Rhia smiled and, from within her shirt, pulled out the ring. She had kept it hanging around her neck in a thin braid of leather, which she now pulled over her head and held up to Selma.

"I'm not sure what this means to the two of you," she said with a grin. "But I had a feeling I should hold on to it for you, just in case." ;)

Gently taking the braid of leather with the ring hanging from it, Selma hung it around her own neck. Giving Rhia a smile and a small nod, she said "Thank you very much."

Holding the ring in her hand as the leather necklace hung around her neck, Selma said "Well, this started life as a bottlecap from a bottle of coke I got while at a baseball game with my uncle. Through some hasty and unfortunate actions on my part, it is the last of a box of precious items of mine."

"How it became a ring however, I do not know, because it was in Natalie's posession at the time. She has held onto until our argument, when it passed to me and then to you. I just think she'd like it back." Selma said, tucking it into her own shirt.

Justin, hovering in flow flight through the air. Noticed Kagura down below and then flew down to meet her. "Hey Kagura".

Tomoe turned, allowing Levi freedom. Getting out of bed without disturbing the Japanese girl, he took a moment to rub his eyes and face. Dressed only his loose pants; his cheongsam ruined beyond repair, Levi stepped outside of his room. Without his glasses and having yet to braid his hair, he might have looked to be a completely different person.

Glancing down to his hand to the ring King Arthur gave him, it still felt awkward though he kept it on. On the same wrist, the pendant of Solomon rested; now fixed into a bracelet. Of course, the Dragon Dorm medallion still hung around his neck. Glancing up, he made his way down the hall.

Bare feet brushed across the soft grass as the former monk walked outside of the hotel. His mind had drifted from the incident of waking up, but rather of the nightmares that plagued the back of his mind. The darkness that he had so long ago locked away was breaking free. He only had a clue as to what he was dealing with.

Lowering himself onto the grass, he positioned his body into the cross-legged seating meant for meditation. Taking in a deep breath, he closed his eyes and delved within his own mind...

He found himself before a temple, the Shaolin temple of his youth. The courtyard was desolate of people as he strode through, but the shadows of several people swayed and moved.

Pausing, he glanced around, noticing the shadows were converging upon him. Hands shot forward at him before...

His eyes opened, bringing him back to his senses. A cold sweat ran across hot flesh and a warm and sticky feeling filled both hands. Holding them up, he noticed that he had broken the skin of his palms; a frown crossing his features.

It wasn't good. There was no way he could lock away the darkness again; no, this time he would either have to face it or it would soon overwhelm him.

Xellos isn't ninjaing it. However, he is picking her up after the pier meeting, thus it's logical that he'd drop her off there first.

It's barely a characterisation sequence for the 2 of them. Just a few lines with the gist of "gimme a ring when it's done, see you later".

In the kitchen, Natalie slumped over the counter in a fatigued stupor. The aromatic smell of sliced meats and light pan fry cuisine, combined with the ordeals not a few hours ago easily slipped her off into a doze.

Then fifteen minutes later she awoke with a start. She looked outside, and the sky was beginning to turn from pitch black to a tone of blue.

"Ah!!! I forgot about Kekowa!"

Hurriedly she brewed a pot of coffee. This was going to be a long day, but she was determined she would reach a resolution to these ordeals of the heart by noon. Or a while after.

Tamiko's smile fell slightly as she sensed his discomfort. Not wanting to pry, she smiled again, especially at the mention of ... "You got to meet Merlin? Is he really as powerful as the legend says?"

Maxwell sighed as he sat in his own shadow world, looking at the picture in his hand. The picture, showing its age with tattered edges and creases along it, was of a young brunette boy and an older blonde girl, her blue eyes beaming as brightly as her smile as she hugged the boy.

'Danielle... you were the only person who believed I had good in me... And I tried to be good, I really did, just to see you happy...' Maxwell thought, a smile crossing his face.

However, the smile turned to a scowl as he thought 'But then you left us... No, that's not true. You would never do that to us. You loved your family far too much.'

His scowl transformed into a snarl as he continued 'No, you didn't leave us. You were taken from us. You were killed by that bastard. He claimed he loved you, but he didn't. He couldn't have, or else he wouldn't have killed you and then came to the house to rub it in our noses.'

'His act fooled mom and dad, but it didn't fool me. I could see that he wasn't sorry you were dead. He was glad you had died, and the only reason he came to the house was to mock us. But it did do one thing, Danielle. It helped me realize the truth about myself.'

'It helped me learn that I really am the monster everyone claimed I was. I enjoy causing torment and suffering to others, that true my true calling is to create masterpieces with that very pain I cause. And I've been thinking him for a while, by causing suffering to the person he holds dear.'

'And when I finally become strong enough to really, truly thank him, I will. His death will be slow and torturous. He will see the monster I became, the monster he made me. And as the last moments of his life tick away, I will tell him thank you.'

A smile crossed his face, his eyes closing as his mind played through what he would do to man. Murmuring beneath his breath in a tone, he spoke the name of the person that would be target of his vengeance.

"Samuel McClane."

Natalie said nothing, just reached over to him and gently turned his head toward her. Looking into his tearstained eyes, she grew misty herself, and nodded.

Kekowa gulped. He looked her in her beautiful face and right in her big blue eyes, he picked up her hand

"I have never said this to anyone in my life. Natalie Shroeder, I love you. Truly not just a passing teenage thing. It burns deep in my heart and tells me you are the smartest, braveest, kindest, and most beautiful woman I will ever know. And nothing in all the heavens and the earth will ever change that for all time." A tear began to fall across Kekowa's cheek

"Of course." Tamiko laughed slightly, "Maybe fate will continue to look kindly on us, at least a little." Yawning, "I almost forgot how tired I was."
