At that, he was actually just as uncomfortable with the subject of televisions as he was of video game, and decided that he'd change the subject to ease his mind a little.

"By the way, I'm suprised you know how to speak Mandarin." Xing asked, "How did you learn to speak it?"

"Well...your first lesson would be simply to condition your body in order to produce the energy. It is a grueling and neverending lesson and can come in endless forms; From the brutal Muay Thai of Thailand, to the soft and flowing Tai Chi, or to your own pure fighting instincts. After that, you would begin meditation. In order to hone your spirit to project your energy you must first come to know it. It is rather complicated to explain what you seek within yourself, but you'll know when the time comes. After that, I believe that with your current knowledge, you would be ready to take on anything that comes your way."

Xing began to laugh a little, as his face went a little red, "Actually, I never really understood the I Ching too. I think the fact that I don't really know how to read may've been one of the reasons. I only actually started learning how to about 3 years ago. I think I'm getting better, actually."

OT: Well, in all honesty, despite being Chinese, I have no idea how to speak Mandarin. The only Chinese dialect I know is Hokkien, and it isn't even proper Hokkien.

Hunter took out Toban's Spirit Guide and began reading more about Triumvirates. It was an interesting and...enlightening second read. There was something about balance, that for every Demon Triumvirate there was an Angelic opposite, an Angelic Triumvirate. That worried Hunter a bit, but he quickly shook it out of his head. It wasn't like he was the only to ever read Toban's, there was no problem. He read on. Each Triumvirate had once been human. Which wasn't exactly new news for Hunter anymore.
"But what happens when a Triumvirate dies?" Hunter asked. The book did not tell him that. He had seen ghosts on his last trip. Perhaps demons left ghosts as well? He could perhaps one day find the ghost of the last Triumvirate, maybe ask why he had been picked for this. He just needed to find more information on the subject.

And the body is more like a medium for which the mana may utilize, rather than the body being the one that utilizes it? Do not take offense, but it sounds like something quite uncomfortable."

While it is true that magic can be drawn from outside sources, my last ditch attack on the sphinx using the energies being gathered into its void spell a case in point, we are a source ourselves."

" We are part of our surroundings, this is true. We thus generate our own mana as well. Unlike most of our surroundings, we are capable of harnessing mana and using it for magic. As I trained myself to access my own store, I found that just as using muscles causes them to develop, exerting my mana reserves would make it grow, becoming stronger and more potent as my body adapted to what I asked of it. Thus, unlike many mages, my mana comes mainly from within."

"And how would you know? There were no enticements of power. I got spells, big whoop, had I been interested I could have taken any number of non demonic spell books for power. And my power source has always been myself. I didn't commune with anything that wasn't me, I certainly never communed freely with a dark spirit. And as far as the bad in me, isn't that the human nature? Everyone has a dark side they should be aware of Xellos," Hunter said. "I am glad for your empathy, but don't try to offer advice on this. You couldn't even begin to imagine what this is like."

The idea that these elements seemed to exist in another dimension was, strangely enough, something that Xing did not take too long to grasp the concept of.

Eight Weeks Prior to Arcadia:


It was, quite simply, a gorgeous day. Flowers in full bloom, clear blue sky, and the way the sun shined made the stony mass of the old courtyard. Signs of the former beauty of the place could be noted everywhere--splendid columns, gardens, trees at every corner. . .

Now, the large stone slabs that made up the walkways and the center of the courtyard were cracker, most especially in the center: there, entire halves of stone had been ripped up, testaments of battles long past. Yet, despite this, vegetation had flourished. In the crevices plants had grown, the gardens were beatific, the flowers upon the trees large and luscious.

It was really was beautiful beyond belief. You would never imagine that, this day, it was to once again be used as a battleground.

"That son of a bitch--where in the hell is he?" This loud proclamation, made by a young man dressed in a t-shirt and worn jeans shattered the serenity of the entire courtyard. In fact, it made the teenager beside him start violently, having to halt the grasping motion for the large ivory bastard sword worn at his side.

"You realize, yes, that I was quite enjoying the scenery? It's not every day a duel is fought in a place such as this. Can’t you ever simply just be silent, Grey?"

A violent toss of his head, which set the silvery bells woven into his hair ringing, was Jon Grey’s only response. The two could said to be a study of opposites: one with average features and an equally average height, the other almost pretty in his refined features and long slim limbs. In fact, the only thing that set Jon apart from a crowd was his, usually, warm brown eyes and his very unique hair style, which consisted of the whole of his golden blond hair cut short except for the multiple long, pinky thick braids tucked behind his ears. In the sunlight, bells glittered at the ends of each braid, the silvery thread holding the two together glistening as well.

Ilias Lament, on the other hand, was on the complete opposite spectrum. Ilias came from a long line of what Jon liked to call “girly men”. Unlike Jon, Ilias had long, tawny curls of hair to his shoulders, swept back from his face, somehow able to keep every hair from ever rebelling and blocking the view of eyes the color of pitch. The contrast of his tanned skin compared to the tight white zip up shirt was uncannily eye catching, and the ivory hilted sheathed blade belted by the cool grey slacks only drew attention more.

“Besides, Jon, you know how he is. You’ve known him as long as I—if not longer—and it never fails: Dean Gatlain is eternally tardy.”

This statement received an amused nod of agreement from the casually garbed teen, and he replied with a wry smile, “I ‘pose you’re right, Heron. Though the word tardy could equally be replaced with “retarded”.”

“Rot in hell, Jon. You know I’ve got a crappy sense of direction.”

Hunter was silent. He didn't like that last part. Could someone who would so readily mention one having to be put down be trusted? Hunter didn't think so, it seemed too...harsh, inhuman. Hunter would keep a closer eye on Xellos from now on, to see what truly motivated the man.

Kekowa stayed silent. He had his eyes closed but due to former training he received as a boy he resisted sleep. He had heard Xellos's tale. That explains much. Maybe I was to harsh on him. He showed great courage in our forest adventure and I suppose it was his inqusitive nature that called on him to learn more about us. I will talk with him tomorrow

OOC: From this point on Kekowa will have a bit of respect for Xellos, and really doesn't fear him as a rival. However he attention will now fall to Dean who looks to challange him in the strength department, at least going by skill wise. Actually, theer are two Tournaments.


The first is usually six months after the first day (School Tournament) and the last is usually at the end of the schoolyear (World Tournament).


However, due to "special circumstances" both have been re-scheduled for Three and Six months into the Year.

Same here. It seems fesible 5's a nice team number makes me think of MMPR. Anyway on another matter, to be fair, I think it would be wise of you Cleric to spread out the people that dont post as often so that people that do like Hunter, dean, GrandpaGen, and Xellos, me, wont be stuck with a dead team. With one or two late comers the rest can pick up the slack and move up with the story. Not saying anything against anyone personally just a suggestion.

Robert , and Jason walked into the house, only to be greeted with old, dust covered furniture, and papers scattered all over the faded wooden floor. The same floor that would let out a loud, eire creak every time they walked further into the house.

"You sure we're at the right place" Robert asked as he eyes wondered all over the abandoned living room

"Trust me one this" Jason answered back in an annoyed tone. "I'm never wrong when it comes to these things" he said as he made his was to an old, cob web covered table which was above a old faded throw rug.

"What do we have here?" he said as he reached down, and grabbed an old faded piece of paper.

"Say, what's that, eh?" Robert asked.

"I don't know....all it says is "Yellow Star" he said as he looked at some of the over paper covering the floor, and the room.

"Well, don't just stand there, move your ass, and get looking for some other clues" he yelled to Robert.

"Don't get afro in a bunch, I'm moving" Robert replied as he began to look around.

Ten Minuets Latter

Kelly picked up his communication stone which began to vibrate with in this coat pocket. He lifted it to his ear to hear what his two friends had found out.

"I think we may have a lead to who mite be causing trouble at Arcadia" Jason's deep voice spoke through the communication stone.

"Yeah" Robert's voice yelled from the background. "We found something called "Yellow Star", and "Toudou"" he continued. "We think that it mite be the name of.."

"What the fuck is that?" Robert yelled.

'Great, we have company?' Jason said in a calm, but excited voice.. "And, I though that all we were going to be doing is just some detective work" he said as the stone cut off.

Kelly gave a small smile at the duo's findings. This was the first real clue to who was trying to brink down Arcadia, but still more was needed.

"iron-cross would love to hear this" Kelly said as he made his way to find Jericho, and tell him of the discovery.

Restlessness came once more to Levi as he rose from his bed. As sleep came to some of the others, the former monk made his way to one of the open corners of the room, bare feet carrying him without much of a sound.

The month and a half in Atlantis had strengthed him in ways that he had yet to fully experiment with. Even now he could feel his chi becoming mcuh more vast and submissive to his commands. Flowing from his mortal coil, it emerged to the visible eye as green wisps of power as Levi shifted into a stance.

IC: The last of them to arrive—Dean Gatlain. Dark of skin and eye, he wore clothes very much akin to Jon’s, though with the addition of a headband. In fact, he and Jon were very much alike, indeed, both in clothes, height, and commonly cheerful visages. However, while Jon was built like a dagger, Dean was built like a shield, well muscled yet slim. Even Ilias found it downright creepy to watch Dean move, because you could always see the rippling muscles.

Ilias, who had previously been leaning on one of the large stone columns, righted himself and sent a nod of silent greeting in Dean’s direction, and then began heading towards the ruined center of the courtyard. While it is hard to tell, this part was actually raised off the ground, and had a distinct circular shape, much like a ring. “If you two would hurry it along, I have things much better I could be doing with my time. With a distinct lack of your usual bickering.”

Dean made a gasping sound, and held his heart. “You’re breaking my heart, L.” Ilias made an indistinct muttering sound at the nickname, “but yeah, I guess you’re right. Eh. Let’s get it over with. It’s not like it’ll make much difference if you fight me now or later, anyway.” At this point, Dean couldn’t help but make an impressive show of flexing multiple different muscle groups at varying times, as if to an unheard beat.

There was a large, rich laugh, and Jon jerked his chin towards the ring, “Yeah yeah, Mr. muscular wonder, let’s finally find out if my whooping your ass 10 out of 10—“

“That’s bull and you know it—“

“Whatever, sonny. You’re just jealous of my mad sk—hey, man! What the hell!” An abrupt interruption in the form of Dean’s heel had just been dodged, though narrow. “Alright, smartass. Let’s hurry and get started, I think it’s time we finally find out who the real deal is here.” By the tone of self confidence, it was plain Jon thought he himself held that position.

“I’m going to kick your ass six ways across this ring is what I’m gonn--“

“I’m sorry to interrupt—“

“Damn it, why does everyone keep on interrupt—“

Ilias continued, firmly over riding what Dean said. “But, would you two just shut your mouths and get in position? I really do have things to do, and as amusing as you two can be, I have a schedule to keep.”

At this, both Dean and Jon nodded solemnly. They both knew of the pressure Ilias’ father put on him, and the fact that Ilias had managed to get away was a feat in and of itself. Silently, each took a point in a loose triangle on the circular ring, and relaxed into their respective ready positions.

Dean, a slight grin on his face, loosely spread his feet and cocked his head, one hand inside his pocket, the other raised in mockingly as if he was yawning.

It was Ilias, oddly enough, and not Jon, who took up this challenge, making his first significant expression of the day, and responded with a large, smug grin, and raised his blade in salute. Tossing a glance Jon, he saw that he had taken up his usual position as well: body turned, his dominant side facing them, hands raised. Jon was odd in that the only time he truly became calm was in a fight, though there was a small, serene smile upon his face at the moment.

They stood there like that—the moment could have been second, hours, an eternity or nothing. But at an unseen signal, all three blurred.

“Ouch!” Dean screamed loudly. “What the hell was that?!”

Dean opened his eyes, and saw his knife, slightly embedded in his skin. Although the knife hadn’t penetrated deeply, it had done enough damage to get his attention, and draw blood.

Dean looked around the med lab to see if someone had placed the knife in his skin, as a prank of sorts. Everyone was talking, sleeping, or taking a shower, and showed no signs of being any wiser to what transpired. The only alternative he could consider was….

Dean looked at his blade with an annoyed grin.

Oh now it wants to do something. God knows it was less than compliant this morning….

Dean started to chuckle silently. “Man, I’ve got to figure out how to work this thing.”

Levi would arrive in the messhall, though after a quick detour. Having changed into something less weathered, it appeared to be a more formal cheongsam. Royal blue in hue, the garment was outlined in gold, the same hue of the outline of the soaring dragon depicted across it. Taking a seat by himself, he began to eat his meal of rice, tea, and fish.

Xing hadn't really bothered to take a change of clothing for the new day. Then again, the fact that he hadn't actually brought a change of clothing may have had something to do with it.

OOC: Well just thought you should know;) In case someone has to take over for me or something that well Kekowa has a somewhat respect for Xellos and isnt going to throttle him unless need be:D Coniscidentially I will be gone for much of/ if not all of tomorrow. Kekowa couldnt wait to get some grub. For some reason all that fighting and resting gave him a voracious appetite. I feel great stronger and better than ever, however I guess that comes at a cost, one of which I will gladly pay (:D ) He saw the line in the Cafeteria, extremely crowded. the line was coming out the cafeteria itself.

However Kekowa paid it no mind and walked in. As he walked past the line, he heard whispers. "Forigner" "Noobie" And as he squeezed into the top of tyhe line he heard one whisper "Weakling, he cant do that" At that Kekoa turned and stared agrily at the line itself. He carried off 3 trays of food with 4 or five plates in each. Scarfing down bowls of rice. meat, sausage, eggs like Goku in Dragion Ball Z. When he was done he said "Wow now that hit the spot. I think im ok now."

The Grandmaster, along with the other heads of the Schools around the globe, have decided that they will hold a Tournament, with teh Ring as a prize, to see what school is worthy of such an item. Some wish to use it for good, others fo revil. That's why the Grandmaster needs Arcadia to win the World Tournament, so that the Ring stays in the possession of the good guys for sure."

With these items, the Grandmaster believes that he can send teh Ring into the Void, where none may pass. That's why we are having you gather these items. Now, as to why we can't do it, it's because we believe this mole is causing the upsurgence in the supernatural, and even now we are trying to keep a lid of several encounters happening around the world. Hopefully, we can discover who teh mole is and stop him once and for all.
