School House Rumble, Part 1: Arcadia, school of Old

"Why Otou-san?!" Ichise shouted as he was strapped to a pole, shirt taken off. While Ryuunosuke force fed him what tasted like pure wasabi sauce mixed with pure sewage, Kazuma slapped his stomach with a bokken in order to 'train his stomach.'

"You'll thank me when you're older, Ichise." Kazuma said as he reared back the bokken.

Xing looked between both Dean and Kekkowa, quite worried that whatever course of action he took would only serve to furthur cause greater strife between them. Of course part of his hesitation was due to the disappointment he felt that Dean was unable to prove his mettle on the field, and of the confusion as to why Dean chose to lie of what they'd been doing. Xing decided to reprimend the latter problem however, more for his sake than for his friend's.

"Kekkowa, Dean, please, be reasonable! I must admit that I do not fully understand the situation as much as I would like to, but though the Old Nevadian doctrine has no room for fowardly silence, surely it demands some amount of clarity!?"

"Know you not, that Dean had underwent dangerous trials, all to master the power of the Old Nevadians? Trials that seared his astral self and would've threatened to rip any weaker man asunder! Though I know not of this 'golden bear', I am sure that it was some Heavenly Messenger come to deliver Dean to his destiny as a master of the Old Nevadian ways."

"I guess those two were the macho type of guys, ne?" Tomoe asked as she fed the box lunch to Levi. Getting in a word before the next mouthful he responded, "Perhaps, but both are quite powerful and dependable if I may so myse--" Another mouthful was forced in.

"Why....why?" Looking up to Nakano Kazuma, Ichise silently pleaded for the torment to finish, but he knew it was a futile notion. His stomach felt like it was ready to dissolve from the wasabi coated horror they had forced him to eat while throbbing from the pain of being struck with a bokken each time, but now...

"C'mon, Ichise, its only a few live frogs..."

"Why do they have to be live?!"

"It builds character...and stuff..."

"...and the blowfish?!"

"To add the element of danger! Now eat!"

Natalie opened her mouth to reply then shook her head.

"White Lotus? Do you train under Bai-Mei, the white beared one?"

"Bai-Mei?" Tenten said, looking thoughtful as she said "The man I train under does have a long white beard, but I don't know if his name is Bai-Mei."

"I just know him by the title "name" of Himusha Jinmu, or simply sifu. But considering he was Cantonese, there is a real possibility his real name is Bai-Mei." Tenten said.

Looking to Natalie, she turned serious as she said "But if he's going to be asked, you're going to be the one to ask him. He'll simply call me impetuous and hit me... again."

Dean sighed heavily. The matter seemed resolved, one way or the other.

Xing shook his head and followed his friend. He could still hear Kekkowa from behind, very clearly still not pleased with Dean's attitude. Truly, Xing was at a loss as to what to do.

He had been subject to tensions like this between comrades back in the Beast Fist School, but none of them ever seemed to get so severe as this. The way Xing saw it, choosing to help one side would be to alienate the other and the young man was quite unwilling to do anything of the sort. It was fortunate that Mr. Kelly had chosen to intervene, as Xing was almost certain that things could've gotten much worse if he hadn't.

"Dean, don't mind what Kekkowa has said. It's just that this tournament may have caused some amount of agitation within us. He likely needed some way to vent such agitation out, but surely he will be back to normal once this is all over."

Almost instinctively, he could tell how he felt, merely by looking at the beating of his heart.

Looks like I'm more pissed than I thought.

"This may be selfish, but I dont regret the way this played out. This ability gives me exactly what I need. If I had to miss my match to get it..."

Dean looked towards Xing, And shrugged. "I suppose it couldnt be helped, could it?"

A swirling blue rift tore open, then shunted two men out into the middle of what looked like a lush jungle or rainforest.


Daichi moaned, then sat up and twisted, popping multiple vertabre back into place.

"Crap, that felt good. Where the hell are we?"


Ramon, who just finished spitting a fern from his mouth, shrugged.

"Damned if I know."


An incredibly loud roar was heard as the two turned and saw a T-Rex standing about 100 feet behind them, looking rather hungry.

"Oh...".

"..crap!"

With that, the two jumped up and began running, the T-Rex roaring and giving pursuit.

It had best be a Godzilla sized T-Rex, because we could solo a normal one even with our starting stats.


"Where am I? What happened?"

Several white flashes shot through Natalie's eyes. She could barely sense anything, and yet there was something more. It was both an extreme pain and a soothing euphoria. She felt freer than she had, no feet planted on the ground nor brain limited to senses.

And as soon as it had happened, like waking from a dream the white faded to black, and she felt something pressed against her face. Her hat.

Groggily, she lifted the rim of it off her face and peered about. Something was burning, and a small crowd murmured about her.

"OH! MY CAR!"

A man dashed out in front of her and fell to his knees crying. Blinking the fuzz out of her eyes, she looked around and up. Somehow she had gone to the parking lot of the Galaxy Hotel. And she stood in the wreckage of an automobile.

And she could feel her knees quaking under weight.

"...a miracle...wunderbar...JA! WUNDERBAR!"

Detatched for the moment, Natalie jumped about laughing and cheering to shocked and startled eyes. Barely realizing what had occured, she ran back down the road to the arena, finding her wheelchair likewise shattered and on fire. Then she stopped. It was a fair distance away from either point, but she wasn't sure if it was chi or magic that had caused this occurance. Slightly flushed, she paced back to the arena area.

BTC:

Xellos had observed her unnoticed ever since she wheeled herself outside.

While he wanted to help her, she was training herself in a field he understood theoretically, but had not ventured into. Besides, even girls needed alone time, and this looked like one such instance. Xellos himself did it frequently, and had learnt to replicate it even in the midst of familiar faces.

Thus, he'd settled down, gaining a greater appreciation for her resolve. He took out his PDA, keying in emails periodically to the company.

*Flashback*

I stood wide-eyed over both their corpses, covered in their blood as that shadow ran into the night. Their eyes...I'll never forget them. Was it rain on my cheeks? They streamed from my eyes. Funny, didn't know you could cry without sobbing.

I'm in shock, aren't I?

I numbly dialled the hospital. The ambulance was already too late when they answered the phone.

*Flash*

Their faces look so serene now. How'd they shift from that night? They're dressed in fancy suits, lying in comfortable wooden boxes...yet they seem less likely to wake up now than they did before.

I open the first book in the pile. The texts glow, as if they're about to leap from the page. The family...my library is already full of books, and more will be coming.

I will never be helpless again.

As Natalie hurriedly made her way back to the arena on the surface of creating a self-taught chi or magic technique, as well as having reearned her legs, she practically skipped about in joy. Sensing a familiar psychic presence, she turned and waved at Xellos with a whistle.

Well My guys will be ok fighters some of them are what I was at the begining others post forest gambit, my former traitous second is kinda close but not enough to be a real threat. BEsides if I use my influence and gather magic/phycic users I now plus the Yakuza it should be most helpfull.

But what she had noticed immediately, especially when she and Selma first went in pursuit of Maxwell and Ishii was the structure was rather convloluted.

Motioning to Tenten to follow her, Natalie walked down a lengthy hallway, ending in a door. Opening it, she revealed a room, abandoned and sealed in from all sides, the only source of light a solitary bulb in the ceiling.

"You can't beat him in a footrace, so your speed is inadequate. You cannot use other skills, for that will be cheating. Therefore, the only things left are you, the gremlin and the world around you," she smiled.

Despite a few bandages, she seemed to be recovered from the rather humiliating fight, or at least physically. Nothing right now. Last time kekowa did anything was a few pages back when he was talking to Kelly.

They soon found Kiran outside near a tree, where he was apparently in the middle of relating an anecdote to Henry and Alexia.

"...So I put the rose between my teeth and climbed in through the window. But, unfortunately, the lady wasn't there. So I introduced myself to the lady that was there and she..." He looked up as they approached. "Oh, Rhia! There you are. Good show, back there."

"Thanks, Henry," Rhia replied to him, before turning to her father. "Okay, cut the nonsense. Where is Shamra? I know he's here, and if he is you must know about it!"

Kiran sighed theatrically. "I wish I could tell you, Rhia, but I honestly have no idea. After your fight he did that teleporty-vanish-thing again and we haven't seen him since then." He raised an eyebrow. "Why do you need to know?"

"Well, we sort of need some advice," Rhia said, and emidiately regreted doing so.

Kiran clapped his hands together. "Wonderful! I love giving advice. Tell me your troubles!"

Rhia sighed. This was a bad idea...

Rhia explained the situation to her father as well as she could. "...so you see, we want to help Natalie but we don't know what to do."

"Oho?" Kiran said, stroking his chin. "Because you both suck as magic that doesn't involve setting things on fire or running very fast, yes?"

Rhia frowned. "Something like that, yeah. You don't have to say it like that, though."

"Well, obviously, you should consider your resources, and act via proxy," Kiran said. "In other words, take it up with someone who know more about this matter then you do. For example, have you talked to Aisling yet? I understand she practices a similar art as Miss Schroeder."

"Aisling is here?" Rhia exclaimed. "Why didn't you just say so!?"

"You're welcome," Kiran replied dryly.

Natalie, still staggered be her strength, similar in impact to Selma's, buckled slightly and nodded.

Then, she walked back out to the main arena lobby, leaned against the wall, and contemplated the use of chi as she waited for Suzume. She created a spiralling sphere and balanced it on her finger.

And Alexia is thinking about death.

OOC: Well, that self-destructive urge has been hiding in her for years now. With the recent events going down, the countdown has begun. You guys are looking at a fullblown possession by Dark Alexia. She's a timebomb. Even the characters will start to notice her instability.

Then, she walked back out to the main arena lobby, leaned against the wall, and contemplated the use of chi as she waited for Suzume. She created a spiralling sphere and balanced it on her finger.

"Now... to lure him here so I can catch him." Tenten murmured, tapping her chin lightly as she thought. Smiling, she walked to a concession stand and bought some food, placing it outside the door.

She then hid inside the room, the door open just enough to see the lure. Sure enough, Bitey appeared soon enough, stopping as he saw it. Looking around, he saw noone around.

Grinning widely, he sat down and began eating. As he ate, Tenten gently pushed the door open enough and pounced through it, grabbing hold of Bitey around the waist. Growling angrily, he began hitting Tenten and struggling to free himself, but it proved futile. Her hold on him was too strong.

"Stop fighting, you've lost." Tenten said with a smirk, Bitey letting out an annoyed sigh as he did so. Smiling victoriously, Tenten walked off to find Natalie to thank her again for the assistance.

What is that? I smell something....salty. And...it tastes like copper. Wait. Is that raw meat?

Her eyes snapped open. She sat up, and was confused for a second. This wasn't right. The study shouldn't be painted red. It was....

Oh.

What was going on? Alexia finally noticed something. Her clothes, her hair, her body.....it was all drenched in blood and gore.

"Why...why is this happening?" she asked herself.

A raspy breath came from her right. An arm was sticking out from the other side of the sofa. Alexia got up and walked over.

It was one of the guards. There wasn't much of his body left. Everything below his stomach was gone, splattered across the walls or trampled into the carpet. As she leaned over to check the mortally wounded man, he breathed for the last time and laid still.

She recoiled. Who did this? Why was there such carnage? And why was she unharmed?

Alexia saw another guard. He was torn in half like the other one. In fact, there were 4 more dead guards, all brutally killed by who she assumed to be the same person.

A stifled sob came from behind her. She recognized the sound.

"...Mother?"

She turned around. What she saw never left her dreams, despite the fact that 5 years had passed.

Her mother was pinned to the wall with a splintered table.

"MOTHER!!!"

OOC: Hopefully, that wasn't horrendously bad.

Kekowa looked on, as he sat Dr Ruman began finsihing his healing. "You really should take it easy, no matter how high your pain threshold if you push yourself your body will collapse." Kekowa let the words pass through un heard. I must show no weakness no faulter, no wavering.

He saw Levi going into the ring by himself. He was very unsure weather the monk could beat the both of them. I esacped my match by the skin of my teeth, my wits and willpower saved my neck, but these charecters are the vice and senior captains respectfully meaning they are probuly stronger than my opponet by a good level. I must show Wei my support

Leaping backwards, by the time Levi landed, the chi of the Zhu Què Talon activated, going off like a fire bomb across Gilbert's back where Levi had struck.

I see now...he can control the Void...

Levi stood in the darkness, slowing down his beating heart and his breathing and allowing his senses to pick up where his sight failed. There was no doubt that Gilbert was planning to pick him off in the darkness with his sword and be gone before he could strike himself, so he had to find a way to discover Gilbert before he could strike.

It was then the plan was made...

Levi stood in the darkness, slowing down his beating heart and his breathing and allowing his senses to pick up where his sight failed. There was no doubt that Gilbert was planning to pick him off in the darkness with his sword and be gone before he could strike himself, so he had to find a way to discover Gilbert before he could strike.

It was then the plan was made...

Gilbert leapt, staying silent, as he descended towards Levi, blade point down.

Rhia and Selma were still in a fit of giggles, Rhia having put her own arm around Selma's neck resulting in a sort of clingy half-hug. She snickered. "Thanks, Henry. But I've still got some surprises. Trust me, you ain't seen nuthin' yet!"

Gilbert's blade struck true...or maybe it was too true. Piercing's Levi's left shoulder, Levi's gritted his teeth before his chi flowed through his body. Gilbert would find his blade was stuck in Levi as the chi of the Xuán Wu tightened his muscles around the blade. While he hoped it would be as long as he could bear it, the short moment would be enough.

As Gilbert's body further descended to the ground due to gravity drove body of his hands in that familiar open palm strike form into Gilbert's chest. The chi gathered within his palms erupted into that large stream of neon green energy as he drove the Double Xuán Wu Palm blast point blank into Gilbert's torso.

Obviously I'll be biased and say that Henry would make an awesome Captain, but besides that I would nominate Dean (Miburo puts a lot of work into his development), Rhia (She has also progressed and become quite formidable) or perhaps Peter.

All based on purely performance.

As the Xuán Wu Palm ignited, the pieces of stone and earth shot forward, not only meeting the scything wind blades, but Gilbert if they got through. And while he doubt the wind scythes would be stopped by the chi propelled stone, it was enough for him to lunge to the side and avoid most if they broke through.

OOC: Well not to toot my own horn or nothing but the way I used the enviroment against a opponet that could strike mne from afar is pretty impressive considering I bet You (Cleric) where thinking I was just going to rush in and get blasted.

OOC: Well, regardless of whether she IS pissed or not, I think Wei's still in trouble. Considering how powerful the captains tend to be, I don't anyone'd be able to beat any captain silly especially if they've obtained prior injuries.

"Indeed!" Kiran said. He put a hand on Henry's shoulder and grinned. "And if you have to fight for something, you're always better off fighting to win, yes?"

"I suppose." Henry said, giving a faint smile. "The Norn fights are going to be extremely long. All of them are team threats. I question this school's teaching methods that the rest of us are at this level while one dorm is powerful enough to stomp on all the others. Rather frustrating."

The staff end shot out and struck Levi straight in the stomache, bowling him over. It then retracted back to it's original length.
