guns and harpoons, but the projectiles come a halt before hitting their target. The green sphere of chi known as the Xuán Wu Shell ripples, only before bullets and lances are launched back at the attacking mecha.

As he drops his shell, however, a delayed barrage finds him. Two more harpoons make their home in his flesh; now nestled deeply into his left bicep and another in his chest. He sought to turn, but three more shot through his torso. Vomiting blood, he knew that his lungs were collapsing. Darkness was consuming his vision, but he forced himself on. Coated in blood, the Dragon made his last stand. Golden hued chi filled his eye as he stumbled off the mech, slamming into the muddy grounds below.

With his darkening vision, he saw the demonic mechs surrounding him. Mustering up all the chi his body could muster, he slammed his hand against the ground. The ground rumbled, only before a massive dragon of golden chi erupts forth. Gulping up the demonic mecha in its large jaws, the dragon rose to the darken heavens before exploding; lighting the heavens in its golden hue.

Wei Levi was dead before the blast went off...

"Brother!" Mai sat up in her bed, soaked in sweat and trembling. Looking around, it was only then she realized it had been a nightmare...no, it had been too real for that.

"Mai, what's wrong?" Looking over, her mother stood in her doorway, concerned after hearing her daughter's outburst. Leaping out of bed, she quickly clung to her mother's leg, "Big brother's in trouble!" Her mother sighed, "Your brother is fine. It was just a nightmare." Leading her back to bed, she tucked Mai in. "You'll see for yourself when you go to visit him with Shu."

Nodding reluctantly, Mai watched as her mother left the room. Biting her lower lip, she sought sleep though she hoped that nothing would be wrong with Levi when they got there.

Justin takes Tamiko to her room, and waits for her to climb back into her bed. He then heads off to look for one of the instructors. As soon as he left, Tamiko clmbs back out of the bed, goes over to the window, and stares out of it until she falls asleep on the chair near the window.

Justin quickly moved down the halls looking for any of the teachers.

She sighed wistfully, then leaned back in her chair.

"I...can't say we exactly specialize in anything, strictly. Every Sister finds her own methodology of finding what it is they can do to help this world, drawing peacefully on the power of the Astral plane."

Anthony "The Don" Gambino walked out of his sky scrapper just after sun set, flanked on both sides by a large group of men dressed in identical white suites, black hats, and sunglasses. The group proceeded towards a black stretch limousine were the driver held the door open for the Don, who stepped inside. Taking a seat, he saw another man dressed in a fine navy blue suite, reading over the newspaper sitting adjacent to him.


"The police are starting to get suspicious" the man said, not looking up from the newspaper.

"Suspicious about what?' Gambino asked with an innocent smile. The remark made the other man look up from his paper with a "You cannot be serious" look.

"Another creature escaped from the holding cell's.." Simoe said in serious tone.

"So" Gambino replied nonchalantly.

"It killed three people before we were able to recover it" he said in an unamused matter.

A sigh escaped the Don's lip at hearing the new. "I see" he said. "How did it escape?"

"It found a way pass the incantations placed on its cage " Simone answered.

"Hmm...seem's that we need to transfer it to cell 1" he said as reached over to the mini-bar. "Have it done before we return from the world tournament" he said as pulled out two glasses of wine.

"Of course" Simone answered as he took the wine glass. "So, well Bolla, and Bomba be meeting us at the tournament cite?" he asked after taking a sip of the glass.

"Si" Gambino answered. He took a sip, and placed the glass in a nearby cup holder. "And what of my daughter?" he asked

"Preparations for her are almost compleat" Simone said. "We will be able to start the ritual very soon" Upon saying that, he saw the Don's expressions soften a bit. "Don't worry my friend, she will be cured soon" he said with a reassuring smile.

Anthony just nodded back and took another sip of his wine. "I look foreword to that day" he said softly. "I look foreword to that day"

The limo continued its way towards the airport, and soon enough, to the world tournament.

Justin takes Tamiko to her room, and waits for her to climb back into her bed. He then heads off to look for one of the instructors. As soon as he left, Tamiko clmbs back out of the bed, goes over to the window, and stares out of it until she falls asleep on the chair near the window.

As she sleeps, Tamiko dreams ... she sees herself walking on a cloud, her blue wings outstreatched as if in flight. She kneels down ontop of the cloud, then uses her hands to part them, creating an opening. Looking down through the openeing, she sees Arcadia. She watches as the students walk along the pathways, talking, and laughing, and rushing to one place or another.

She sees Instructor Mourn talking with Instructor Bloodmoon, and Doctor Ruman and Instructor Kelly talking with students. As she watches from above, Tamiko smiles, a warmth filling her with great joy.

Suddenily, she hears a familiar voice calling her name. Standing up and looking around, she sees Natalie, Selma, Kagura, Alexis and Rhia all standing on nearby clouds. Each one smiling, each one looking like angels of great beauty, each one possessing a pair of wonderious wings.

As the five of them took flight, Tamiko did as well, taking to the sky after them. The six flew like birds, high into the sky. Weaving and gliding gracefully, dancing through the air in a ballet of heavenly design. As she did so, she looked back down at the earth, only to see it now covered in ice or distroyed by flames. She paused, wanting to go back down, wanting to do something to help, but Natalie placed her hand on her shoulder, and Kagura shook her head sadly. Selma, Alexis and Rhia joined in, pointing to the sky and encouraging her to take flight with them.

Tamiko tried to back away, hesitating, glancing back downward towards the earth below. As she did, she heard the laughter again...and woke up with a start. Sitting up in her chair, in her room, Tamiko looked around, then sank back into her chair, staring back out the window at the sky above.

Well, the only NPCs I actually upgrade are Maxwell and Tenten. The rest, well, they're the teachers and demonesses the characters are trying to catch up to.

Trent managed to get a win over King Kiran. I'm not sure we're quite at that power level yet, but it ought to be getting close now at least.

NPCs getting some stat upgrades might be alright, but they should be getting relatively less powerful compared to the students as time goes by. I'd say 2 of us could gank Trent with a fair chance of success about now.

You, and Dean, and Kagura.... all three of you, were sent to a time when miracles, as we call them now, were the norm!?"

Not waiting for an answer, Xing sucked in a deep breath, acting with complete shock at the discovery. "Oh, how much I would sacrifice to see the wonders you've seen! To meet the gods you've met! Few gifts could compare to the ones you were given! Even my brother's-----"

Xing stopped mid-sentence, realizing that in his excitement, he'd revealed a part of the one subject he'd been hoping to avoid since his return. Coughing immediately after, as if he hoped it would make Ilias completely disregard his last words, Xing continued, "Anyway, it must've been wonderful. So? Tell me? What did the three of you do?"

A twitch in the eye would tell Ilias that Xing was hardly interested in speaking anything about his family life.

In fact, ff Ilias possessed any form of psychic ability, he'd find that Xing's mind was feverently suggesting manners into which he could avoid the subject.

Of course, one very persistent possibility was to kill Ilias and discard any evidence that would ultimately discriminate Xing as the murderer. That, fortunately, was eventually rejected.

A second option would be to pull off what Dean had done to him a scant few moments ago, in this case, pointing out that there was a dead bird in the sky. That too was rejected, mostly because any idiot could realize that no frail corpse would be able to withstand the awesome aura of one who'd been touched by Old Nevadian soil. (This failed to explain the rationale as to why Xing even believed he could murder, or even fool, Ilias in the first place. Fortunately, Xing being Xing, conventional logic need not apply to his thoughts.)

The third would simply be to come up with an excuse for the slip of the tongue, or otherwise attribute the term 'brother' to another noun. Admittedly, out of all the possibilities so far, this one seemed the most likely to work.

In fact, Xing had come up with an extrodinarily believable fabrication that would likely pull him out of this situation. Putting on his best poker face, Xing spoke, filtering any hesitation out of his voice, "Ah, by brothers, I meant my friends in the Beast Fist School."

"It's just that I've been with them so long, it is difficult not to consider them family in some way! Surely, you share a sibling like bond with Dean as well, no?"

Another In the Meantime Theater!! (Kinda...)

Thunder rumbled in the distance as Wei Levi stood before Arcadia Academy, a grim frown lining his lips, wrinkles around his mouth indicating that he had it quite a number of times. An eye-patch covers his left eye beneath the circular lense of his glasses from a wound unknown in origin. His good eye squints as the rain begins in a downpour; waiting for the inevitable.

It begins with a small rumble, almost making one believe it was the thunder, however, the crimson lines of light that sliced through the darkness proved otherwise. They were here. Pointing out, he shouted an order to the figures around him, but his voice is drowned out by the thunder and those around him are obscured by the darkness.

Thus they came from the darkness, monstrosities of metal and flesh. The mecha were corrupted by the Bringer and now bore patches of the crimson flesh of the demons now bound to the machines. Missiles fired off, shaking the earth with explosions and briefly lighting the darkness. Charging toward them, Levi gathers up chi into his palm before Blowing off one of the mecha's legs with a Xuán Wu Palm.

Gunfire rang out, tracing out lines on the earth as the former Shaolin monk evaded most, but could not evade them all. Ribbons of blood stream out from his flesh, but he ignores it as he leaps atop of the nearest mech. Flattening his hand like a knife, he plunges it through the chest of the demon controlling the mecha. Hopping off seconds before the fallen mech comes under fire of two others, Levi lands on the ground, mud splashing.

It was then a long lance-like harpoon pierces through the flesh of his calf before emerging out from his shin. With no time to tear it out, he forces himself to move as a barrage of missiles descends from the heavens. Fire chi gathers in his legs, increasing his speed and thus begins to melt the harpoon in his leg. Grabbing the front half of the melting weapon, he leaps up, driving the weapon into the face of the demon mechs. Two more harpoons find him, emerging from his chest and stomach.

Coughing up blood, the Dragon Dorm Captain tears out the harpoons; dropping the bloody projectiles. Turning, an orb of icy blue chi gathers into his hand. Unleashing the blast, it came forth as a swarm of dagger-like scales, piercing through several of the surround mecha. In retaliation, more turn and unload their rail guns and harpoons, but the projectiles come a halt before hitting their target. The green sphere of chi known as the Xuán Wu Shell ripples, only before bullets and lances are launched back at the attacking mecha.

As he drops his shell, however, a delayed barrage finds him. Two more harpoons make their home in his flesh; now nestled deeply into his left bicep and another in his chest. He sought to turn, but three more shot through his torso. Vomiting blood, he knew that his lungs were collapsing. Darkness was consuming his vision, but he forced himself on. Coated in blood, the Dragon made his last stand. Golden hued chi filled his eye as he stumbled off the mech, slamming into the muddy grounds below.

With his darkening vision, he saw the demonic mechs surrounding him. Mustering up all the chi his body could muster, he slammed his hand against the ground. The ground rumbled, only before a massive dragon of golden chi erupts forth. Gulping up the demonic mecha in its large jaws, the dragon rose to the darken heavens before exploding; lighting the heavens in its golden hue.

Wei Levi was dead before the blast went off...

"Brother!" Mai sat up in her bed, soaked in sweat and trembling. Looking around, it was only then she realized it had been a nightmare...no, it had been too real for that.

"Mai, what's wrong?" Looking over, her mother stood in her doorway, concerned after hearing her daughter's outburst. Leaping out of bed, she quickly clung to her mother's leg, "Big brother's in trouble!" Her mother sighed, "Your brother is fine. It was just a nightmare." Leading her back to bed, she tucked Mai in. "You'll see for yourself when you go to visit him with Shu."

Nodding reluctantly, Mai watched as her mother left the room. Biting her lower lip, she sought sleep though she hoped that nothing would be wrong with Levi when they got there.

She smiled, her fangs glistening in the night. To think, they had all fallen into her trap. She could already feel the energy flowing through her new form, making her more powerful then ever before.

"Come, pet. The time soon comes. The Ring of Will shall be mine."

Solarius paused.

"Master, what of Sol? Is he neutralized?"

Lilith smirked again.

"He still resists, but his barrier weakens. He's trying to safe guard the girl at the same time as himself, so he's losing power quickly. He won't last much longer, pet, and then you'll be the only one."

Solarius smiled, his eyes glowing slightly.


With that, Solarius and Lilith, the Mother of All Monsters, the Bringer of Flames, vanished.

A twitch in the eye would tell Ilias that Xing was hardly interested in speaking anything about his family life.

In fact, ff Ilias possessed any form of psychic ability, he'd find that Xing's mind was feverently suggesting manners into which he could avoid the subject.

Of course, one very persistent possibility was to kill Ilias and discard any evidence that would ultimately discriminate Xing as the murderer. That, fortunately, was eventually rejected.

A second option would be to pull off what Dean had done to him a scant few moments ago, in this case, pointing out that there was a dead bird in the sky. That too was rejected, mostly because any idiot could realize that no frail corpse would be able to withstand the awesome aura of one who'd been touched by Old Nevadian soil. (This failed to explain the rationale as to why Xing even believed he could murder, or even fool, Ilias in the first place. Fortunately, Xing being Xing, conventional logic need not apply to his thoughts.)

The third would simply be to come up with an excuse for the slip of the tongue, or otherwise attribute the term 'brother' to another noun. Admittedly, out of all the possibilities so far, this one seemed the most likely to work.

In fact, Xing had come up with an extrodinarily believable fabrication that would likely pull him out of this situation. Putting on his best poker face, Xing spoke, filtering any hesitation out of his voice, "Ah, by brothers, I meant my friends in the Beast Fist School."

"It's just that I've been with them so long, it is difficult not to consider them family in some way! Surely, you share a sibling like bond with Dean as well, no?"

Nestled within was a beautiful 3 sectioned staff, platinum coloured with obsidian bracers on both tips.

Xellos leaned back to admire it for a moment. The masterwork metal seemed to glimmer in the moonlight, intricate patterns carved into the bracers. A special weapon of his own design, it would serve him well.

Removing it from the casing, he began practicing in the moonlight. Arcs of fire, ice and electricity sweeping and interchanging with each swing, he began the dance.

"Xellos, Xellos..." she muttered, then noticed the door to the balcony was left open. She moved to close them, but hesitated. Instead, she opened the double doors and took in the moonlight.

A part of her heart leapt in joy at the beautiful day he had prepared for her. But the memory of Kekowa's broken heart was still far too near.

Her thoughts drifted to Selma as she contemplated what the future had yet to bring, glancing idly at the shadowy clouds dancing about the sky.

As she sleeps, Tamiko dreams ... she sees herself walking on a cloud, her blue wings outstreatched as if in flight. She kneels down ontop of the cloud, then uses her hands to part them, creating an opening. Looking down through the openeing, she sees Arcadia. She watches as the students walk along the pathways, talking, and laughing, and rushing to one place or another.

She sees Instructor Mourn talking with Instructor Bloodmoon, and Doctor Ruman and Instructor Kelly talking with students. As she watches from above, Tamiko smiles, a warmth filling her with great joy.

Suddenily, she hears a familiar voice calling her name. Standing up and looking around, she sees Natalie, Selma, Kagura, Alexis and Rhia all standing on nearby clouds. Each one smiling, each one looking like angels of great beauty, each one possessing a pair of wonderious wings.

As the five of them took flight, Tamiko did as well, taking to the sky after them. The six flew like birds, high into the sky. Weaving and gliding gracefully, dancing through the air in a ballet of heavenly design. As she did so, she looked back down at the earth, only to see it now covered in ice or distroyed by flames. She paused, wanting to go back down, wanting to do something to help, but Natalie placed her hand on her shoulder, and Kagura shook her head sadly. Selma, Alexis and Rhia joined in, pointing to the sky and encouraging her to take flight with them.

Tamiko tried to back away, hesitating, glancing back downward towards the earth below. As she did, she heard the laughter again...and woke up with a start. Sitting up in her chair, in her room, Tamiko looked around, then sank back into her chair, staring back out the window at the sky above.

She then shook herself out of her shock then opened her doors.

"Comon man. Dont be so down. If its one thing I learned on my recent journey is that their are forces greater than ourselfs in this exsistance. And we cannot spend every waking hour worrying about every little thing. We should embrace our breif time of mother earth. For the lifestyle we've chosen it'll be that much shorter for most of us. Enjoy and embrace life cling to it. For in the end its all we have." Kekowa put a hand on Levi's shoulder and nodded.

This can be done a number of ways, but the least taxing, I find, is with Runes."

"Ooo an elemental creature, I like it! But first we're going to have to make some cover..."

With a snap of her finger, her white cloak leapt off her shoulders and fanned out, encasing the two of them and a table in a magical cloth dome.

"Right then, first what's needed are the Sacred Scripts...," she said as she walked about the circle writing jagged runes in a foreign scripture,"...then to lay mana about the Summoning Circle..."

She lay two fingers on the table, as energy traced about it with a glow. The space above them seemed to grow dark, as if the light in the room were sucked into a void.

"...and then infuse the inscription with a sacrifice to appease the spirit; a portion of your magical power."

The circle hummed and sparked, the dark space growing more opaque and shrinking in size. Suddenly it began to grow very hot in the space under the cloak. Then, with a belch of thick heat, a lizard three feet long materialized on the table before them

Xellos was in an unknown location, somewhere in Arcadia.

He picked up the dead drop package behind the dumpster. Making his way to the roof, he keyed in the code, causing the case to hiss and slide open.

Nestled within was a beautiful 3 sectioned staff, platinum coloured with obsidian bracers on both tips.

Xellos leaned back to admire it for a moment. The masterwork metal seemed to glimmer in the moonlight, intricate patterns carved into the bracers. A special weapon of his own design, it would serve him well.

Removing it from the casing, he began practicing in the moonlight. Arcs of fire, ice and electricity sweeping and interchanging with each swing, he began the dance.
