Yeah, It's a skill ability, for maxing it, Chi isnt required. It's a mix of training and Genetic disposition in story terms.

Yeah, It's a skill ability, for maxing it, Chi isnt required. It's a mix of training and Genetic disposition in story terms.

Xellos spying on people is morally questionable to me, but not to him, due to how much he values information. Just like I'm sure Eternal Torment knows Alex is very morally questionable in many of his actions, but loves the character nevertheless.

So while he wouldn't be more than mildly annoyed if she say...got Henry to whip up a few listening devices and bugged his room, he'd still protect Selma's life with his own and expect her to do the same.

That's why Xellos was hurt by her withdrawal. My own annoyance, well...I think we both know each others reasons now.

OOC: I understand that. And Selma withdrew from the scene because Xellos had seemingly drugged, knocked out, and froze an innocent person. You, I, and everyone else knows that Quince is evil, but as far as the characters know, she was some poor girl Xellos froze.

Someone you barely know (which is true, considering they've talked maybe two times prior to this for a few seconds each time) starts freezing innocent people, would you want to protect them?

Hell, she probably believes that he's secretly evil. Because, when all's said and done, freezing (supposedly) innocent people is evil, no matter the reason.

But what's morally questionable to him and to you isn't really all that valid, because this is about the characters, not ourselves. Hell, I don't go around psychologically destroying others, but Maxwell does, because that's the kind of character he is...

I just hope that you don't think I do.

Also, that scene is so made of psychological, mindfucking win. Well written.

Xing had not too long ago chose to depart from Kagura, finding it much too awkward to say anything of the matter which he was interested in asking her. Of course, this meant he had nothing else left to do until the next Norn fighter was called out. Nonetheless, Xing reckoned that he'd have abit of time to run a lap around the arena.

Starting from the entarance to the main stadium, Xing made his rounds around the hallway, pacing himself. It did not take too long until Xing began to hear some voices, the most audible one obviously quite agitated, somewhere deeper into the hallway, but he suspected it was a minor quarrel that would break in time. It seemed as if he were right for it grew quite again.

Ten seconds passed by as well as a man, whom Xing suspected seemed to be enjoying himself quite abit. Not that it mattered to the young man as he continued his jogging. Five seconds passed and he suddenly skidded to a stop. A lump of flesh right dab in the middle of the hallways blocked his path, convulsing in what Xing took to be anguish.

It only took a few more seconds before he recognised the figure to be Selma and his worry immediately intensified. Running to his friend, Xing tried to push his friend back to an upright position, "Selma! What is the matter? My goodness, why are you in such a state?" Then remembering the man from before, Xing gritted his teeth and asked, "That man I passed just now.... Did he do anything to you?"

As the ninjas charged, no doubt being fought back by the students of the Dragon Dorm, it seems there was another there. A rather old looking man who was as thin as a stick and almost appeared spidery. With long white hair and an equally long white beard, he appeared as your everday friendly old grandfather. Clad in what could only be an expensive suit and armed with a wooden club like cane, the old man blinked. "Oh my!"

Noticing that the ninjas seemed to be attacking just the children, he moved into action. With a mere phrase, he lifted his free hand up, launching a fireball as large as a beachball into several of the ninjas.

A ninja had decided to avenge his comrades, turning his blade to the old man. His ninja ken flashed out, only to be blocked by the old man's cane yet the ninja revealed a tanto and stabbed at his stomach. Pulling up with the blade and no doubt expecting to disembowel the man, his eyes widened as he seemed to realize something.

"Nani da yo!? Bunra--!" Before he could continue the old man pounded the ninja in the chest with a lightning bolt, launching him backwards onto the floor. Spasming from the electricity, he uttered the last thing he could think of, "...ku..."

His ninja ken flashed out, only to be blocked by the old man's cane yet the ninja revealed a tanto and stabbed at his stomach. Pulling up with the blade and no doubt expecting to disembowel the man, his eyes widened as he seemed to realize something.

"Nani da yo!? Bunra--!" Before he could continue the old man pounded the ninja in the chest with a lightning bolt, launching him backwards onto the floor. Spasming from the electricity, he uttered the last thing he could think of, "...ku..."

When there was no answer given, Natalie used psionics to incapacitate them gently, then turned to the alleged magician man, and focussed on his mindscape over the cries of the fallen shinobi.

Kekowa laughed "Well then goo I get some new chains. HAHAHA!" Kekowa pulled with all of hi might and flung the group of people holding his chains into one another. He grabbed both chains. very nice highly shined black metal. HE began twrliing them around and catching 3 or 4 people in a single swing. Eventually the Ninjas Thinned out. "ha stupid hired scum you are nothing before our might! hahaha." However one of the ninja's held onto a lease ready to unleash a secret weapon.

Arriving, Levi struck out, his shin slamming against the back of Hilda's kneecap. His body continued, twisting in the air as the heel of that same leg slammed into the elbow of her arm. While a fighter could build up their muscles and bones, their was no exercise for one's joint and Levi hoped that perhaps she could feel something there.



Hilda stood, the blows having no effect.

Her hands snaked outward and grabbed Levi.

"You fight with fire, Captain Levi. I respect that. However, you cannot harm me."

With that, she broke Levi's right arm with a simple twist, then heabutted him, stunning him backward. That was followed up by a stiff kick in teh stomache that sent Levi flying back.

It had managed to pierce her skin after all.

Hilda grabbed the knife and pulled it out, then looked at Dean. She then threw the knife faster then Dean could see. It implanted it'self into the arena floor just below Dean's groin area.

His mind lighted up as he saw the fracture; the excitement almost numbing the pain...almost. Slamming against the wall of the stands, he gasped out from the sheer pain of impact, not to mention his bad arm being messed up even more. Hissing as he inhaled through clenched teeth, he rose.

Thus he shouted "Dean! The gauntlets! They're the source of her power!"

With that he charged back in the ring, hoping he prove to be some help to Dean despite his state.

I thought so.....

The blade, ancient and elvish, spun faster then even Dean though it would. Hilda barely had enough time to pull her guantlet just a bit to the right, resulting in the knife penetrating the metal instead of the gems.


However.......

One, two, three drops of crimson red blood dripped from the elvish blade and fell to the arena floor.

It had managed to pierce her skin after all.

Hilda grabbed the knife and pulled it out, then looked at Dean. She then threw the knife faster then Dean could see. It implanted it'self into the arena floor just below Dean's groin area.

Dean blinked, breathing heavily, as he noticed his knife, now uncomfortably close to an area where no blade had the right to be.

With a deep, releaved breath, he wiped the blood from his mouth, pulling the kinfe up from the ground, as he did.

"I guess she's not as invincible as I thought." Dean muttered to no one in particular.

He was unwilling to risk getting tossing his knife again, less Hilda decide to be less...forgiving the second time around.

He'd have to take his chances up close. She bled, which meant she could be hurt, which was more than enough for Dean.

However, he couldnt take many more of her hits, as he was now, and he knew it. Hell, he couldnt take many of her hits, ever.

He hated relying on his Shingan, but he didnt see any choice. It was the only thing that could keep him from becoming a smear.

With a grunt, he rose to his feet, his pupils red.

The whites of his eyes were also still red, unknown to him. He hadnt had enough time to rest.

"Well, here goes!" He shouted, kicking several vacum blades her way towards her gauntlets, curious to see her reaction.

With a stinging slap, he caught the other side of the Ruyi Jingu Bang. As it met his flesh, the staff suddenly shrank, out of her grip yet it would quickly extend once more inbetween her arms; each side striking both of her gauntlets. "You're going to have to beat me into a pulp if you want to win."

It only took a few more seconds before he recognised the figure to be Selma and his worry immediately intensified. Running to his friend, Xing tried to push his friend back to an upright position, "Selma! What is the matter? My goodness, why are you in such a state?" Then remembering the man from before, Xing gritted his teeth and asked, "That man I passed just now.... Did he do anything to you?"

Selma, still sobbing, looked up at Xing as he tried to push her into a seated position. Letting out a terrified shriek, she began struggling, trying to move away from Xing, before falling back to a fetal position, covering her head in a protective measure as she whimpered "Pl-please don't hu-hurt me! I'm so-sorry! I'm s-so sorry..."

Forcing his legs to move, Levi managed to catch the thrown staff, his hand stinging yet again from the impact and his index and middle finger shooting with pain from either being jammed or broken.

Like a moth, drawn to flame, Levi lunged to his pain once more. Bringing the staff down like a club, he slammed it against Hilda's left gauntlet.

He was going to lose, but he wasn't going to let the rest of the Dragons fight against her with these gauntlets on.

He tried to swat that annoying boy from his head, hoping to break the bowl with the same blow.

Xellos had been standing on just above and in front of the giant ninjas' face, and flipped off at the last instant. Thus, the blow came at such an angle as to shatter the bowl and send chunks of ice into his eyes.

The giant was now overwhelmed with pain, losing his balance as he fell backwards.

Xellos leaped forward as the giant crashed down, burying an icy fist into his groin.

He felt more pain, felt and heard more crunching as she shattered his kneecap and foot. Darkness clouded his vision as her forehead slammed against his, causing the skin to break and bleed. Though he wasn't sure, he thought his skull had crack or broke but he couldn't tell. He didn't even know he was thrown until he hit the ground.

His good hand reached out, clawing the ground, seeking to pull himself back to the ring, but by the time his nails dug into the dirt, the darkness had taken him.

Having been busy with Levi, Hilda failed to dodged the projectiles, which stumbled her. This allowed Dean's knife and easy target.

It cut through the heavily damaged left gauntlet like a knife through butter, destroying the remaining metal and cutting Hilda as a side effect.

The gems, however, were not damaged. They mearly diappeared and reappeared over by the two remaining Norns.


Hilda was not happy, though.


She spun, her foot catching Dean's knife hand and breaking it. She then began wailing on him, blow after blow striking his chest, arms, head, and stomache.

She finally spin kicks him in the jaw, breaking it, and sending him flying to the edge of the arena.

She then pulls up a huge chunk of the arena, walks over, and begins bashing Dean with it, over and over and over again until the chunk has been reduced to rubble. She then kicks Dean in the stomache, sending him flying into the stadium wall, leaving an imprint of his body there.

As Dean spun away from Hilda, he jumped several feet back.

He could hear the "success" of his attack with such clarity, he could see it.

While this counted as a small victory, in itself, the condition of his unconcious comrades more than evened it out.

He could sense Hildas anoyance with both him, and his blade with perfect clarity.

He knew that if he had any chance of victory, it would depend on his blade.

He also knew he couldnt afford to get close to her, lest she disarm him. She was overwhelmingly his superior in close combat....

And the last time he attacked long range, almost ended in castration.

I need a distraction....

Looking around, Dean kicked several large chunks of arena at Hilda, hoping to obstruct her view.

Although her view would be obstructed, due to his abilities, his wouldnt.

He charged right after his projectiles, aiming to pierce her gauntlets gems, once more.

The silent vigil for Wei Levi had been broken by sharp cracking. The very arena had been cast up and over in a barrage.

"Interesting. Now let me see the quality of your man, Dragon Captain," Janos smirked,"Bold spirits on this team."

From where he stood, he bellowed out in applause for Dean's gambit.

Slowly turning around, he looked towards Hilda, his eyes narrowed, his teeth biting the hilt of his sword in such a way in looked as if he was grinning.

Letting out a terrified shriek, she began struggling, trying to move away from Xing, before falling back to a fetal position, covering her head in a protective measure as she whimpered "Pl-please don't hu-hurt me! I'm so-sorry! I'm s-so sorry..."


Xing's expression spelled out his concern for his friend. The girl looked absolutely terrified. Certainly he did not know Selma well enough to know if this was something usual for her, but such fear could not be healthy. Possibly, she was still worried about the future they were shown? Xing himself was suprised that he himself was not in a similar state to the one Selma was in.
