"Very good. You're a very fast learner for you've achieved what it would take some years to figure out in just around an hour. I believe that with a little practice, you'll be able to fully control your chi and with that have more access to abilities, such as being able to control your avatar precisely and for a much longer time."
OOC: She just threw a jab at him to goad Wei into a reflex demonstration. Should I edit that?

The Tai Chi style as a whole was too passive and slow for his tastes, but it had plenty of things worth learning from, and he respected its practitioners.
A flood entered her mind; a school of warrior monks, at once practicing an advanced method of the form Wei had demonstrated before her. The dualist teachings of taoism, the paradox of opposing forces working in unison, all these mysteries had befallen the vagabond monk Jun Bao as he found out a quintessential truth: that humans are neither originators, creators nor destroyers, but innovators with the forces in the world around them. Once the monk realized this, be began to move not against such forces, but with them, a conduit to the energies of the universe. Once he had mastered himself and threw his body before it, before his hands nature's chaos complied.
That's amazing. How did you find such a history, Xellos?
Then she turned to Wei again.
Such fearsome power, but with gentle hands...Wei has gone through so much to understand this world, I imagine.

As her fist shot forward, he stepped aside slightly, allowing his hand to brush across her moving arm before reaching the shoulder. As her body followed through in the punch, he placed his hand on the back of her shoulder and pushed. Extending his leg out before her left ankle it would no doubt cause her to trip, yet as she fell forward, his other hand steadied her.
"Once you turn the flow against them, they'll be at your whim. Very good, you're a very fast learner for you've achieved what it would take some years to figure out in just around an hour. I believe that with a little practice, you'll be able to fully control your chi and with that have more access to abilities, such as being able to control your avatar precisely and for a much longer time."

Natalie's footing slipped under the subtle brush of the young monk's hand, and the redirection of the force caused her immediately to buckle were it not for his careful grip. She could do nothing but stare wide eyed.

As for Natalie, it was clear that not only was the witch a quick, but motivated learner, quite abit like himself in some ways, Xing thought with amusement.
"Very impressive!" Xing said, clapping his hands together, "Wei, I must admit that watching your talent, I feel some amount of inferiority in your prescence. I must work hard if I am to be able to legitimately compare myself to you!"
"And Natalie, had we the time, I would be glad to carry on from what Wei has already thought you, though I fear that what I may teach will not be as much use. Nonetheless, I feel it is important that you be able to understand your chi."
"Although I'm not sure if Wei follows the same line of teaching as I was, his definition that it is something unique to an individual seems to suggest we follow similar train of thoughts. In a way, Chi can be considered as something alive. And like anything that needs to be fully mastered, it needs to be understood. That is what I plan to aid you with, had we more time."
"That, I suppose we will be offered more of once we are done with our mission." Xing bowed deeply, first in front of Natalie, and then in front of Wei, "I am certain that all three of us will return successful!"

"Please....just...stay where you are. I'll....I'll be fine soon." Alexia put more effort in keeping herself calm.
"I...I have to break this seal. I need Ike's guidance more than I fear the third getting out."
Without her, Alexia would be just another lost soul. She had made up her mind. Dark Alexia running free was preferable to the loneliness that her dear friend's absence caused.
Kagura reached into her pocket and pulled out an odd looking o-fuda and held it out toward Alexia, "This may help reinforce the seal the sensei made."
Daichi: So your a menace to everyone around you? Wlel jsut ot let yo uknow, your no problem, but should wors ecoem to worse. I'l help stop you.
Ramon: Yeah, we will make sure your rampage will be stopped. Do not worry, we will not kill you, but will get you down.
Daichi: And some how, I bet a certain Captain just LOVES our situation.
"Hardly," responded Kagura to Daichi's comment, she then inclined her head toward Alexia, "You have my word I will help contain this...dark you."

"An excellent idea, Kagura. Here, Alexia, close your eyes."
With that, she used Kagura's o-fuda to re-seal the Seal. Then, adding an incantation, did something different aswell.
"There now, Alexia. The Dark One is sealed, for now. However, what I just did shoud allow your 'good' other self to speak to you again. Can you hear her?"

Unfortunately she was drowned out by a trumpet fluorish, Xellos conducting an invisisble orchestra with his staff.
OOC:
"Hey, what do you have here?"
Natalie looked at the player Xellos kept wired inside his cape. It was a rather humble looking device, a small black casing with numbering and five small buttons. However, virtually anything with a liquid crystal display was curious to Natalie, and she impulsively grabbed the player and hit the |>|>|| button.
Track 02 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aGoGEb7YA4)
"Eh? What?", she asked as she pushed the button again.
Track 03 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5bM1rhIVaA)
She laughed,"Certainly you are a tough boy! But, I am not so sure if we could have fought in the nineties."
Track 04 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qV30Pa7Ri6c)
Natalie smiled widely,"that is so...sweet, ja? What a song, what dedication that man must have..."
(Canon or not time! :p )
OOC: Second song isn't canon, Xellos hates that kind of music. The rest most definately is. That Kevin Campbell disney song especially remains one of my favourites. Somehow, I always envisioned Daichi as that character in the tough boy opening.:D
For now, the link is disengaged till it is needed so as not to wear Henry out. You're back to how much you can sense through your normal psychic level.

"Excellent idea Natalie. We'll move in the formation you suggest. It also puts me in the middle, meaning I can react to whatever situation that develops most quickly."
As she fiddled with his music player and the team arranged themselves, he responded to her comments on his music.
"Fantastic Four was the first super-hero cartoon I watched. It wasn't ground breaking, but the opening holds a special place in my memory. Kevin Campbell sung the other one for Disney. I can't remember clearly if that or Michael Jackson was my first ever pop song. What music did you listen to in your childhood?"

Xellos considered the question,
" I have long deduced that my heart and my brain work on rather different wavelengths. Music as an art appeals entirely to the heart. It does not stimulate me much intellectually, but the emotions it brings are very powerful."
" I guess there's a part of me that would like to be standing on top of a large rock, crowds as far as the eye can see cheering for me...but it is merely a fancy of the heart. My brain points out all the things that go with that kind of life: paparazzi, sleepless nights, fickle fans, the pressure of remaining a role model...its just not me."
" No matter how good my brain is, it can only create the circumstances for happiness. Aside from the passing feeling of satisfaction of being logically correct or having a plan work, the realm of the mind isn't a very fulfilling place by itself. It makes things happen, but it is my heart that enjoys them."
Gazing into the fantastic colours that permeated through the portal, he continued,
" Of course, I have plenty of soft, soothing songs too. They too elicit their own emotions. The world can be harsh, and pointless fancies have little place in it. The songs I keep excite, calm me, sadden, bring joy, triumph, its all there indulging my dreams in a way. I guess I treat music as a sort of escape, altering my mood and perception of things when I can afford to not think as clearly."

Xellos was startled by her question. He was silent for a while, yet oddly he didn't find himself pondering any problem. Just...reflecting a bit.
His heart wasn't so much silent as constantly wrapped up, protected by layer upon layer of logic and analysis. Natalie had struck a chord within him. Why?
...It was lonely in there. There forever was armour over his heart and a sword in his mind.
He gazed at Natalie. She'd made him realise something about himself he had only ever been semi-conscious of, and this hadn't been the first time either. Grateful, he smiled at her warmly, briefly shedding the emotional protection he normally wore like a second skin. He placed a hand on her shoulder.

She gently wrapped her fingers around his hand; a frost mage's fingers are quite cold to the touch. Natalie smiled silently as they walked. Henry's sudden mental linkage earlier had still left her flustered, so she didn't listen for thoughts, and she didn't need to. In those two words, Xellos for the first time wore his heart on his sleeve, however briefly.
"I cannot imagine just acting on logic, that seems far too distant. While there certainly is value in reason, it should not be the penultimate value, ja?"

Xellos let his hand slide from her shoulder, walking hand in hand with her. He didn't gauge her grip strength, didn't assess anything about her. He just was with her. It was an alluring sensation, and he took it in for several blissful minutes till he heard her question.
" While there is a certain satisfaction to be gained from being good at logic, it is mainly a means to an end. All action is fueled by what we feel. Even the desire not to be influenced by emotion is itself the result of emotion. To tell one self otherwise is to be self-deceptive. Logic is my bridge, my road, my ladder, and I just happen to be good at using them. Ultimately it is still desire that drives us onward."

I am Daichi, sucesso ro fthe Sacred Spheres of Creation school of Kung FU. Do not worr,y there ar eonly two people in the school, guy woh teachesand one student.
So there will be no one else form where I am from to deal with.
Anyway, I know ltos of marital arts, and I am very capable fwit hthem. Inlcuding wepaons fighitng.. I am some what fast, not as fast as the othe rguys, but decent.
:Breaths.:
"And my signature attakc is the snake bite, a ki attakc that makes my tleekinetic crush soemthing within my grasp.
And besides that, I hav esuper senses, I can "feel" disturbances in theflow of chiand energy.. I cna evne fele all of your heart beats, and able to tlel who is who.
But I cannot spam that technique because it burns into my reserves and I need them reserves to fight.
So yeah, a lwoer tier stron gman, with some speed, skills, and minor ki.. Yeha, I am not proud of myself either.
;And Rmaon then speaks up:
"I am Ramon.. I come form Brazil, I got aswor,d and very skilled with it, and know some combat forms.. My thing is magic."
:Looking over his team mates;
I can heal small wounds, do magic tricks, and I got a lot of pwoerufl magic in my arsenal... In osme ways I am your biggest "gun." Pre say.
Ohhh and I cna enchant thing stoo, to make them far mroe useufl. :Point sto his sword, as proof.:
Xing nodded as he listened to the two explain about their abilities. From the way it looked, both of them were very capable warriors. It seemed as though he and Daichi possessed similar abilities in that they were able to sense chi, although Daichi's was probably a tad more limited in that it seemed to take quite a toll.
Ramon's ability as a healer could prove invaluable, and Xing's immediate judgement would be that he was someone that they should focus their defense on. From what he could deduce of the role that both himself and Daichi could take so far, it would be a smart idea for either one of them to be at the forefront, while the other remained at the back, in the case of an attack from behind. That they could both sense chi would only make things all the more easier.

"You can do it, Lexie. Just keep on talkin' to them."
"I can use ki too, but not as well as most could...I'm more of a jack of all trades, so I'm good in most areas but I'm not the best at anything...."
Ike smiled to her in the mindscape.
"That'll be good enough for now. Nice job, babe."
Xing nodded, although he felt as if that more information would likely be needed. Nonetheless, he did not wish to make his teammate too unfortable, and decided to work around that. Now all that was left was Kagura.

"Then if I may propose a little arrangement in our movements?" Xing asked.
A nod from Kagura received a low bow in return from Xing as he turned to the rest of the group and proposed his plan, "I say that it is best that we move in this manner. Ramon's healing magic could end up proving invaluable to us, so I suggest that we centre our movement around him."
"Daichi, you take the forefront. I'd think you'd have enough offensive maneuveurs to be able to take anything coming your way. Captain Kagura, and Alexia, you protect Ramon from the left and right. Captain's long range ability should make the position ideal, and Alexia, your well-rounded abilities should make this position suitable for you. I'll protect Ramon from behind, in the case of an attack from behind. To make things easier for us, I'll be using my Chi Sensing abilities. Nobody that comes with a 5 kilometer radius of us will be able to get by without my noticing."
"Are we all in agreement with this arrangement?"
"Let's see. I am 16 years old and came from China, mainly the Henan province though I've wandered around the country for a bit. I was a Shaolin monk for seven years. Hmm...my hobbies are training, reading, and developing my own personal fighting style called the Sì Xiàng or Four Ways...and I guess that's it."
Ramus cleared his throat before he started. "Well, im sixteen years of age, and fromt he domnican republic. My father was a anti castro refugee so I was raised waay out on the skrits of the DR. I had fun playing sports with other kids, but what I really got interested was int eh amrtial arts. I got into it when my dad brought home a copy of enter the dragon, and I saw this man Bruce Lee in action. Ever since then, i've seen all of his movies and studied his fighting style since then, learning and adapting it to my own ideas. I got my inviatation to Arcadia after a tournament held in my country which rose me to prominence as a fighter apparently. I'm also a big street fighter fan! I'llt ake any quesitons as well

"There are three rules in my Family; never speak about the Family outside the Family, always protect the Family, and good men often have to do bad things. I'm a good man, so I'll do a bad thing and tell you about Family matters. Two months before school started I was in the hospital recovering when I got the news my parents had been shot. Xellos was rather surprised to hear this. Oh well, logic could only work on the factors he took into account. Perhaps he'd have to look a bit more before he leapt in the future. Hunter had never been the happiest person, but he'd been growing increasingly aggresive and erratic. The demon was certainly playing a major part.
Perhaps he could leverage his own connections to help him in this matter. Influence in the mafia would be a boon as well. It would have to wait till after the mission though.

This was quite an involving predicament that had Natalie at an utter loss for words for a moment. It always seemed that Hunter was in a bind of misfortune, and though some of the terminology was lost on her, she could make out the most of it.
In fact, coming off of a conversation with Xellos about logic versus passions, and fate, this was rather ironic; the two were at odds because it seemed their minds represented two opposing forces.
"It must be so hard to have all that behind you...," she replied,"...but is that necessary? Such dark things, even for the love of your family, are still so drastic, ja? Oh Hunter, is that really your thoughts on it, or the part of you that feels the need to shoulder the sins of your father? Fated to become a devil? That just isn't true!"
"One has to take responsibilty and accept the consequences. I may hate fate, but I am not one to run away from my problems. I can't take the coward's way out." One day I will find my parents' killers and I will settle the score. And one day I will follow in my father's and uncle's steps. And with that Hunter fell silent.

OOC: I agree their should be a second author. Maybe someone who knew of Clerics plans, or has a damn good idea of it.
As he has applied riddles into this beisdes fights.
And itis this very reason why I prefered Neo Dragonball Z..
Because in NDBZ, you were in complete control of your character up until a big boss fight that clericwould paaly as. (And that hpapend a lot fewer times, only when big plot happens.)
But yeha that is what i miss about the most.. The Indepedence.
Which is ironic because my RPGs are mostly sand box, and yet no one applies for them.

Natalie felt hollow inside. Watching Hunter go through this, and now further knowledge into his ordeal compounded with the demonic inheritance made her feel so helpless and unable to do anything. She reached up and grabbed his shoulder softly.
"Why do you always take it upon yourself to carry so much pain? But, I trust you will make the right decision when the time comes to it; and I should like to think that is a long way off."
Natalie sighed, then removed her hand, and for the first time, looked him in the eye.

True. But I don't trust good spirits anymore than I trust the evil ones. There is a reason why we exist on this plane and they exist on another. I don't really see how communicating with them will change anything in the long run. Perhaps it would be best if our two worlds never meet, Hunter telepathed to Xellos. That mentality, though undeveloped as of yet...would have served you well as a conventional demon mage. And I am glad you think well of Natalie.

You are a demon yourself now, Hunter. You are not entirely of the human world just as the demon was before you. If you plan to continue on your path to Don of your family, how will you reconcile your two mindsets?

Xellos decided not to comment. The Italian mafias were the most ruthless of all generally known organised crime groups. It was unsurprising that Hunter felt this way, and Xellos himself had a ruthless streak.
Nonetheless, when Hunter assumed the position as family head, he would undoubtedly be extremely powerful, both in physical ability and influence. If Xellos could guide and support him towards domination, he could change the face of Italian crime. There would always be crime in countries, best to have the good devil you know...

A demon with a seperate mental entity calling itself its conscience? Very curious...unless...
"Hunter, you are a demon triumvirate. You do understand what that implies don't you? Three in one. The you we are interacting with now should be but a third of yourself. "To grow stronger," Rhia said. "I've been told I have great talent, and I've been trained since childhood, but I didn't start taking my martial arts seriously until about three years ago."
"I have a brother, you see," she carried on. "He's traveling the world right now, but I've made a promise that when we meet again, I'll be just as strong as him." She gave Dean a sad smile. "My brother is a genius. He's strong and brave and powerful. A hero. You might say I have a lot of catching up to do."
"So, when I heard of this place, I naturally thought coming here was a good way to improve my skills and grow stronger. That's really all I want." She laughed. "Well, that and making new friends."
"I see...." It seemed as though Dean had zoned out Rhias statement.
"Dont take this offensively, but I'm a bit curious, and this is probally going to bother me for the rest of the mission, so...."
Dean, this is going to require a portion of your charm-no, all of it.
Dean flexed both his massive bieceps, causing them to ripple.

For a moment Rhia just stared a Dean with a blank look. And then...
"PfffffffaaAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!"
...She let out a loud, heartful belly laugh. She laughed so hard she nearly toppled over, her eyes tearing up.
"Well, at least you're honest," she said and gave Dean a friendly jab on the shoulder. Her face was flushed, but wether this was from the intimacy of his question or the excertion was unclear. "Black," she said, still giggling manicly. "They're black, okay?"
"I so didn't need to know that..." Django said under his breath, though it was clear that he was dangerously close to laughing as well.

Deans eyes had a vacant look, as if he was struggling to process the information that had been given.
Holy shit, that actually worked?!?! I'm more charming than I thought.
Still, Dean didnt expect the question to be answered, atleast not without minutes of begging and pleading for the answer, which would ultimately result without the question being answered, and a punch in the face, for good measure.
The fact that this hadnt occured, left Dean looking like a dear in headlights.
"I umm....I....wow." was all he managed to stutter.

"Hmm.." Dean had a serious expression as he contemplated his answer. "Many reasons, but if I were to give you the cliff notes version.... I want more power, like everyone else here, obviously. I want to be the strongest man this world has ever seen. I have no real reason for this goal, other than I find it to be a goal worth having."
Dean stopped to think over this statement. "Okay, that is not completely true. There is an Island where men who are too powerful for this world, go to end their lives. I have no desire to end my life, but it is still a place I would like to see."
"Arcadia is, as you yourself are aware of, is the means to an end. Another reason I came here, is because I need to settle some...Unresolved matters with some old friends of mine, but as I am now, I doubt it's possible to settle it in the manner I would prefer."
Dean started to laugh uncontrollably. "My last reason for coming here, was because my school drugged me, and shiped me off to the docks. They dont like me very much. I suppose I should thank them. Before I kick their asses."

"Strenght and power is no blessing in itself, not without a purpose," Rhia mused. "But the quest for strenght may be the blessing, because its just as much a search for that very purpose." She grinned and scratched her head. "...Or something like that. It's something Shamra told me before he left." ^^
Django gave Dean an approving nod. "I too see this place as a means to and end; I too search for power to settle a score."
"Me and my master traveled long, both of us seeking to refine out skills in far off lands. But when we came to Japan, my master fell in battle to another swordmaster, a tengu crow demon."
"I loved my master, so naturally I challanged his slayer to a duel." He shook his head. "I failed. The tengu master left me alive. But he gave me this..." Django opened his kimono slightly, showing them a long, furless scar across the left side of his chest. "Since that day, I have trained hard and searched for worthy opponents and strong teachers. That's why I came here, because this is the school were the strongest fighters in the world are trained. So the next time me and the tengu meet, I will not fail."
He gave them a sad smile. "Don't get me wrong, I'm not a vengeful person. It's just that... my master was a good man. He deserves no less."

"Though, I still can't use it; my chakras are still recovering. I do hope I'll get it back before we bump into anything dangerous."
"Me, I'm a magic swordsman," Django said. "My magic is closely tied to my swordsmanship, so rather then casting spells like a mage, I use them to empower my blade. Well, since we were left walking into the portals, we just decided that the journey through the portals themselves was quite long, so we walked and RPed.
I'd refer you to the formation Natalie got our group to adopt on page 287. Also, our group has battle meditation courtesy of Henry Savage, who is able to mindlink the group and thus enable almost perfect coordination and thought sharing at the expense that Henry is unable to do anything else while maintaining it.
So, we starting the quest now Cleric? Or wait till 10 hours from now when peak period starts?

Portal 1, Water Stone Quest:
The portal deposited the five in what looked like a abaondoned village high on a mountain. The chill wind blew snow and bitter cold everywhere, obscuring their vision and making things hard to hear.
Over head, the sky was an ugly grey color as it contiuned to snow heavily.
____________________________________
Portal 2, Air Stone Quest:
The portal opened and dropped the students on what seemed like a deserted island beach. No hint of modern technology was anywhere. The trees in front, an odd fusion (as in the trees themselves are hybrid things, not known to the real world) of evergreen/conifers and and more tropical tress were dense and not easily seen through.
____________________________________
Portal 3, Earth Stone Quest:
The portal opened and dropped the students just outside the ruins of what looks like a temple. Two statues, each depicting a man with praying hands, guard over what appears to be the way in.
The temple surroundigs depict a desert around then, sand shifting around as the wind blew it here and there.
____________________________________
Portal 4, Fire Stone Quest:
The portal dropped the students in front of a large, yawning cavern, 50 feet tall and 50 feet wide. Behind them was a thick, ancient forest, easily towering over most Sequioa's. The cavern it'self was almost pitch black, making it incredibly hard to see into.

Furthermore, the distance between Xing and the source is directly proportional to the time it takes for him to become aware of it.

Daichi: Your right, but I tihnk the fores twill be otot ricky to past.

Ramus asked Wei "want to go ask that man some directions?
Tamiko, moving in closer to Ramus and Levi, first speaks softly to Ramus, "Um, Ramus? I think those are statues." She then turns to Levi, "Should we try the front door?"

He didn't have a good feeling about the statues, but he saw no other way in. "It appears that our only way lies straight ahead, however we must keep a close watch. I suspect that not everything is what it seems." The former monk announced. Having left his monk's spade at the academy, he simply left his hands resting against the curve of his back as he approached the front enterance.

"Just one sec," Hunter said, bringing forth a red, demonic chi aura that radiated heat. "Ah, much better." Hunter took out his guns and began following Henry. "Just for the record Xellos, I still don't trust you near as far as I can throw you, and I'm fairly certain I can't even pick you up to throw you. And stay out of my mind!"
"Is this about the death warning? Got it, next time I'll just wait till its too late and stick the knife in you without saying a word. Then you'll be singing how trustworthy I am in the afterlife."
Xellos replied sarcarstically.
The team spread out in a loose formation similar to what Tamiko had described, searching building by building as they advanced cautiously.

"Or I could find out you have bad plans and shoot you in the head without warning. Or maybe we'll both go bad and kill each other at the same time!" Hunter said, goading the too serious Xellos. "Besides, I was talking about your leadership abilities."

Natalie was still talking to Xellos and Hunter as they made their way through the portal. Not very attentive at the sudden change of acoustics, she was caught unawares as her foot sunk into a foot of snow.
"Ohh! Once again it's just my luck! Everytime I step outside it's snow, or rainstorms, or looming death..."
OOC: Btw, Cleric, I have permission from Kholdhearted to RP the Savage brothers when he's not online. So I may be doing that if a fight breaks out.

"They could have warned us we'd be facing extreme weather..." Xellos muttered.
His school of magic gave him a large degree of protection from the effects of temperature, but the same could not be said for his team.
He unfastened his cloak and wrapped it around Natalie,
"You'll need this more than me."
He then spoke to the group, shouting to be heard above the wind. It wasn't worth expending magic just to save his voice.
" Henry, mindlink us. Hunter, you're his guard. Both of you will follow behind the three of us. We will search the place, take any supplies we find and inform the group of any clues we uncover. The mindlink will warn us if anyone gets in trouble, but keep your eyes peeled. Let's move."
Xellos smiled as the he felt psychic tendrils wrap around his mind, his senses expanding as he linked up with his team mates.
"Danke..."
She wrapped Xellos' heavy black cloak over her exposed shoulders, a decidedly clashing look over the white dress and striped wool stockings. It was a comfort, but smelled oddly of smoke, ethanol and and odd sweetness. Perhaps vanilla?
As the psychic rapport channeled the two together, Natalie could still hear Hunter and Xellos squabbling, Hunter with his introverted fury and Xellos with his dry wit. She wondered how Henry could possibly be used to this, for it would threaten to drive her mad before the mission's end. She sighed, summoned the eyes of the Astral Avatar, and looked around for traces of spiritual energy.

"Hmph,"
Xellos smirked slightly, back facing Hunter.
" Don't worry about it then. I'm not out to inspire you. Heed my orders and you'll probably survive. We don't have time to waste debating how fit I am for leadership, this cold will kill us if we stay still."

"Which is why we're talking and walking. And why do you assume that listening to you increases my chances for survival? Not that I'll disobey orders," unless needs be, "I am a good student and you were put in charge. But I don't want you to get a big head over it."
