School House Rumble, Part 1: Arcadia, school of Old

"We met at a tournement." Dean said, not taking his eyes off the match. "It was sponsored by his Dad. I won, Ilias was impressed by my power, we became friends."

Dean thought about it for a moment. "Well, friends who skewer each other, and bash each others heads in."

Ilias, focusing intently upon the ring, didn't bother to turn his head, but grunted in agreement to this.

'Xing' groaned as he felt the pulse knock him back some. However, the fact that many more came in succession was too much and 'Xing' slipped crashing onto the ground. It wasn't enough to completely injure 'Xing', but it did hurt.

"Bloody bastard. What will it ta---- Ooooh!" 'Xing' felt something cloud his mind. A distant laughter echoed in his mind, and 'Xing' knew at once what was happening, "Bastard! What are you doing!? You'll--- AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!! STOPPIT!!!!!!!!!!! STOP IT NOW!!!!!!"

'Xing' clutched his head as he stumbled around the arena, groaning in unimaginable pain. Just as suddenly as it'd happen, it stopped. For those sensitive of hearing, they'd know that 'Xing's' heart would appear to have stopped. For a few seconds, Xing's body was limp.

Then a giant claw appeared to pierce out of his chest, and a demonic screech filled the stadium air. Another claw followed, crimson-red like the first. Two dark horns seemed to come in between them as Xing's body seemed to be enveloped by the sheer mass of the being within him.

A few seconds later, a head and a torso followed and by then, Xing's body would've appeared to be completely engulfed by the dark portal from which the beast appeared. Two gigantic wings were foleded on the beast's back as it's legs finally appeared. Crouching for a moment, the beast then stood up to a full 20-feet-tall and screeched loudly.

At once, many would feel fear, and not because of it's grisly countenance, but in fact of it's aura. A beast similar to one that had rampaged across the Earth centuries ago, destroying all in a time of peace for three years before mysteriously disappearing. Now, it'd once again returned. And its sights were first set on the mysterios form in front of it.

Roaring once again, violet mist seemed to be sucked into the monster's maw. A few seconds later, a ray of violet energy was blasted forth, heading straight for the barrier.

An equally intense blue beam struck from the coccon as the barrier was broken. The blue beam struck teh violet beam, and a struggle for dominance took over, neither beam capable of overtaking the other.

Tenro reacted before Ilias could, clamoring about in his mind, trying to get out, screaming its litany.

Rip. . . tear. . . kill . . predator. . . prey. . . hunt. . fly. . release. . promise . . . Larieha . .

Dean's eyes narrowed as he saw Xings transformation. "What the fuck?!" He shouted confused.

"Ilias, are my eyes playing tricks on me?!" Dean began rubbing his eyes, thinking them to be defective.

Yet there was "Xing" a giant..bat...thing.

When did he get such an ability?!

Ilias' hands clenched ever harder, one digging its fingernails into his palm, the other straining against the hilt of the nodachi.

"No, Dean, they are not. And considering how your friend's last words before that transformation, it doesn't seem as if anything good shall come of it."

[Chrosis]

The dark figure in the back of the last row of the stands paused, "Hmm.... nice shoes."

Peter grinned, sending a shadow creature at her to test the waters, "Well, she certainly dressed for the occasion, didn't she?"

Shaking off her suprise, Kagura sent a faintly withering look Peter's way.

Perhaps I should use it now...?

The Beast seemed more curious than anything at first. Cocking it's head as it's crimson orbs were fixed onto where Bell once stood. For a moment, it would appear as if it chose to do nothing.

Then suddenly, it's prescence wavered from the air, and the being of unlimited chi formed behind Bell, one foot raised intent on crushing Bell.

OOC: Just as a note, due to its nature as a being made completely of Chi, The Beast (as I'll refer to it for now) cannot be harmed by physical attacks, unless there is some chi medium to transfer said attacks.

"Second Form finalized. All nanomachines report at 100%. Primary Targets, Dragon Students, canceled. Procedding with new Primary Target, Unknown Entity. Scanners identify a large amount of chi being generated inside Unknown Target. Yes sir, I will now engage."


With that, Bell's form blurred into the sky. Her arms shifted, and morphed into a cannon.

Shaking off her suprise, Kagura sent a faintly withering look Peter's way.

Perhaps I should use it now...?

Peter chuckled, "Hey, sorry. I'm just saying that her outfit doesn't seem to be... the best combat gear. Well,it probably gives her more flexibility than mine does, but that's not the point."

Ilias' hands clenched ever harder, one digging its fingernails into his palm, the other straining against the hilt of the nodachi.

"No, Dean, they are not. And considering how your friend's last words before that transformation, it doesn't seem as if anything good shall come of it."

"I thought as much." Dean said, shifting in his seat. He had a bad feeling, looking at the monster. It felt...Well, anything Dean felt around Xing, This...thing...felt the exact opposite.

Dean hunched over in his seat, hoping that nothing to bad occured. He wasnt quite sure how he would deal with Xing, if he needed to be stopped.

Peter's jaw dropped, "...another homonculus. You have got to be kidding me."

Ramus seemed to have echoed the staemsn from otuside the ring. "This place is FULL of suprises"

Phasing back into existence, the Beast appeared high in the air, flapping it's massive wings in order to keep it afloat. As it did when it first appeared, it sucked a violet mist into its mouth before unleashing it at Bell.

Peter was forced into yet another crater in the ground, which he immediately stood up from, "That's getting kinda old. Crush!"

This time, Peter sent his attack from only one direction, attempting to send Bell crashing to the ground.

Kekowa's feet implanted themselfs into the ground and the force of his aura began to crumble the earth around him. "Now you will see why the mighty Yakuza feared me so and why in their fear they call me The Demon King!" Kekowa charged fist reared back ready to strike.

Watching Kekowa's movements, Janos chuckled to himself.

He's getting tired, that wide swing is an attempt to end it.

Charging his left hand with chi and trace telekinetic energy, he focussed it all to a fine point. When Kekowa brought his fist forward, Janos parried it and threw a knife-hand thrust, not at the body, but into the arm, cutting him through the bicep up to the shoulder.

"Gangsters are the source of your pride? The very house of Sylph cowered before me, JANOS TANTALUS!"

With that he threw a blazing kick aimed to cut him across the chest.

Peter launched a creature of darkness at Bell. In mid flight, the creature morphed into a likeness of Death, top hat, sword, and guitar. In midair, he drew his sword and plunged downwards, attempting to skewer Bell.

In different parts of the arena, all the swordsmen stood with their swords drawn, watching the match intently. Kelly watched intently with out blinking once, following the movements of Bell. He then gave quick glances all around the arena, seeing that his men were in place. Noting that, he returned his focus back on the arena floor, waiting for the final outcome of this match.

"I don't care!" Rhia said. "We'll win, Ike. We'll change history, I know we will! Today I learned that nothing is impossible." Laughing, she reached out and playfully ruffled Ike's hair. "We can do anything if we stick together. You, Lex, me, and everyone else. I promise."

Peter launched a creature of darkness at Bell. In mid flight, the creature morphed into a likeness of Death, top hat, sword, and guitar. In midair, he drew his sword and plunged downwards, attempting to skewer Bell.

The blade skwered her, pinning her to the arena floor as Peter's crush began to be overpowered.

The Beast turned to look at the approaching target. Though beings as mindless as it were incapable of feeling little else but rage, annoyance began to creep in what may have passed for its mind. Perhaps that explained it's poorer than usual performance that day. The shred of humanity within it was not allowing to obliterate anything in it's path as it had centuries ago.

A mad screech erupted from it, as it raised up it's massive claws. It's intent was not to strike the incoming force, but to provide one itself that would disrupt it's enemy's path. Swiping it's claws forwards, pressurized air flew towards Bell.

A mad screech erupted from it, as it raised up it's massive claws. It's intent was not to strike the incoming force, but to provide one itself that would disrupt it's enemy's path. Swiping it's claws forwards, pressurized air flew towards Bell.


The preasure blades flew down and struck Bell, damaging her even more.

The blade skwered her, pinning her to the arena floor as Peter's crush began to be overpowered.

Death, sitting in the back of the back row of the stands, smiled to himself, "Hn, flattering. He's improved much more than I suspected he could. If he got more practice with those black holes, he might become truly powerful."

The Beast turned to look at the approaching target. Though beings as mindless as it were incapable of feeling little else but rage, annoyance began to creep in what may have passed for its mind. Perhaps that explained it's poorer than usual performance that day. The shred of humanity within it was not allowing to obliterate anything in it's path as it had centuries ago.

From above, The Beast observed the still form of it's prey. It paid no heed to the efforts of the Dragon Dorm students, and only chose to remain in the air, apparently curious at what was transpiring.

Whatever, it thought, The Beast had already decided what it would do next. As before, it seemed to suck in a violet mist. This time however, light could clearly be seen boiling and frothing from the maw of the Beast. It was absorbing massive amounts of Chi energy into it's body, and even from the great heights, those from the audience could feel the intense pressure forming within it.

The Beast wasted no time and a pillar of destructive Chi erupted from its mouth threatening to crush and utterly obliterate where Bell now laid.

Peter then turned, saw Xello's attacked, a quickly vacated the area as this.........

After the wall washed away, and the violet energy fadd away, Bell could be seen laying there, battered, bruised, and skewered. With a twitch, she pulled the two swords out and rose. Her wounds closed at a much slower rate this time, and her movements were off, almost jerky.

"Operative sytems damaged. Nanomachines at 40% capabilities. There is now a probable 89% fataility rate if I contiune to engage the Unknown Target and the Dragon Students at the same time. Yes sir, I concur. Yes sir, the Fusion Cannon is the only way to end this. Yes sir, engaging all energy to Fusion Cannon now."


Bell's stomache area opened up, and a massive surge of energy formed there. Crackling electricity, magical energies, psionic forces, and ki life force suddenly flared upward and struck The Beast, disupting the bonds holding it together in this realm. As it crashed to the ground, it slowly morphed back into Xing, now nude, laying on the arena floor.

Bell's stomache clsoed again, and she staggered, eyes dimming.

"Energy level currently at 0.1%. Incapable of fighting further without destroying the remaining operative systems. Yes sir, emergency teleportation now initiated."


With a silent hum, a blue light engulfed Bell and she teleported away.


The announcer, stunned, took several seconds to reply.


".....Well, ah, that is, since Bell Uruld has left the arena for over 10 seconds, we have no choice but to declare her Ring Out."


"Dragon Dorm has won the School Tournament!"


An uproar from the audince deafened the stadium as cheers, chanting, and laughter filled the arena.


Dragon had won, against all odds.


Lucia, Ruman, Anselm, and Dorth all hugged each other, laughing. Even Kelly had a smile on his face.

Watching Kekowa's movements, Janos chuckled to himself.

He's getting tired, that wide swing is an attempt to end it.

Charging his left hand with chi and trace telekinetic energy, he focussed it all to a fine point. When Kekowa brought his fist forward, Janos parried it and threw a knife-hand thrust, not at the body, but into the arm, cutting him through the bicep up to the shoulder.

"Gangsters are the source of your pride? The very house of Sylph cowered before me, JANOS TANTALUS!"

With that he threw a blazing kick aimed to cut him across the chest.

OOC: Busting out the Nanto Sakin I see. I'd reconize that anywhere, its about time for the endgame, but Keko still has some fight left. My next post will be the end we talked about, just dont demolish Keko k?:)

Kekowa barly reeled back as the kick sliced his jacket, shirt and sliced open his chest. The cut was very minor, like a paper cut but Kekowa had other concerns.

His right arm was trashed, he couldn't see out of his left eye and he had a bruised rib. However Kekowa grinned. Laughing through the pain "Oh you dont know how long Ive waited for a warrior to come close to besting me in mortal combat! I must ask what was that technique? I suppose I should thank you Janos Tantalus. But for now face my wraith!"

Kekowa ran around Janos again leaving after images, but this time when he'd stop he'd grind his feet into the ground sending chunks of rock at Janos. Before long a shower of Chunks of rock pelted Janos. Kekowa used this and the after images to fool him like last time sneaking up behind his back and dropkicking him planting both feet in the small of his back.

Granted, it could have easily healed from such wounds but it would appear that whatever force was within this cannon was seperating it's will from the body which it possessed. And it knew what it was. The body was no longer usable, and thus there was nothing linking it to its host.

As the monster fell, it's prescence disappeared. But if one were to search for Xing's aura, they would not find it. If one were to ask him what he had become, they'd receive no answer. If one were to heal his body, there'd be no use behind it. For Xing's, although unscathed body had grown cold to the touch, and his heart no longer beat with the life it once possessed.

Lin Xing was dead.

Finally, after a few seconds, her shock subsided as another emotion overtook her. Leaping to her feet, she wrapped her arms around Natalie and began jumping, crying incoherant words of joy.


Charlotte watched from his position above the battlefield, raising an eyebrow as she said "Well, that certainly was an... interesting battle."

Her head turned to the blonde child sitting next to her as he cried "That was amazing!"

She could help but chuckle as she said "That's also true, little Etrigan. It was indeed amazing, and rather telling of the Norn dorm."

After the wall washed away, and the violet energy fadd away, Bell could be seen laying there, battered, bruised, and skewered. With a twitch, she pulled the two swords out and rose. Her wounds closed at a much slower rate this time, and her movements were off, almost jerky.

"Operative sytems damaged. Nanomachines at 40% capabilities. There is now a probable 89% fataility rate if I contiune to engage the Unknown Target and the Dragon Students at the same time. Yes sir, I concur. Yes sir, the Fusion Cannon is the only way to end this. Yes sir, engaging all energy to Fusion Cannon now."


Bell's stomache area opened up, and a massive surge of energy formed there. Crackling electricity, magical energies, psionic forces, and ki life force suddenly flared upward and struck The Beast, disupting the bonds holding it together in this realm. As it crashed to the ground, it slowly morphed back into Xing, now nude, laying on the arena floor.

Bell's stomache clsoed again, and she staggered, eyes dimming.

"Energy level currently at 0.1%. Incapable of fighting further without destroying the remaining operative systems. Yes sir, emergency teleportation now initiated."


With a silent hum, a blue light engulfed Bell and she teleported away.


The announcer, stunned, took several seconds to reply.


".....Well, ah, that is, since Bell Uruld has left the arena for over 10 seconds, we have no choice but to declare her Ring Out."


"Dragon Dorm has won the School Tournament!"


An uproar from the audince deafened the stadium as cheers, chanting, and laughter filled the arena.


Dragon had won, against all odds.


Lucia, Ruman, Anselm, and Dorth all hugged each other, laughing. Even Kelly had a smile on his face.

Tamiko smiled quietly at the win for her dorm, happy to see that it was over and that they had achived their goal. She felt a single tear run down her cheek, then brushed it away with her hand, not even sure why it was there.

As he watched Dean leave, Ilias couldn't help but feel that things were going to get alot worse before they got better. All the while, Tenro raged in his mind. Ilias' eyes glazed over, and he began to whisper, repeating Tenro's litany himself.

"Shred. . . maim. . . kill. . . hunt.. Larieha. . promise. . death. . live. . release. .

Tenro's edge began quivering, and as it did, Ilias followed Dean down the stairs to the bottom of the arena.

Kekowa barly reeled back as the kick sliced his jacket, shirt and sliced open his chest. The cut was very minor, like a paper cut but Kekowa had other concerns.

His right arm was trashed, he couldn't see out of his left eye and he had a bruised rib. However Kekowa grinned. Laughing through the pain "Oh you dont know how long Ive waited for a warrior to come close to besting me in mortal combat! I must ask what was that technique? I suppose I should thank you Janos Tantalus. But for now face my wraith!"

Kekowa ran around Janos again leaving after images, but this time when he'd stop he'd grind his feet into the ground sending chunks of rock at Janos. Before long a shower of Chunks of rock pelted Janos. Kekowa used this and the after images to fool him like last time sneaking up behind his back and dropkicking him planting both feet in the small of his back.


As the blow sank into the base of his spine, Janos was thrown forward, barely catching himself as he buckled to all fours. Yet he endured, and stood tall.

When Kekowa fell with a slump to the ground, blood flowed from his arm continuously. Seeing his opponent in this state, yet with eyes burning with determination despite his fatigue, Janos smiled silently as he walked toward him.

Grasping him by the fringe of his jacket, the Lion Captain pulled him up to his feet and stared him in the eyes.

"You've been growing tired since your first sprint, your arm is ripped open, and you're functionally blind in one eye," he said cooly, as he roughly stood him up, then brought his hand back, glowing with chi and telekinesis

"This is the difference between you..."

Janos plunged his chi laced hand into Kekowa's chest, the impact sending an energy ripple coursing through his body from the heart out.

"And me."

OOC: And he doesn't just know nanto seiken, he also knows Jojo's Ripple :p

And it was not only his body, but his mind as well which was sound. No longer was he under the influence of The Healer. He was once again his own man.

But to be possessed by so dangerous a force would inevitably leave a mark on the individual, and what the Beast left Xing with was dangerous indeed. Or rather, what the Beast took from Xing would be the danger, for though he still possessed enough of it to be judged alive, Xing was now effectively, without chi.

The whole Time this battle raged a man stood silently and watched. His name was Qui Lan, one of Kekowa's former masters. He knew the battle was over when Janos sliced Kekowa's arm. as he heard his student cry out he went to him. "Kekowa, a valiant effort my dear student now please yeild before you cause you self more pain."

KEkowa still howling in pain rose to his feet. "I will not! I in over a thousand battles have never tasted defeat and I dont intend to start now!" Kekowa began to stumble to Janos.

Qui Lan put a hand on Kekowa's shoulder "It is over, please..."

Kekowa brushed off his master "ITS NOT OVER!" Kekowa started to make one final leap but then fell to the ground out of the blue. Qui Lan stood, hand in a knife edge form having hit Kekowa over the head.

"Young fool, now you must train my way." He used TK to lift Kekowa off the ground already reparing his injuries. With a flick he rooted Kekoa's sword out and brought it over. He turned away but called back to Janos.

"I know that technique young one. Very powerful. However if not for that you would have lost this day, my student will return for you soon, and when he does he will be more powerful than you can possible imagine." Qui Lan walked off still carrying Kekowa off with TK.

As the crowds around them went nuts with excitement, and joy, the two just looked on, showing no emotion what soever. Rubbing her left bicep anxiously, Selma looked to Natalie and said "Na-Natalie... I-I can't talk to him directly because... because I wouldn't want to see me either... but, co-could you tell Xellos I'm sorry for what happened in the cafeteria. That I'm sorry for-for betraying him like I did."

Turning, she gave a nod and said "Thank you Natalie. I-I'll just be going now, wouldn't want to bother you further."

Levi blinked as they seemed to continue with their arguments. Pulling out his staff, he brought it down like a hammer, extending it until it was the size of a small pillar. Slamming into the ground, it resounded with a thunderous thud that he hoped who get their attention.

"Enough!!"

With a sigh, the staff resumed back to its easy-to-carry rod form.


"That is quite enough of fighting. We were brought here as a team, and I won't stand by and watch as our team is broken apart by such talks."

Pushing up his glasses, he continued, repeating his words that had been lost in the storm of arguments, "I have no doubts that we weren't pitied. Afterall, for the rounds before us, it had been the Captain alone versus entire teams, and there were even rounds where we were outnumbered. There was no pity, no farce. Fate alone chose the matches."

Opening her eyes with the girl's location in mind, she looked down to Natalie. Using a bit of magic, she caused a hand of fire to appear near the witch, pointing in the direction Selma had gone.

If Natalie were to follow it, she would find more appearing every so often, which ended with one pointing to the door of the room Selma was hiding in.

Very rarely did Natalie reach into another's mindscape to read thoughts without consent to gather information, but these were desperate times, and Selma was in need, as many walls as she built up around herself. She didn't want to believe the words she spoke, for she believed in her heart of hearts that Selma was stronger than this, to endure situations beyond face value, and that she genuinely had made a breakthrough in that morning they spent together.

She did not like what she saw.

"Excuse me, Xellos...I think we need to be alone for a while..."

Tapping her staff twice to the door, she unfastened the lock and opened it slowly. With a gentle look she shuffled over and sat next to Selma, then telekinetically shut and locked it. Tapping her forehead to announce that the conversation would be psychic, she then sent a thought toward her friend.

Relaxing his thoughts, Xing decided to instead make a couple of light skips. Unfortunately, this resulted in the blanket he wore around himself falling off, something which he did not notice for until a few seconds after it happened!

Wrapping her arms around Natalie, she chuckled as she said "Na-Natalie, this has nothing to do with that shadow-wielding idiot, I promise! I was just saying that if you and Xellos got together, I hoped you would be happy. I never meant to imply you and Xellos were actually dating."

Finally calming, she blinked and looked at the crying Natalie and held her closer, calmly shushing her as she whispered "Calm down Natalie, it's OK. Please don't le-let my stu-stupid words hu-hurt you."

"Why is it all I'm able to do is hurt those around me I care about? I even hurt the very per-person I lo-love. I-I'm sorry Natalie, please don't let my stupid, inconsiderate words hurt you. Xellos felt the urge to help, but a mental itch stopped him. An equation was working in the back of his mind.

The closest I ever came to it was when they got sucked into the Maxwell portal, and I posted running into Natalie before trouble appeared. You two weren't romancing or having any pivotal talks at the time.

And I do plan on having that picnic with Natalie before Solarius gets here, with or without Selma. So don't take too long.
