Dean looked towards his juice as he spoke. "While we are running around playing treasure hunt, what are the other Dorms doing, exactly?"

"Your abilities will increase sufficiently through these missions to evenly match you up against the other Houses. Not only that, but the Stones should only take you a small bit of time to find."

"Really and what can we expect to find as far as opposition?" He said cracking his knuckles "More Wryms, werewolfs and Sphinx's?"

"I see. That's certainly something special." Dean pushed his thoughts of a massive stone monument to him and his physique.

Dean looked towards his juice as he spoke. "While we are running around playing treasure hunt, what are the other Dorms doing, exactly?"

"Training. However, none will be sent on missions, if that's what you mean. Each House has a set training course, like the Forest Gambit we had you run, though we altered the object of the Forest Gambit to get the Idol. They'll be running those while you will be recieving real world experience, so to speak."

"Depends on which Stone you get sent after, but we'll discuss that when your 4 teams are decided."

The Grandmaster, along with the other heads of the Schools around the globe, have decided that they will hold a Tournament, with teh Ring as a prize, to see what school is worthy of such an item. Some wish to use it for good, others fo revil. That's why the Grandmaster needs Arcadia to win the World Tournament, so that the Ring stays in the possession of the good guys for sure."

"However, before the World Tournament, we here at Arcadia must decide which House will represent the school at the World Tournament. The Grandmaster has discovered that there is a mole in Arcadia, who is trying to get their house to win so that they can get to the Ring, and thus gain power.This person or persons has already killed an old friend of ours, Gregory, Tamiko teacher, to prevent him from telling us something important."

With these items, the Grandmaster believes that he can send teh Ring into the Void, where none may pass. That's why we are having you gather these items. Now, as to why we can't do it, it's because we believe this mole is causing the upsurgence in the supernatural, and even now we are trying to keep a lid of several encounters happening around the world. Hopefully, we can discover who teh mole is and stop him once and for all. They've forced him into excepting a Tournament for control over the Ring. As to why teenagers must do this and not us, we have been Forbidden from competeing by the Fae Accords, same with the Master's and the Grandmaster. Since this is your your time, it was decided that the Students, the *next generation*, so to speak, would be the deciding factor here."

Natalie stood with Xelloss across from where Daichi and Ramon were sitting, still keeping her makeshift overcoat shut cautiously. Her ears perked up at the mention of this artifact.

The Ring of Will...yes, that is it, She mused to herself, The higher powers that destroyed Atlantis. Such creative power used to destroy, ah, mein gottin, so misguided...though, were it used for good, it could be the means to fix everything, remove the strife from the world, feed hungry mouths and end all suffering. What a shame.

The notion of such an impossible artifact, one which gave men the power of gods, was the very reason Natalie came to Arcadia to begin with. To help those in need and share the harmony of the spirit was the first tenant of the Zeitgeist Sisterhood, and she had always been looking for a means to do this.

Of course, such power was far too much for any entity to wield. With the means to do so, humankind had a history of wondering more along the lines of what they could do, not so much as what they should do. By all rights, such a thing must be destroyed. The negative forces of the world were still part of the balance, and given the chance, someone with that kind of power could destroy everything on a cosmic scale with reckless abandon. There was no possible way such a relic could be used responsibly.

Xing frowned at this knowledge. This was very important information he was being told. Were he simply any other student of Arcadia, that would likely not be a problem. But he wasn't. He was an exchange student from another school. And as far as he knew secrecy was something that should be held.

Natalie stood with Xelloss across from where Daichi and Ramon were sitting, still keeping her makeshift overcoat shut cautiously. Her ears perked up at the mention of this artifact.

The Ring of Will...yes, that is it, She mused to herself, The higher powers that destroyed Atlantis. Such creative power used to destroy, ah, mein gottin, so misguided...though, were it used for good, it could be the means to fix everything, remove the strife from the world, feed hungry mouths and end all suffering. What a shame.

The notion of such an impossible artifact, one which gave men the power of gods, was the very reason Natalie came to Arcadia to begin with. To help those in need and share the harmony of the spirit was the first tenant of the Zeitgeist Sisterhood, and she had always been looking for a means to do this.

Of course, such power was far too much for any entity to wield. With the means to do so, humankind had a history of wondering more along the lines of what they could do, not so much as what they should do. By all rights, such a thing must be destroyed. The negative forces of the world were still part of the balance, and given the chance, someone with that kind of power could destroy everything on a cosmic scale with reckless abandon. There was no possible way such a relic could be used responsibly.

Still, he had a point. If they were going to risk their lives, most of these students would want some kind of reward.

As for Xellos, he already had all the material possesions he could want back home. He'd accepted the invitation from the school to increase his powers, have adventure and make the world a better place as he saw fit. What was done with the ring would be the reward itself for him.

Rhia had to admit she hadn't even thought that far herself. As a princess of a wealthy nation she had all the money and possesions she would ever need and then some. She only wanted one thing, and that was to meet her brother as an equal. She was pretty sure winning this tournament would probably suffice, or at least be a major step in the right direction. For her, the chance to hone her abilities was a reward in itself.

I have to remember I'm different, she thought. It's not that I'm selfless, I just happen to have the luxury of beeing carefree. I wonder if that makes me weaker or stronger then people like Hunter?

Xellos contemplated the team layouts.

Hmm, not too bad. Henry is a ridiculously powerful psi-user, and I've got a special idea in mind for him.

I'll be able to continue monitoring Hunter, and his sheer flexibility will come in very useful, though I'll have to get him to exploit his powers more. He's got so many abilities, but he's not exploiting that to make up for his lack of strength in any one area yet. Can't blame him, using chi, magic and psi powers together is not as simple as combining strength, speed and agility. We'll work on that.Both of them have demonstrated bad decision making under stress though, I'll have to keep that in mind.

Sirus has admirable speed and agility, and he brings lightning to the table. Aside from Ramus he's the best speedster around. His kinship with his brother will be both an asset and a potential liability.

Being on the same team with Natalie is a boon in itself, but taken rationally she has demonstrated exceptional intelligence. Her knowledge base complements mine very well, and her alchemy and spirit channeling opens up vast arrays of options for us.

Our biggest problem, however, is the lack of a tank. Sure could have used Dean...or Daichi.

Henry, reading Xello's thoughts walked over and put his hand on Xello's shoulder, "Nice analysis. I couldn't have done one better myself. I wouldn't worry about me freaking out again though, though powerful it was the first time I've experience something invading my mind but I won't make the same mistake twice. As for a tank, I could try to shield people with my telekinesis but I can't guarantee it would be as effective as if we had a team mate like Peter or Dean."

Sirus came over to Xellos as well, over hearing the last bit of the conversation "I could maybe try and move people out of the way if they are in danger but as Henry said nothing can replace having an actual tank. We'll just have to be extra careful."

Hunter and Xellos she trusted completely, and the Savage brothers were versatile and cooperative, though she hadn't gotten to know them quite as well as she'd like to.

However, the passive conflict between Xellos and Hunter had escalated slightly. Though she was sure Xellos would be able to lead the group swiftly and rationally, Hunter's recent defiant nature could be detrimental, especially given his powersource which seemed to be slowly gnawing at him from the inside. She remembered the final ordeal in the cave, cuts crawling down Hunter's flesh as he expired the last vestiges of his power in that battle; she was concerned for him, and was sure Xellos felt the same.

With this arrangement, and without the combat specialists or raw power of the other teams, we can be sure the Stone of Water is being guarded by some sort of magical sylph or naiad. The five of us should be able to take down something like that without a problem. Oh my, is *that what that was? But the rigid divide in Alexia's personality wasn't as apparent as before, ja? Something had happened to her in between missions...

She never felt compelled to wander into Alexia's mind, and the girl kept her secrets well guarded. Still, now that she had an inkling she would keep an ear out for possible signs of aggression.

Xing was not very pleased with Alexia's request. The idea of having to fight his own teammate, even one whom he did not hold much familiarity with, was not something he considered moral. Nonetheless, that Alexia had reason that she could potentially harm innocents was enough to allow him to offer an affirmative nod. Still, greater elaboration on his teammate's condition would've been something that he'd like to receive.

I'm thinking of getting Henry to psychically link all of us during combat through a form of battle meditation. That way, we instantly understand each others' intents, and won't get in each others way like when so many of us got hit by stray spells, or charged into properly aimed ones. We could send warnings to each other, improve our coordination and basically keep the enemy off balance at all times."

He looked to Henry,

" If there are no objections, I'd like to give it a trial test now while there is no danger."

Make sure you're safe when you do it though. We don't want ourselves suddenly cut off and disoriented because someone knocked you out. I'd wager your ability to concentrate on other things is reduced while maintaining the link.

As she got to the bottom, she flattened on her back and took heaving breaths. The punching with Daichi was exertion, but with the blood rushing to her head with Wei's drilling, Natalie was almost ready to sleep again.

It was grueling, but at the same time, strangely heightening and gratifying.

"Xie-xie, shr-fu...hah...hah...hah...I didn't know I could even do that...seven years? Every day? Small wonder...hah...why you are so strong, herr Wei!"

Unlike Muay Thai, Tai Chi does not focus on taking and dishing out damage, but rather adapting to your opponant's movements and exploiting them; much like the water flows down the steam, it adapts to whatever bends and curves come its way."

Taking a few steps forward, he turned and faced her. Raising up both hands and slowly yet fluidily, he drifted into a stance. "When not used for self defense, Tai Chi can be used for many things; opening your circulation, straightening your spine, and for your case, help you learn how to control your chi within."

As her fist shot forward, he stepped aside slightly, allowing his hand to brush across her moving arm before reaching the shoulder. As her body followed through in the punch, he placed his hand on the back of her shoulder and pushed. Extending his leg out before her left ankle it would no doubt cause her to trip, yet as she fell forward, his other hand steadied her.

"Once you turn the flow against them, they'll be at your whim. Very good, you're a very fast learner for you've achieved what it would take some years to figure out in just around an hour. I believe that with a little practice, you'll be able to fully control your chi and with that have more access to abilities, such as being able to control your avatar precisely and for a much longer time."

The Tai Chi style as a whole was too passive and slow for his tastes, but it had plenty of things worth learning from, and he respected its practitioners.
