"It's big enough for us to go through. I've tried it dozens of times, and I could always barely squeeze past it. Of course, it leads directly to the second scene. I'd advise you to prepare yourself for some real brutality."

Rhia stepped up to the crack with a determined look on her face. "I'm starting to think nothing can prepare me for what I might see. But I have to do this. If for no other reason, then to understand Lex's pain."

She started to ease her way into the crack.

"Not bad."

With a ravenous snarl, she pulled the body closer and started to maul it, tearing chunks of flesh off of its neck and chest.

Kekowa eyed the slow Chaos. He cradled his boy in his arm and wondered what he could do from a distance. He looked at the Katana on his belt and drew it.

He waved the sword in wide arcs summoning all his strength and brought it down on the ground, sending a huge slicing shockwave to Choas's back. Then he struck the ground with his fist sending a wave of chi into it it zoomed for Choas and the ground erupted under neath Chaos four Sharp skied impaling him from all sides as Kekowas slicing shockwave approached

That should hold him and the blast should rip him apart.

Seems I just missed Cleric. I'm going to be gone for a 7 hour shift in an hour, might as well jot some stuff down.



From the back of the giant moth summon, Natalie suddenly felt a massive surge of dark energy. One was that of the horrible demon mother she had engaged along with Rhia, Selma and Alexia so long ago.

The other was smaller, a man's soul expanded in its darkness but carried with it a tint of nostalgia.

"...nein...it's him!"



Janos had been exchanging punches to varying effect. Half the time he was blasted away by the strength of the artificial human's blows, but it seemed that he and everybody else's efforts hadn't been in vain. Bit by bit, every peice that was broken off of him slowed his potential.

When he was knocked back again a further time, the Lion, face twisted with perverse glee, spotted Forte and Kekowa preparing something from long range. Grinning maliciously, he dashed back into the fray, and flung his energy-charged shield brimming with chi aiming to take off Chaos' head. It probably wouldn't kill him, but it would certainly get his attention.

He focused his mana upon the chunk and concentrated on a modified ice seal spell. With a finger, he carved various inscriptions upon the ice, his hand becoming a blur as he moved faster and faster.

Holding the chunk in one hand, he pressed down with his other palm. It seemed to vanish into nothing as both his hands pressed together. With a swift move, Xellos spread his hands outward.

A garguantan symbol spread like wildfire from the winged mount, dropping and settling onto the walls and floor.

It was an ice hunting seal, specifically designed to trigger only against Chaos. And it was right in the middle of it.

Kekowa hated to do it but he had no choice he had to protect him and his unborn child. He kicked the earth and a rock slate shot up at his back as KEkowa zoomed away. panting for a bit he saw Xellos's spell.

Although I want revenge since he probably didnt it I hope he hits it.

Gaining a bit of chi back he shot most of into the ground and the earth and chi shot up around Chaos to bind him just long enough.

Instantly, Chaos's form began to disolve and shudder as the most power magic known ate away at him on a fundamental level. Chaos, down to a subatomic level, was eaten away and reduced to nothingness within the space of mere seconds.


But the wicked grin on his face never once faded as he was killed. He had done his job well.

Xing smirked in triumphant glory. He had brought Dean Gaitlin to his knees, and there seemed to be far too little the Nevadian could do about it.

"That's another thing you neglected to notice about me, Dean. Or perhaps you were afraid of acknowledging my strength." Xing cackled, glaring at Dean from underneath his helmet, "When last we fought, I was the weaker. But now, the roles have reversed, and I am the master."

Xing considered how he should finish Dean off. Teleport a chi bomb into one of his wounds? Use his friend's moment of weakness to swiftly decapicate him? So many options, and too much time to decide.

"What I do once I have freed myself is of no concern to you, Dean Gaitlin. You would have done well to escape while you could. You should have just left Shuichi to his fate and escaped with your life. But now that you have decided to stay and fight, I'm afraid I cannot let you live."

Xing pointed a finger at Dean, forgetting that the battle was not over yet.

"And for what reason, Dean!? So that you can reason with me and talk me out of this 'madness'!? You dare imply that I am mad for trying to perserve my life!?"

As if the winds were an extension of his will, the wind blew with immense intesity before subsiding.

"Even worse, you would ask me to do all this knowing that if I were to do so, I can only wait for my death! Wait for it and fade away slowly! Like a ghost that has no place in the mortal realm and of whom no one shall care for once the shock of his very disappearance is over and done with!"

He clenched his fists into a ball.

"And you call yourself a Nevadian. You're just a false warrior who does not even realize what he attempts to ask of one so like him!"

Xing crouched down, eyes still fixed on Dean, "I've had enough of you for one day. Now, you di----"

It just so happened that Xing had been observing the odd hand movements in Dean's hands for quite some time. He believed that there was some skill involved in them, but it was a blur in his memory.

Up till now, Xing thought nothing of it. That was until, out of the corner of his eyes, he caught the knife drilling towards him.

The armored warrior pushed himself furthur down, and brought his weight over to the side tumbling out of the way of the knife.... Mostly out of the way.

Xing roared in pain as the knife tore through his biceps, spraying red plasma onto the forest floors, and coloring the mud beneath him red.

"You!" Xing roared, clutching at his left arm, and doing his best to maintain his balance, "I'll kill you! I'll kill you! I'll kill all of you! Rhia, Levi, Natalie, Ramus! All of them! I'll fucking kill all of you! And Kagura, I'm going to make her suffer! I'm going to rip off your head and bludgeon that wench to death with it! And if that Lilith bitch could do it, me and my master can once we-----"

Xing's eyes widened, for as if on cue, he detected both Lilith and Hunter coming within range.

"Now, this I'll admit I haven't gotten quite used to yet. I've to admit, that my impurity comes in quite handy at times." Xing grinned from underneath his helmet, "This blade is powerful enough to slice through a building with a single slash, I wonder how you'll fare against this.... especially if there's four of its kind chasing after you!"

Suddenly, the blade broke into four equal pieces that began floating around Xing. Grinning, he pointed a single finger at Dean and gave his order.

"Grind him to dust."

"You havent gotten stronger, Xing. If your no longer man enough to hold onto your beliefs, I dont understand how you can think such stupid things! A real warrior would hold onto them at all costs. You're the pretender. "

While Dean found his former friends promise of destruction, unerving, especially his fascination with destroying Kagura, and the others, Xing had already made clear to Dean, the truth behind his actions.

"So....Thats what this is about, huh?" Dean asked, summoning his blade back to his hand with a flick of motion.

"You're worried about fading away? I understand. It's better to die in glorious battle, then on some deathbed, waiting for your end."

Dean nodded his head, teeth slightly gritted, before silently agreeing to Xings silent death wise.

" If you think it's better to go out burn out, then fade away, consider it my last act as your friend, to help put an honorable end to your life."

As Dean said this, he couldnt help but notice the rapid change in Xings heartbeat, signaling a change from anger to something alot like fear.

What now? I doubt my words would worry him that much, at this point.

Deans found this of little matter, once Xing summoned a massive sword, which then spilt into three more, equally massive swords.

Which happened to be floating before him, poised to attack.

Despite his injuries, Xing could not stop himself from laughing in uncontroabble spasms. He'd soon learn the errors of such sudden movements however as his left hand began throbbing with pain again.

Even as Xing instinctively moved his right hand to the gaping wound, the faint traces of laughter coming from Xing did not die out until many seconds later.

"You!? Are going to kill me!?" A tear forced its way out of Xing's eye and he moved a finger to wipe it, ignoring the fact that wearing a helmet clearly prevented him from doing so.

"When will it get it through your thick head, Dean!? You can't beat me! Ever since he showed me that my path was not to reject that within me, but embrace it, I've achieved far more power than I ever could've hoped for!"

Xing's voice rose in amplitude, as his excitement grew.

"That man has shown me that the bonds I've had with you, Shuichi, Yong, and everyone else were nothing in comparison to one he and I shared! Why then, should I have any reason to not betray you!? Why should I choose those who would offer help over one who can help."

His fingers dug deeper into his wounds. Only willpower kept him from recognizing the pain.

“Empty words, empty words is all that I’ve been offered by those who knew about my death. Shuichi, Rhia, Tamiko, Natalie…. You. Wait it out a little longer, and I’ll be okay. Never mind that your death could be counted in days. Just sit there and be patient.”

“Well, guess what! I’m tired of your lies! I’m sick of giving more credit to insubstantial promises over the power from those who prove they can help me. Why sit around waiting for a miracle cure, when I can go out and get it for myself!?”

“You’re right, Dean. I’m different from who I was before. But my will is far more resolute than it had ever been! Now, I refuse to be coddled. This is when I take matters into my own hands.”

Out of the corner of his eyes, Xing noticed that one of his blades had faded away. Groaning, he focused his attention back to Dean.

"But now isn't the time for words. I'm actually working on a rather strict time schedule here, my friend." Xing pointed a finger to Dean, "Someone's coming to ruin our fun. And I honestly would prefer you to die by my hands rather than someone else!"

He gave no indication that he was going to make the first strike. The three pieces of his blade flew forward, their razor edges gleaming with energy, all focused directly on Dean.

"Now, Dean, is when you will know of my power! Now you will realize how different in ability we are since my rebirth! I'm not just your equal, Dean! I am your superior!"

"So fall before me now, Dean! And Die!"

Dean was fully aware of the Blades targeting his back, due to the rate at which they were displacing air. He was slightly surprised, but no more so then witnessing Xings new teleportation technique.

He was also aware of the blade targeting the front of his body, intent on dissuading his attack on it's master.

He found the attempt laughable. He didnt try to avoid, or evade the attacks headed his way, atleast not completely.

Shifting his body in midair, he adjusted himself slightly so that the blades, when they entered-while painful- should be superficial, unless he spent the whole day bleeding.

He contined his attack, intent on destroying his opponent, no matter what kind of pain awaited him.

Jose slipped out the vial from within the folds of his suit, allowing soft fingers to caress it.

Jose admitted that he held a very passionate nature. Life was like a novel to him, and circumstances not only needed to make sense, but structured so that the reader would be captured by emotion that would not let go.

One who shared Jose's fantastic views would find it understandable why Jose was debating over such a seemingly petty value.

Should he, the Son of the Carlos Family, use this revolutionary weapon against that unskilled yet powerful commoner, Ramus Navila? Or use it now against one who posed the greater danger.

Perhaps, Jose thought, Perhaps this is the true battle! Oh mi dios! The moment I've been waiting for! The time when I shall shine over all the rest! The dirt blood was a mere test of my divine will to carry out what I must!

That decision stuck firmly to his mind, Jose uncapped the vial, revealing it to be a syringe. Injecting the contents of the potion into his body, Jose stiffened for a few seconds, and then relaxed.

"Yes, seven minutes. And then we will show that out light can shine even in the greatest darkness, Saddler! We will battle against the unholy perra del demonio and illuminate the Earth will our power!"

"You've gotten stronger?" Dean asked, gripping his sword, using it to raise himself to both feet with a grunt of effort.

"What exactly am I supposed to acknowledge. Dont kid youself. Physically maybe, in anything else?" Dean raised his eyes, looking directly into where he assumed to be Xings eyes.

"You've grown so weak it's almost pathetic." Placing his sword in his sheate, he then began to do something, most people would consider quite unwise. But why would Dean care? It was already a death-match, the point might as well be driven home.

"I dont need to trade fists with you again, to see that much."

He began mocking Xing in spactuclar fashion.

"Oh look at me! I'm dying, so why I'm at it, why not kill everything that matters to me, while playing lackey to my new master, like some dog."

Dean rolled his eyes in annoyance, adding insult to injury, before resuming his serious countance.

"You havent gotten stronger, Xing. If your no longer man enough to hold onto your beliefs, I dont understand how you can think such stupid things! A real warrior would hold onto them at all costs. You're the pretender. "

Dean watched, surprised at Xings lengthy rant, and how he seemed totally oblivious to the attack Dean had launched his way.

...God, he's still dense as ever.

"You really think I'd run away like some coward, while you finish playing Judas with your buddy?"

Speaking of which, I hope he can last a bit longer....


"And I didnt say you were mad for trying to live!" Dean growed, anger seething in his throat, "I say you're mad--and stupid-- for betraying everyone who would help you!"

Dean was silent for a moment, his next words weighing in his mind, until he spoke them.

"If this was the kind of man you'd become--That you are-- I cant help but wish you died that day we fought."

As Deans attack ripped through Xings bicep, Dean was neither shocked, nor saddened by the harm done to his former friend.

Their was no mercy on the battlefield, especially when facing a man of Nevadian Origin.

While Dean found his former friends promise of destruction, unerving, especially his fascination with destroying Kagura, and the others, Xing had already made clear to Dean, the truth behind his actions.

"So....Thats what this is about, huh?" Dean asked, summoning his blade back to his hand with a flick of motion.

"You're worried about fading away? I understand. It's better to die in glorious battle, then on some deathbed, waiting for your end."

Dean nodded his head, teeth slightly gritted, before silently agreeing to Xings silent death wise.

" If you think it's better to go out burn out, then fade away, consider it my last act as your friend, to help put an honorable end to your life."

As Dean said this, he couldnt help but notice the rapid change in Xings heartbeat, signaling a change from anger to something alot like fear.

What now? I doubt my words would worry him that much, at this point.

Deans found this of little matter, once Xing summoned a massive sword, which then spilt into three more, equally massive swords.

Which happened to be floating before him, poised to attack.

"Slash through a building? Should I be impressed?" He drew his sword from his scabbord once more, preparing to defend himself.

"Either way, It wont stop your life from ending here."

At the same time, two shots rang out and two magic bullet slammed into Dean's back, knocking him off his feet and leaving two large holes in either shoulder. Hunter appeared, looking a bit warn out, his hellfire revolvers back in his hands. He kept the guns trained on Dean as Lilith smirked at Xing.


"You have something of mine, 'Healer'.", Lilith said, her voice mocking. She tore her hand out of his stomache (leaving a large wound) and then pried the Ring away from him. She then threw Xing away, his form landing near Dean's.

"Did you really think I didn't know of your presence, 'Healer'? The Bringer knows of all evil, including yours, and warned me long ago about your resurgance. Now, with the Ring in hand, your hopes, and the hopes of this entire planet, are doomed."


With a snap of her fingers, Lilith and Hunter teleported away, leaving the two bleeding on the floor.

Natalie buckled slightly under the presences she detected. She could swear it was him...but all to quickly he had faded away. Before she could curse her luck, she felt three other souls nearby. The strongest was a great malevolent presence slowly ebbing away. The other two were Dean and Xing, quickly fading.

"Nat, what is it?"

"...I know where they are."

On the back of the giant moth they sped off out from the arena toward the outside.

"Ja, I can sense them, but they're fading fast, Xellos! Nein! My magic is too weak, Battra can't move any faster!"

Xellos smirked as he supportively put a hand on her shoulder.

"You get so wrapped up in these things you forget where you are," he said,"and who you're with."

Natalie was confused for a moment, until a crystalline armor began to form around Battra. Ice constructs.

"If you want to speed up, just say the magic word."

With a grin, Natalie turned forward and gripped tightly onto the back of the giant moth.

ZERSTAUBEN!

Fuelled and supported by the magical ice, a hydrogen jet exploded from the rear of the summon accelerating them to sonic speeds.

Dissipating the jet when they arrived, they spotted the two in an empty patch of the forest floor. On initial inspection it would seem that they had destroyed each other, but for the blackened earth and deadened trees. She would recognize it as the Taint.

Grimacing to contain her fury, Natalie created two magical shards and flung them at her fallen comrades. Upon contact, their bodies blinked into nothing, reappearing slumped over behind Xellos, who then went to work putting pressure on their wounds.

Turning to Natalie' head down as she commadned the moth to return to the arena, his cold eyes softened somewhat.

"We'll get them."

Natalie slowed its flight down gently as it set itself down gently onto the arena, where it dissolved into a vapor of thousands of smaller butterflies, gently setting down its four passengers before it melted completely away onto the astral plane.

Xellos wasn't so much concerned about Dean once he stopped the bloodflow with series of warm ice casts, but Xing was another problem entirely. He was encased in a chi armor, the strength of which made it very resistant to breaking. He wasn't too knowledgable in this sort of thing, and it would be most unwise to attempt something like this without proper knowledge.

Natalie went to over to Dean, examining his wounds.

"Dean? What happened out there?"

Xellos' face, normally composed under any duress, was slightly shocked. However, this was it, the moment of truth; there was no margin of error to be had. Doing what he could, in one hand he burned a magical ice into oxygen; in the other, he created a barrier of insulation against the rigors of space.

Natalie was livid. The Ring-bearing demon queen had rendered the world, and perhaps the universe, asunder for her own gratification, a hollow attempt to play God. Everyone was gone; Ilsa, Shamra, Jericho, and the whole of Arcadia. That wasn't what made her twist her face in pained anger, nor was it the cause of the brimming energies of pure mana to course up the entire length of her arms. Lilith was a demoness, this was in her nature as the Bringer of Flames and Ruin.

It was the psionic presence of her servant that raised her ire, a flitting hint before, now only confirmed by the isolation. He was once human.

"If Xing gets free, by himself, or by this 'Healer' then what? He'll either try to get the ring back, or try to kill us all over again. It's too risky! If Lilith hadnt have showed up, You, Levi, Rhia and who else knows would be dead. Hell, if she didnt get in our way, I might have. My concern isnt about saving him, it's about saving us!"

Dean was silent for a moment, contemplating something, before speaking again, "But, if you two really think he cant get out, do what you will. But if he does....I wont leave him alive next time."

This had just been a horrible day, between getting stabbed by one friend turned traitor, and shot by another friend, seduced by the dark side, It easily made the top ten list of worst days of his life.

Natalie's hardened gaze never left her face. Not for nothing, for she was gratefulfor Sol's intervention, and to combat Lilith in her new form was no small task. But even so, this didn't satisfy her.

Tamiko shook her head sadly, "If it were possible, I'd gladly share my form with you. With only half a soul myself, there is plenty of room." It wasn't much, but she had to offer it anyway, speaking the words softly.

When the light died out, they all stood at the bottom of a stone staircase that goes all the way up into the clouds. The area around them was surrounded by mist (except for up the stairs) and the sky was light pink, with a green sun above.


"This is Lilith's Demenses. Here, she has made a home for her and her own. Be not worried, though, for the Pendant Mei had was actually a portion of the Ring of Will from my timeline. When I broke it, it's energies entered you all, powering you up a bit and making you directly immune to Lilith using her Ring of Will to effect you, personally, though it still gives her monstrous powers. From here on out, you must go up and enter her temple. She will have Guardians, and each one must be bested before you can confront her."


With a shudder, 'Sol' suddenly fell to the ground.

"Diana...Daichi...Valeria...Sol...you may not fight alongside us in body, but you're still in our hearts, fighting alongside us in spirit..."

Without hesitation, Levi made his way up the staircase. As he ascended, he found himself humming a tune that was unknown to him, yet felt so familiar.

Please, whatever you do, don't destroy Sasami and Bell. They are you, Natalie, and you are they. Lilith has corrupted them, but they can still be saved. Just like Hunter


He then spoke out loud.

"Now go, leave me here with Xing. I'll be waiting for you after you all kick their asses!". 'Sol' said, grinning at them all.

Xellos had taught himself to never give in to emotion, that such things were to be moderated lest they cloud the logic of the mind. Naturally, his face didn't change at all. Rather, the ice armor condensing over his small frame spoke his attentions aloud.

"Let's go."

Janos crinked his neck back and forth, loosening up his shoulders and popping his joints. He had been battered around by Chaos, but that was only a taste of things to come. This time he would give them hell.

Natalie clutched her staff, determined.

"Hunter, I'm coming for you."
