"Not exactly." The clone smiled, but there wasn't any humor or amusement behind it. "After all, how could be a man be in two places at once?" He gestured to where Rhia's parents were sitting, where his counterpart was standing as well. "That'd be impossible, unless there were two of me....or even more."

His eyes were flashing with malice now. "I admit that we aren't like him....after all, he would have crushed you already. But rest assured, we won't seriously harm Alexia here." His grip on her shoulder tightened. Alexia's expression didn't change at all, but it was obvious to Rhia that she was in pain. "Do not inform your parents of this. If you ruin what we came for, there won't be a happy ending to this whole mess." he hissed.

"If you remember your history, sire, you should know that no significant undersea tunnel has ever been successfully attempted except for the railway between Britain and France. Even then, it went far beyond its budget."

He spread his hands,

"Xanatos Enterprises has the financial power of nations, and uses technology far out of the reach, nay, imagination of lesser companies. We can complete it faster than any other potential bidder. Even if it does exceed the allocated budget, assuming the terms of our contract remain intact, we can and will shoulder any additional costs."

"As for your own nation, while your land is prosperous and powerful, I do not believe there are any companies, private or otherwise, with significant marine construction experience. You'd have to fashion your equipment, retrain your brilliant engineers and divert them from other tasks."

"With regards to money, if you were short of it, I would never given you the proposal."

Etrigan chuckled as Selma held her forehead, shaking her head with a sigh.

Charlotte looked to Natalie and smiled as she said "That is true Natalie, but my true name isn't Charlotte. It is merely a nickname Etrigan's father called me by."

Charlotte gave a small sigh, her eyes misting over as she said "He was a good man, but he was also just human. He tried to pronounce my true name, bless his soul, but unfortunately he never could pull it off. So he started calling me Charlotte, and after a while, it just stuck."

It took the combined pressure of myself, Kado - my little brother, and my grandpa to finally convince them to let me come. That was the real reason why I was so late and missed the boat here. Of course, Grandpa is too old for the trip and Kado is too young."

Tamiko looks around again, then back at Justin, "What about your family?"

She put her hand on Rhia's shoulder. "Please, don't judge him too harshly. When you've seen as much as he has....and lived through the times he did, you wouldn't be as human as you'd like to be."

A feint smile appeared on Kiran's face. "Excellent, you called my bluff. You certinaly do live up to your reputation, Raveneye."

He took a relaxed stance, still casually smirking. "This is off the records for now, of course, but I see no problems with it. I will have my people contact yours to sort out the details." He extended his hand. "We have a deal?"

"But I offer them something better. Why build a tunnel to the mainland, when you can conquer it? I can give you the power to smash aside all opposition, and take what is rightfully yours."

The clone continued on. "Clockworks specializes in weapons, as you might have figured out. But we don't settle for the conventional. No, we take the old and remake it into something much more deadly. Why settle for neutron bombs that eradicate all life within its radius, when you can have one that only wipes out humans?"

"In that case, why go for normal nuclear bombs, when you can have ones that have no radioactive fallout, and deliver twice the impact with half of the materials required?" The clone smiled. "Your highnesses, I can deliver the tools you need to win any war you fight in."

Charlotte wiped away some tears that were trickling down her cheek as she said "Unfortunately, we didn't have near enough time together. I lost him when Etrigan was only three years old, protecting me from a "Reaper Demon" sent to take me back to Hell. He used his final breathes to protect me from further attacks by them."

She took a deep, composing breath, wiping a few more tears away as she said "Whether you believe me or not, I loved him and miss him every day. Etrigan is all I have left, and I don't know what I would do if I lost him too."

Listening to Charlotte's tale, Natalie both empathized, yet wondered at the strange history. It seemed to conflict with the history she had learned.

"I am sorry to hear that, Charlotte-san. Though if I may...what was a Templar doing in Japan during the Heian period? Sonderlich...I cannot understand how one would go from fighting Saladin to communing with kami, ja?"

She looked over to Etrigan with wonder in her eyes, trying to guess how many years were hidden behind that youthful smile.

Kiran turned to the clone, as if he had just noticed it's presence.

"Oh dear, oh dear," he said. "Such an overwhelming offer. But unlike our young aquiantance here, I don't think you've really made your homework, Mr Desacozsa."

"I often get offers like this, though yours has the dubious honor of being the most extravagant, not to mention the most forward one. For some reason it seems as if arms merchants like you have a tendency to look upon my tiny island nation and see weakness and insecurity." He looked straight at the clone. "I wonder, what is it with the term 'peace-loving utopia' that you people don't understand? My nation already has far more weapons then I am really comfortable with, and I certainly don't need more. As for warfare, Khanda has never been interested in conquest and imperialism. In fact, our fortunes are largely based on our good relations with our neighbours and our long-standing pacifistic foreign policy. And should one of them ever decide to provoke us -which I seriously doubt will ever happen any time soon- our defence forces are the most advanced in the entire region and more then capable of protecting our borders."

"Incidentally, are you even aware of how powerful we could be if we actually had such ambitions? Do you have any idea what kind of army we could create, what weapons of mass destruction we have the capacity to build and what havoc we could rain down on the world, if we ever did renounce our peaceful ways?"

With a wistfull smile, he shook his head. "Your offer is very generous, Mr Desacozsa, but on the behalf of the Khandian goverment, I feel Í must respectfully decline."

A glance around made him realize that during that dark moment he experienced, much had happened; apparently everyone from Kami to Old Nevadians had shown up, which didn't surprise him considering all the stuff that had occurred over what seemed to be only around a week or so.

"I must have impressed the Master of that particular sect, for he took me to the Grand Master to request my becoming a Knight. After a secret Initiation process, I was Knighted by the Grand Master and given the tattoo on my back."

Selma smiled, but Samuel turned to Charlotte and asked "How did you know?"

"Trust me, Sir Samuel, I know more than you might think." Charlotte said with a smile. Samuel gave her a suspicious look but turned to Selma as she asked "When were you in Siberia?"

"Selma, I'll have you know that I travelled quite extensively after leaving Arcadia before I settled down in Yonkers. I meditated with monks in the mountains of Tibet, I trained martial arts with masters in Japan, and I even spent some time with members of the Zeitgeist Sisterhood." Samuel said.

Whatever strengths she has, there must a price in which she paid for them, when you discover what that weakness is, you must exploit it when the time comes."

Janos is basically Hannibal Lecter given the Super Soldier Formula, and Ilsa I dunno yet, but I suppose she's in that vaunted Uber Tier, I haven't decided

"Would you like some of the best medical technology in the world? Granted, we have nothing that'll bring back the dead or give immortality, but reaching for such goals is idiocy, correct? We only started research on the field of medicine 2 years ago, but we've made quite a few breakthroughs in that time."

"Solving the problem of cancer will still take many years, but we've found ways to eliminate other serious diseases, such as AIDS or bird flu. New, inexpensive methods of treating cardiovascular problems have been discovered. We can offer so much, if we work together. So, what do you say? Will you help us save countless lives?"


Kiran raised an eyebrow. "Ho? That's quite a reversal." And very suspicious. But let's play along and see where it leads. "Very well, you have roused my interest. What do you propose?"

"Oh....thank you." Alexia looked a little uncomfortable talking to Raksha. Surpressing the memories of her own mother, she began speaking again. "It's an honour to be her friend." She looked over to Rhia. "And I would never abandon her, not even if my life depended on it."

Moved by these words, Rhia reached out and fondly touched Alexia's shoulder. "And neither would I ever abandon her," she said softly. "Even in the face of death itself."

"...It warms my heart to hear that," Raksha said. She smiled at her daughter, and spoke to her in their native tounge: "Rhia, you have found yourself a sister." A statement, not a question.

Rhia felt a tear run down her cheek. She quickly whiped it off and smiled back. "Yeah. I know."

His eyes were flashing with malice now. "I admit that we aren't like him....after all, he would have crushed you already. But rest assured, we won't seriously harm Alexia here." His grip on her shoulder tightened. Alexia's expression didn't change at all, but it was obvious to Rhia that she was in pain. "Do not inform your parents of this. If you ruin what we came for, there won't be a happy ending to this whole mess." he hissed.

OOC: I assume you mean inform her parents of his child abuse, since the Khandian rulers already know Alex (clone or whatever) is here. You introduced him to them a few pages ago, though I assume you walked off shortly after since it never went beyond that.

A feint smile appeared on Kiran's face. "Excellent, you called my bluff. You certinaly do live up to your reputation, Raveneye."

He took a relaxed stance, still casually smirking. "This is off the records for now, of course, but I see no problems with it. I will have my people contact yours to sort out the details." He extended his hand. "We have a deal?"

In fact, one of the reasons why I came to this school was to hide and develop my powers away from him. If he had caught me as I was before I entered the school, I wouldn't stand a chance of making it out alive.

Samuel and Selma stood side-by-side, moving silently through the kata of Gouken in perfect harmony. As they went through the motions, Bitey ran past frantically, followed shortly there-after by a laughing Etrigan.

Niether seemed to take notice of the two, almost as if in a trance while working through their kata.

Bitey looked behind him to see the blonde-haired, blue-eyed half demon still chasing after him and laughing. Turning to look forward, Bitey sped up, leaving the child behind him, trying to catch up.

After a few moments, Bitey took another look behind him, and saw he was alone. Slowing, he leaned against a wall, holding his chest as he rested.

He looked back from where he came again in search of the blonde half demon. Bitey smiled and turned to continue his trek through the school unmolested...

Only to be blind-sided by a tackle from Etrigan. Hugging Bitey's neck, Etrigan began petting him until Bitey pried him off and pushed him away, raising a fist to hit him.

However, his fist didn't move as a feeling akin to someone witnessing their own death washed over him. Slowly looking, he saw Charlotte standing above him, an aura of pure darkness enveloping her as she glared down on him.

Bitey gulped and hugged Etrigan, smiling to Charlotte as he did so. Etrigan gave a gleeful cried and hugged back, petting him again. Charlotte smiled and walked away, Bitey sighing as he sat in defeat, being petted by the blonde half-demon.

"Well, that's the problem. Simply put, there will be a World Tournament coming later this year. Schools around the world are selecting teams to represent them."

"The trouble with this is that no other teams will be accepted. This is where you come in. In a nutshell, all we have to do is take the best students from the best school in Khanda and put them in one team. Without regard for status or their previous team, they must learn to fight together to win this tournament. It's so simple, and it's totally legal. But they must be selected within a month so that they can train until the beginning of that grand battle."

OOC: I'm starting to think that my plan might be a good way to bring back any old villains that we have/will encounter(ed). Just bunch them up in a team and say they're representing *insert school name* from Khanda.

"When I look onto the astral plane, I may see the inherent notations of life energy," she said as she swept into an upper arcing motion with her arms,"however, though they are there, and I can feel intention within their presence, I feel there is little I can do to change that course."

It would be physically impossible to change it, so you would block off its usual course, letting it naturally drift to its new one."

Allowing that to soak in for a moment, he continued, "As for duality...everything in this world has an opposite. For hot, there is cold, for light there is darkness, there is the moon, and for good there is evil. One cannot survive without the other for it would lose its own existence. For example...in order to light a candle you must cast a shadow from its light."

Xing nodded, and sat himself down across Aisling. Xing actually felt quite abit nervous about the entire thing. Seeing magic in action and actually being the focus of the magic were two different things entirely. But, Xing decided he could see this as a new experience which would end up proving beneficial in the end anyway.

Turning her attention to Wei, she noted,"When we get the chance, I will try and show you, Shr Fu. Qing Long, Bai Hu, Xuan Wu and Zhu Que, you know them as the representations of cardinal directions, ja? I am certain the wushu traditions were not only just inspired by them, but the lineage may be traced directly to them. they are very real, perhaps I might take you to them sometime."

She sighed. what a mouthful.

"But ja, until I know if I am fighting or not, it would be best to wait."
