Then before she knew it, she would see those eyes again, and a face stretched manically into a grin, as Janos shot up on his feet and sped toward her.

Kekowa after leaving Kagura to deal with ehr thoughts about her next match, went for a walk. Hearing sounds of battle eh Saw Selma engaged with another. His instinct was to run to her side, but he assumed they where sparring, so he let Selma fight.

A very unique fighter, I could beat him, but lets see if Selma can.

Holding them at arm's length from one another, he frowned and said "I do believe that's quite enough, this battle has gone on long enough. It's a tie."

She leaned further back against the bench and looked up at the sky.

".....I guess I have," she mused quietly.

Justin smirked at her about the nose but he did say sorry for it. "And Im one of them right. Besides, everyone needs friends in this place".

"Hmmm, a little bit. I think certain factors may make things.... difficult." 'Xing' wasn't lying on that bit. The Darkness was up to something, but hopefully, he'd be able to finish this quickly enough before it got anywhere near finishing what it was planning. "But, really, if it's the four of us against one, I'd like to think that our chances aren't that low."

"I've started to realise that you're like Shamra too. You have his courage and determination, his selflessness and kindness. And I think that's why I've come to like you so much."

Rhia smiled, and for a moment she felt an overwhelming urge to kiss him again...

...which vanished as the sound of a pair of clapping hands reached them. Cold fear rand down her spine as she realised, on nothing but instinct, what was about to happen.

Two figures came walking calmly towards them. The one clapping was a tall man with long white hair and a pale, cruel face. Beside him came a determined looking gentleman with brown hair and beard.

"Well, well, Duos," the white haired one said. "What do you say to that? Such an inspiring speach! To think, he refered to us as 'punks'!"

"There is a certain irony to that," Duos said.

"Gotta admire his spirit, though;" Trez said. "Oh well. I suppose we'll have to deal with him now?"

"That seems to be the case," Duos said. He looked at Henry. "Unless, of course, we can work this out without violence? All we want is the Princess, boy. Just walk away and you will live."

The visit from "Sol" was a wake up call for Ilias.

He had been trying to block it out, and hadn't been dealing with it; far from it, really. It had been a jolt upon his system that he hadn't been ready for, and that bothered him far more than he could tell.

Not only that, but before that, that howling noise.. it had come back, when Sol had been there. It had been a drumming, bubbling growl in his mind, and it had made Ilias freeze like food does before a predator: for those first few moments when he had been there, standing with Jason and the rest of the swordsmen, he could hardly breathe. Thankfully, he hadn't started swinging a sword around like he had been, and had forced himself to relax.

Currently, he found himself sitting stockstill, calming himself, trying to reach his center amongst the howls and snarls of the phantom wolf that followed him everywhere he went. Escaping had been a futile attempt, so now he found himself here: sitting in the lotus position, his nodachi lying across his lap, in the arena stands at its highest level, trying to block out all sound and look within.

It wasn't something Ilias liked doing. There were many things about himself that scared him, and his rather lacking care for other human beings and their affairs was on the bottom most rung of that ladder. There was something different about himself, now, though.

There was something else there. And it was vicious, it was bloodthirty, it was calm, it was honorable. Beyond morals, beyond laws, beyond hesitation.

Predator . . predator . . prey .. death . . hunt.. kill . . live . .

There was something in there, in his own mind. And it wasn't Ilias.

Then his vision went white, and he felt himself falling.

Clouds.

It was all he could see. Everywhere. Thunderous, murderously dark clouds. And above and below, there was a city. One was pristine, made of white, glorious, brilliant, marble, veins of absolute light flowing through it.

The other was a ruins, and looked like it had been that way for a long, long time. Half-destroyed towers splayed sideways, teetering, as if they would fall any moment; nothing had withstood the eroding nature of time. And within this city, something dark, murderous, lurked.

As he fell . . up, down, he could not tell, light glowed within the clouds. Enchanted by it, Ilias flew towards it--not bothering to wonder about how he had done so, just knowing that he could and was doing so--he came upon it.

At first, Ilias could not say what it was. It sped through the clouds was enviable grace, not flying, but walking upon the clouds, as if they were solid beneath its feet. And maybe it was. And then it stood before him, and it was the most beautiful in the way that natural predators were, brutal and efficient and able to rip and tear as easily as it could walk upon these clouds.

A thought whispered through his mind, and Ilias knew what to call this being, this wolf. . .

Ilias did not know when he had stood, or when he had stretched out his hand, reaching for something that was only in his mind. He spoke the word that was burnt white-hot into his mind, and knew that it could hear him, even though he spoke so softly even he himself barely could.

"Tenro."

Chiaki also stood and the chairs disapeared. She watched as the young girl walked away, finding her to be rather unusual. She then headed off to find Justin and Kagura.
