Ramus cringed as he felt the wound. He got up though, and still smirked, in which he thoguth soemthing up on the fly. He realized the game Jose was playing. Hit and run. Ramus kicked at the after image intentionally this time, then flipped over Jose and stole his sword from him. "A commoner?....where are you from? the dark ages?

Jose smirked, then his sword re-appeared in his hands again. He sheathed it, then smirked.


"So sorry, wretch. You may be fast, but you are far from my grace, ellegance, and style. You fight like a monkey, all whilly nilly. I, however, have been trained by the very best. Engarde!"

This time, Jose, having sheathed his sword, began jabbing his hands forward, sending thin, razor sharp vaccum blades towards Ramus with just the speed of his hands. Then, his legs joined the fray as Jose literally began an odd, sensual dance, kicks and legs sendings dozens of deadly invisible projectiles towards Ramus.

[Eternal Torment]

"That's it?" Kiran asked. "That sounds simple enough. But what if the team looses?"

"Well, then we'll just have to do something illegal. Namely, putting on a disguise, snatching the artifact and escaping with it. In these types of situations, having a complex plan is not something the most intelligent idea. Countless variables and the willpower of others could destroy all that work, so a quick and simple strategy is ideal." The clone said with a slight grin.

Jose smirked, then his sword re-appeared in his hands again. He sheathed it, then smirked.

"You know, namecalling isn't really becoming of you!" as he leapt aroudn the arena, then flipped on his left foot, dashing at Jose.......then reappearing behind him, leapt up in midair, and spinkicked him in the face.

Ramon: Tell me abou tit.

"But conversely, suppose there was speed, but no strength behind it...is that possible?" Natalie asked, however shakily.

She then saw Ramus get stabbed, but then in a blur he outpaced Jose in the middle of his flamboyant maneuver.

Everyday...all day...to be able to run over water... Natalie thought to herself as Ramus disappeared from her sight again.

The spirit turned a smiling head to Aisling and asked, "Is something the matter, madamme? By the way, I must thank you for allowing me and my... well, I suppose brother is as good a word to describe us..... Where was I? Oh yes, I must thank you deeply for letting myself and my brother the oppurtunity to meet face to face."

Aisling glanced at the spirit, "Just the current fight," pointing toward the arena with her thumb, "And no problem at all," she added with a smile.

Wilks watched on as the fight began to get underway.


"So, who's up next?" he asked.

"I don't know" Willy said. 'Why don't you watch you dumb bastard"

"Who ever it is, I think that it is going to be a good fight" jason added.

"Hidden blade Form 1, Opening Lotus!"

Faster then even Ramus could follow, Jose's blade cut in front of him, cutting deeply into Ramus's chest, even though he was half the arena away.


"How do you like that, fool? That was one of three moves. No one's lived long enough to take more then two of them."

Jose's head jerked back just in tme, making the kick miss just enough to where it skinned his chin.


Stumbling back, Jose touched the wound on his face and began trembling.


"....how....dare.....YOU! YOU TOUCHED MY BEAUTIFUL FACE!"


Jose then unsheathed his sword and got into a stance. A calm feel over his trembling body as his eyes zoned out.


"Hidden blade Form 1, Opening Lotus!"

Ramus remained calm and analyzed the attack. *increased pressure* he said as he plotted out his plan. *this should be able to work*

Jose seemed shocked as Ramus standed there, quiet....not knowing what was going on, as the "quiet Ramus" was a fixed after image he left. *I gotta make this quick, that things gonna dissolve soon*

The whole arena witnessed as Ramus, faster than the eye could see, chest bleeding, stopped right in front of Jose. "I don't WANT to see the other two"


everybody wondered why he stopepd right in front of him with his fist an inch away from his face. That's when the kick back came. Ramus had broken teh sound barrier, and stoopped righ tin fron tof JOse, to let the boom catch up with him. Jose felt the sonic boom at full force.

Aisling glanced at the spirit, "Just the current fight," pointing toward the arena with her thumb, "And no problem at all," she added with a smile.

"Ah, it seems that my brother has become far too occupied to realize where his priorities should lie." The spirit laughed softly.

"Wait... You're my... brother? But... how...? Who are our parents?" Xing asked, absolutely preplexed

A sad frown crossed the spirit's face as he explained, "You see, Xing, you and I do not have parents. In a way, I suppose I could be considered your parent, but that is beside the point. The both of us were created from isolated strands in DNA, specifically chosen to create an ideal human being."

"I was created 17 years before you, one of the first 'successes' of the project. I enjoyed intellect far beyond most others. But I wasn't expected to live a long life. That's why they created you. To destroy that variable. But as it was, your life expectancy was even shorter than mine. And that's why, I used my own DNA to repair yours."

Elsewhere in the ranks of Lion Dorm, Janos sat unimpressed with the fanciful flamboyant maneuvers, thinking it a waste of speed, movement, and undisciplined economy of motion.

"No contest, the pride of a warrior certainly is no cardinal virtue at all for Wolf Dorm. No, perhaps it is only but pride."

That is, until, Ramus' chest was cut open, and the bright crimson fell from him, drawn from Jose's sword. Janos's eyes widened, his pupils dialating, a maleficent grin spreading across his thin face.

"Yes...yes...yes! Flay him to the bones! Scratch out his flesh!"

He shivered in excitement.

"With that speed, and that blade, this fight just became interesting!" he cried out, to the uneasiness of his peers over the winds kicked up in the speedsters' wake,"Make war unto him! Never surrender! Make him scream! Speed! Slice! REND!"

Again and again, Jose charged, slashed, changed directions, and slashed again, staying faster then sound each time (think Rock Lee zooming over to meet Gaara every time he punched/kicked him. This is similiar to that).


After 12 three foot long, inch deep cuts (all on Ramus), Jose resummed his position, panting slightly, blood soaking his blade. His eyes had turned hazy as a grin split his blood speckled face.

Jose was flung back, but, in mid-air, he twisted and landed gracefully.


"Not bad, dirt blood. You can break the sound barrier. However, prepare to meet Hidden Blade form 2, Slash Dance!"

Ramus then took off from right in front of Jose, and appeared to be moving from several different angles AT ONCE! (think of like that one move on Marvel vs capcom 2 where it seems liek there' sseveral striders cept all in different directions). Thing is, they weren't after images, ramus wasmoving THAT fast. Jose blocked the first few but got nailed by the others, eventually giving way to a flurry fo punches and kicks that hit him hard, with Ramus finishing it off by a hand springed kick to Jose's stomach, then flipping away. *i'm winning this match....*!

It seemed like a dozen Jose's appeared as he breached mach 2 and went all out. Gouges appeared on the arena and criss-crossed each other until there wasn't a single spot left that hadn't been rent apart by the extreme speeds Jose was moving at.

As for Ramus.........


Jose, moving so fast he seemed to appear in a dozen places at once, stabbed, pierced, struck, slashed, and cut him.

Thousands of times.

Red began to weep from over a thousand wounds upon Ramus's body. Only a very small handful could even see Jose's blade as it flicked here and there, scoring untold numbers of cuts.

The entire attack took less then 2 seconds, from start to end.

Jose simply disappeared, then re-appeared, covered in red. Ramus's body then erupted into a fountain of red as he feel, bleeding heavily, yet still alive and aware of the immense pain he was in.

Ramus knew Jose was right, he didn't want to admit it. It hurt like hell right now, all these wounds, but he couldn't give up....he couldn't let this monster win....he'd lived with worser demons.....and perservered. Ramus mustered the strength to stand, and then smiled. *That aws his last move* he thought. "we're even now. Ramus noticed Jose's demeanor meant a nice solid hit or two would send him flying. Ramus smirked. What next would be enough to put him down probably. "If i get htis off i'm gonna be soooo out of it after this match" he said as he stood up. "CYCLONE FIST! Ramsu shouted as he whirled int eh middle of the arena, kicking up the wind temperatures, and pulling jose in. once jose was in the audience heard the sound of fists hitting and breaking ribs, and saw the infamous sword fly out, while the pummleing continued. Ramus kept upt eh clyclone, hitting Jose again and again, saying nothing. THe last hit then sent Jose spiraling out of the cyclone that was Ramus, body broken and beaten, as Ramus knelt to the ground. "I aint dead yet guys!!" he said as he thoguth about laying down but dared nto to, seieng his friends worried for him

Natalie stood frozen in fear. Not because she could not trace the movements of the attack, or from the vacuum and loud pops from breaking the sonic barrier. She was horrified because for the first time in the fight, she could see Ramus.

And he had been virtually flayed.

She covered her mouth in horror. Surely the previous matches had been rendered with hardship, but this was the first time anybody came close to dying in a match. The silence from him was unusual and harrowing.

Gritting her teeth, she knew nobody else would be able to handle Jose if Ramus was done for. She could do the only thing she could think of.

"...get up...," she called, shakily rising, then clapping her hands repeatedly as she yelled," RAMUS! GET UP RAMUS!"

Wilks only drank a beer as he watched on.

Matusmoto watched the fight intently, studing the moves.

His body wasn't durable enough to take this kind of punishment. However, he still had one move left.


Grinning, covered in scarlet blood, both his and Ramus', he began to laugh. A laugh that seemed unhinged and maniacal, sending chills down Ramus' spine.


"Fool. You're losing blood faster then me. The Godspeed allows us to ignore blood loss and pain as we push ourselves, I'll admit, but right about now, you'll feel those cuts I've made."

Ramus suddenly stumbles as the cuts began bleeding, all of them, gushing in some places.

Jose smirked again as he got into another stance.

"I honor you, barbarian. No one but my master has seen this move. Behold, Hidden Blade form 3, Sundereding Heaven!"


Jose moved, and the world slowed.


It seemed like a dozen Jose's appeared as he breached mach 2 and went all out. Gouges appeared on the arena and criss-crossed each other until there wasn't a single spot left that hadn't been rent apart by the extreme speeds Jose was moving at.

As for Ramus.........


Jose, moving so fast he seemed to appear in a dozen places at once, stabbed, pierced, struck, slashed, and cut him.

Thousands of times.

Red began to weep from over a thousand wounds upon Ramus's body. Only a very small handful could even see Jose's blade as it flicked here and there, scoring untold numbers of cuts.

The entire attack took less then 2 seconds, from start to end.

Jose simply disappeared, then re-appeared, covered in red. Ramus's body then erupted into a fountain of red as he feel, bleeding heavily, yet still alive and aware of the immense pain he was in.


And silence reigned.

Aisling and Kagura both stared horrified at the tableau, Aisling forgetting herself swore loudly "Caoch!!"

Natalie stood still, shocked. The Godspeed's effect on the environment resulted in a terrible chaos. entire sections of the arena were painted red with the expired blood from both fighters. It was as if two hurricanes had converged on one spot, rendering everything asunder all at once.

Still, Ramus, for all his insecurity, and the fear he had for his father he thought he had saw, had triumphed morally and spiritually. Slowly, a smile returned to Natalie, whose eyes had grown misty.

"He won...he won!"

She clasped Wei by the shoulders in the moment.

"He defeated the worst yet!"

As she drew closer, she could hear the hiss of eight snakes growing louder in her mindscape. Ascending the stairs, she could think of nothing more than expunging the malevolent diety, the one that had tainted Daichi, the first friend she met at Arcadia.

Then she saw her, vexing eyes and a fake smile that hid a dark, unnatural power beneath. She swallowed and stood tall.

An invisible dome surroudned her in an area of three cubic meters around. She attacked the magical flames at their source, the Astral Plane, shattering their integrity and dissipating them just before they reached her. She stared Mei Ling in the eyes as the smoke cleared.

Then her attention was brought towards the fist-sized crater in front of her, and her eyes widened in a panic.

She rose back to her feet, the pain unlike anything she had felt before. She required a crutch...but also an advantage that her opponent did not have.

Remembering Wei Levi's speech about balance, flow, and anticipation, Natalie drew her Astral Avatar and kept it out of view within her frame, while simultaneously covering herself with a light telekinetic shield. Emptying her mind, she entered a tai chi stance and looked upon Mei Ling's chi aura.

"Orochi was killed for a reason, and it is terrible that you don;t understand that at all!"

Sitting on the bed, Jose rose up one slender hand, curling it into a fist, "Ramus.... Member of the Dragon Dorm...." A cruel smirk crossed the swordsman's lips, "I'll remember that name.... I'll remember that name well once I show him how I am when I'm really serious.... And I'll remember that face when I cut....him....up...."

A chilling laugh erupted from Jose's lips as he walked out back into the arena to see the Wolf Captain battling against Natalie.

"That witch's got no hope." Jose slurred, "Not with Mei as her opponent. But, still, it's interesting to watch, no?"

"But worst of all, is how you claim to be a friend to Herr Daichi, then drain him of his life, and call it love! For that, I can never forgive you!"

Himusha Jinmu sat in the forest near the stadium, silently pondering whatever a man of Jinmu's infinite wisdom ponders... which is really just another way of saying "who knows?"

But as he sat alone in silent meditation, his concentration was broken by the sound of someone striking a tree and cursing to themselves. Opening his eyes, Jinmu raised a single eyebrow and followed the sound, locating its source, Suzume Tenten. Jinmu grumbled angrily to himself about having his meditation broken by such foolishness. However, as he was about to leave, he caught sight of something out of the corner of his eye that gave him pause.

The strikes that Tenten was using, while slow and inaccurate, were the same ones his body had memorized to the point of being able to do them in his sleep. The stance, while sloppy, was essentially the same one that he used whenever he wielded those strikes. Watching her for a few seconds more, he was sure that he was not mistaken: Suzume Tenten was using White Lotus Kung Fu. Walking toward the girl, he became capable of hearing her curses.

"Dammit! How could I have been taken out in the very first fight by that... that mage?! I doubt she's ever been in a fight not involving those ridiculous spells in her life!" Tenten grumbled, but any further complaints from Tenten were silenced when Jinmu appeared beside her, grabbing her wrist mid-strike as he asked "Where did you learn White Lotus Kung Fu?"

"W-who are you?" Tenten asked, but Jinmu repeated "Where did you learn White Lotus Kung Fu?"

"I... I... found an old leather-bound book that was about it! I practiced using the book." Tenten answered, and Jinmu released her wrist as he said "I see... Your form is sloppy, your strikes are slow and inaccurate, and worse of all, you are weak."

"What! I'll have you know that I am NOT weak!" Tenten yelled. Jinmu glared at her and asked "Is that so? Can you do this?" He proceeded to clench his fist, save for his index finger, and pointed it at the tree she had been hitting. Tenten's jaw dropped as he flexed his arm slightly, causing his finger to strike the tree and embed itself deep into the bark. As he pulled his finger from it, there were no cracks or splitting from where his finger entered the tree, looking like a bullet hole.

"If you cannot do that, then you are weak." Jinmu said, looking over Tenten as he said "But if you wish, I can train you to be a true master of White Lotus Kung Fu. You can perform such actions as easily as breathing. Do you wish to learn?"

Tenten didn't waste a second before she fell to her hands and knees, looking to the ground as she said "Yes sifu..."

"Sifu? Why do you call me sifu?" Jinmu asked, and Tenten answered, not looking up, "You will be my teacher, and I your student. To call you anything but sifu would be disrespectful to you, and dishonourable of me. I hope that I have not upset you sifu."

Jinmu stroked his beard and flicked it with a smile, saying "Good. Until I deem you ready, you shall call me nothing but sifu, is that understood?"

"Yes sifu." Tenten answered, Jinmu nodding with a small smile. Maybe this girl had potential.

"Stand, and tell me your name." Jinmu said, Tenten standing quickly, bowing as she said "My name is Suzume Tenten, and I thank you for this rare opportunity to train under someone such as yourself, sifu."

"I would hope so Tenten." Jinmu said, his smile growing slightly. This girl definitely had potential, and maybe she would finally be the one deemed worthy of taking his title from him.

Finally, Lion and Slyph (I re-did it to where they fight Slyph instead of Sun) stepped foward, ready to do battle. However, instead of one on one fights, both Dorms agreed on a massive Dorm vs Dorm brawl.


"Fight!"


It was a nightmare.


Lion held 17 members, while Slyph held 10 members, each a half-breed of one sort or another.


5 members of Lion went down within the first 4 seconds of the fight. The 10 Slyph fighters were all fast, and their half-blood granted them unique powers most students don't posses.

After 5 minutes, 16 members of Lion were unconscious and on the sidelines. However, 6 members of Slyph lay at the feet of one man.


Janos Tantalus, Captain of Lion Dorm.

Bleeding from several wounds on his body, including two broken ribs and a cut across hia left eye, he still stood as the 6 members he defeated himself were teleported off the field.

"Well, that all you bitches got?"

The remaining four, the strongest from Slyph, each blasted Janos with various attacks.

When the dust settles, Janos is mangled, yet standing. He begins moving foward, stumbling yet standing, a sadistic grin still on his face.

"That all you've got for me? Me!? I'm the Captain of Lion, bastards, you better show more respect then that!"

He charged, weaving around the attacks until teh Captain of Syph, point blank, unleashed an energy blast that broke almost every bone in Janos's body.

He was ringed out from the blast and taken by the medics to heal.

Thus, Slyph triumped over Lion.

Personally I think Billy and Jimmy were a lil over the top, but the way this was done follows what was on paper. I mean, if Natalie could hurt her even a bit, Daichi who is faster, stronger, and more durable would clean her clock.

Sun vs Phoneix was next, and they too took the choice of an all out Brawl.


8 Suns and 13 Phoenix's took to the arena floor and went head to head.

Back and forth, the battle raged, neither side giving ground on any front.


10, 20, then 30 minutes passed, and still, the two sides fought on, neither giving ground.


1 hour passed.

Four Sun members were down, having finally succumbed. Seven Phoenix members were also teleported out due to their injuries, making it four vs eight.


Another thirty minutes passed, and only three Sun members still stood, panting heavily. They were the mysterious man known as "L" or "Heron", Rose Victoria, and Angelique Desacozsa. Rose was just about spent, "Heron" was tiring, and Angelique still stood, but she was having to put forth more energy then she previously calculated.

However........

On the Phoenix side, however, stood only one man.

Captain of Sun Dorm, Maxwell Bernadotte.

Bleeding and panting, he still stood, his own psychic energy, boosted by his unique magic, was barely enough to ward his mind from Angelique's control. "Heron" was faster then he, but not as skilled, so Maxwell had actually out fought him before Rose had distracted him enough for Angelique to hit him hard and force him to retreat.

Grinning, Mawell opened his arms, palms out, and let lose a roar as Rose and "Heron" leapt at him, engaging him enough for Angelique to overcome his defenses and make him submit.

Thus, the Phoenix fell and the Sun rose.

The final bout of Round 1 was called, and up stepped Norn and Shadow.


Shadow held 12 members, double that of Norn.



Norn itself was entirely female, each wearing odd looking armor and bearing various weapons.


The fight order was called.


Bell Uruld, of Norn Dorm, stepped foward. Her long, silver hair reached her knees. Her armor, blue and white, shone in the light as she hefted her Glaive and stepped foward to due battle.


Her opponets? All of Shadow Dorm. The fight conditions were thus: If she defeated them all, Norn won. If they just beat her, the rest of Norn would give up.


"Fight!"

Before anyone could react, eight members of Shadow lay unconscious, Bell having just moved her glaive. The remaining four, Wolf Savage, Jennifer Savage, Yubari Ishii, and Lilith, still stood and then launched their attacks.

Jennifer and Lilith pooled their psychic ability and struck out against Bell, but found an impenatrable wall around Bell's mind. Wolf speed foward, with Yubari, and took the fight hand to hand against her.

They never saw her move until they were slammed into teh stadium walls, unconscious.

Jennifer, upset at her brothe's defeat, lashed out by herself. Sadly, she never saw the blow that rendered the little girl unconscious.


All that was left was Lilith, Captain of Shadow Dorm. Her puppets and she put up a valiant fight, but to no avail, and she too was knocked out by the same invisible force.


In one minute, twenty-three seconds, all of Shadow had been defeated.

Thus, Norn rose over Shadow, and Round 1 came to a close.

Well, characterizing battles are hard to come by.

Kelly entered the locker room area walking slowly as he overlooked the facilites. He noticed that everything looked like a mix of a state of the art facility and a regular locker room you would find in any other high school, or working man's gym anywere.

As continued to walk deeper into the locker room, he noticed several doors marked with the symbols of the differnt dorms. His eyes scanned them as he walked pass, seeing Dragon, Wolf, Sun, and Norn as he went to the end of the hall way which housed them .

Selma gave a relieved sigh as she watched Natalie awake. Speaking softly, she took hold of her right hand after the girl had wiped the crusts from her eyes.

Her eyes widened as the rose was brought back to her. Delicate as a snowflake, but hardier than tempered glass, it radiated an odd, warm light about it, yet never seemed to melt.

Recalling how Henry had talked to her earlier about another person who sought her hand, she couldn't help but think perhaps it was Xellos he mentioned. As distant as the Frost Mage was to everybody, it would seem that he was the most friendly to the young Psychic.
