"You know, things always seem the same to us whenever we look at them from a distance. If we could see each star, examine each pebble, we'd note the countless things that make them unique. We just group things together like stars or humans due to some shared common traits."

"I've tried defining my personality a few times before, but I found that no matter what, the definition always turned out to be wrong. We change constantly, from day to day, building our character through each experience. Living according to an old idea of what we believe ourselves to be may be comforting for a time, but it is ultimately folly. We build and refine and demolish ourselves both unconsciously and as we see fit. Sometimes, shit happens that overwhelms us. Traumatising events like parents dying, witnessing brutal acts, demon corruption..."

He turned his gaze from the stars to meet Hunter eye to eye,

Reaching into his coat, Kelly pulled out a small, green stone that glowed in his hands.

"You two had a long enough break" he said as he pressed on the center of the stone with his thumb. With that one touch, the stone began to shake, and glow even brighter, casting a ghostly green glow over Kelly.


"Rober, Jason" he began to speak into the stone. "You two lads are going to do some searching for me" he continued to speak. "I want you to find out who is trying to bring down Arcadia, and silence them once, and for all" he said in a serious tone. "Also, find out where Ronin is....and tell him to come to" he finished.

The stone ceased glowing, and he placed back into his pocket.


Toronto, Canada: Toronto Community College Hockey Rink

A young man with blond hair covered, blue eyes, long nose, black cap, black wind-breaker, black jeans, and black boots was sitting up in the deserted bleachers of the rink, watching the home team lose 5-0.

"Come on, eh" he yelled.

"My grandmother can play better hockey then thay" he yelled down to the hockey players below.

Just then his attention turned a strange rumbling in his pocket. Reaching in, he pulled out the same green stone that kelly had spoken into. Bring it closly to his ear, the young man heard the message.

"Time to go" he said as he grabbed the two sheather Katana's beside his seat.

With a flash, he left the arean.

At the very same time, a man weraing a ragedy samurai outfit, afro, and holding a long sword was facing off against a crow or riot police.

"Put down the sword" one them warned as the closed in on him.

The samurai only looked back at them with cold eyes, gripping the handel of his sword tightly. Going to move aganist them police, he was stopped when he felt a small vibration in his pocket. Taking his hand off the the grip, he reached into it, and also pulled out a green stone. Kelly's message then played to him.

"Can't play right now" he said quitely to the police as the placed the stone back into his pocket. "Have something to take care of" he said as he jumped into the air, and over the rito police. Before they could do anything, he vanished, off to help out Kelly.

OT: A lot of the action seems to happen when I'm asleep or at work, but I will continue to keep up as best I can. :) Sorry if I got a little cranky earlier.

The inner courtyard wasn't much of anything, after entering teh main gates. However, once they got past the rubble, they saw the real Xanadu.



Vines and ivy had overgrown and broken at least 80% of every stone building in the First Sectrum (where you just entered). Only two 50 foot tall statues and two buildings looked evenly remotely safe. Three pathways led into other parts of the city, one to the north, one to the west, and one to the east.

OT: I'm calling it a night aswell. Please, stay in the First Sectrum for now (dark is falling anyways in Xanadu, so I suggest you find shelter. Night isn't pleasant in this place).


And no monsters! Only because I'll be back on in the morning and most of tomorrow (no work tomorrow) so I'll be continuing this right quick.:) But please, fell free to talk amongst yourselves.

Justin cracked his knuckles as he looked around. The city looked pretty amazing from the outside. But once he was inside he couldnt help but feel on edge. It was hard for him to even consider sleep at a time like this. But he had little choice but to try as he didnt know when they'd be attacked again and he intended to fight this time.

"So this is Xanadu. Heh." he scoffed, idly kicking a chipped piece of the old relief,"High culture, so overrated. All they got is a monument that'll be ignored forever."

Levi nodded, "Kubali Khan was the grandson of Genghis Khan, however, civil war between him and his brother over who would be the newt Great Khan led to the eventual downfall of his Mongol Empire."

As the group re-grouped, true night fell and the full moon bloomed overhead the ruined city. Strange animals hooted and howled in the forest outside, but none came inside the city limits.



As the group began drifting off, a shadowy figure tunneled from underground and popped out just inside teh city gates.


Beggan sniffed, then hurried away, still seeking his marked prey.


Another denizen of the night was also coming up near the group. This one, however, was distinctly humanoid looking. It circled the group as they rested, keeping just out of sight in the shadows. A small snarl escaped it's parted fangs as it's red eyes reflected breifly off the moon.

OOC: They'll have the first oppurtunity though. Xellos is somewhat aware he is attracted to her, but he doesn't have Natalies' crush. At present he's dealing with his own guilt over Hunter becoming a demon, trying to continue to be a good guide to him and be a good leader.

I was thinking I'd see whether it was appropriate in chapter 2 or 3, and I realistcally can't see Xellos acting on anything he may feel for her during this quest. So Selma, who is acutely aware she's attracted to Natalie and is itching to tell her, has the ball in her court for now.

Of course, all of this is assuming Natalie is willing to play ball.

Call him crazy, but Wei Levi wasn't exactly ready to go to sleep. Raised going to bed extremely late training only to wake up extremely early to train tended to make one like that, but he wasn't awake just because of that. No, while he had no clue of what was out there, basic instinct told him that something was. Keeping his glance to the darkness, he waited to see if it was his mind playing tricks with him, or perhaps of something did lurk just beyond his sight.

The reprieve from the horrors of the forest was long. Minutes seem stretched as the students finally had somewhere to rest, a period of silence and resting.

Natalie sat by a wall next to Django and Selma, wedged in between the two in a conversation about fighting techniques and magical weapons. Though not to be rude, and indeed fascinated with the subject of combat magic, terminology like 'battoujutsu' and 'ukemi' and 'slip into left cross' she did not understand.

Suddenly, her astral senses picked up on something. Unlike the forest, this building was not alive, or the magic contained within at least dormant, and she could sense...something, perhaps hidden in the shadows, or in the ground.

She excused herself and stood up to have a look around.

There was a bright flash, alerting and awakening everyone. "Yo, scary something is here, WAKE UP!"

Manhandled like a mere child's toy, he was flung away. Twisting in the air, he managed to hit the wall of the house feet first. Though planning to use the wall like a springboard, it proved too fragile and Levi crashed in.

1: Snake bite wit h both hadns, at the neck, twist til neck snaps and pull head off Sub Zero style

2: Snake bite along the wolfs back to stun it, and Ramon slice it's hea doff.

3: Hodl it in palce and allow Ramon/someone else to cut out/destroy the heart.

But yeah, I used the Daichi Bulel troutine, as it sems everyone lvoes using him in such a way.

Xellos shielded himself from the blast, having barely finished the impromptu spell, then leaped away. That wouldn't hold it for long.

Finally Thought Kekowa as he rushed into battle This is what Ive waited for, a chance to display my skill, I will Attack this Beast personally. However We must also have a plan. "RAAAAAH, Foul beast now you face a Demon!" Kekowa screamed at the beast to get his attention. "Fighters swarm in from all sides, attack from all angles and overwhelm it, or at least delay it untill the casters can kill it." Kekowa Pulled back both fists "Double barrel blast!" HE summoned all his strength and aimed for the creatures gut.

Leaving the arm pinned, Levi charged once more toward the incomplete lycan. It seemed a repeat of his earlier failed attempt, however, he hoped the results would be different. Right foot planted itself with a stomp as he came to a stop, positioning Levi in that traditional horse stance as he drove an open palm strike against the beast's chest. For those who had watched him in combat before, it wouldn't be a surprise when the explosion of green ki came upon impact of his strike.

IC: You walked along the twisting corridor paths of the Second Sectrum, weaving around broken buildings, ivy vines, and fallen statues. The sun, with the altered time, moved quickly, and soon noon had already apssed you all by. However, the sun seemed to keep the creatures inside Xanadu at bay, for you saw none during the trek.


Finally, you halt in front of what was once a mighty water fountan in the Burning Plaza to take a small break (having moved for over four hours already).


The Spire in the distance seemed only slightly closer though.
