Nice fuzzy images. Two things: one, in opposition to the claim, is the unclarity of the pictures and the likelihood that out of an entire forest, a sasquatch just happened to wander into plain sight of a security camera with night vision flash; and two, in slight favor of the claim, if that isn't just an extremely mangy bear with unusually long limbs or an errant primate in the North American woods, the likelihood of a man in a Bigfoot costume wandering through the woods in pitch black hoping to be caught on fuzzy camera is pretty unlikely.

Still, as always, no decent evidence, so... yeah.

Honestly, I'm willing to be open on this one.

First, the photographer had baited the trail, is a deer hunter, and was basically trying to see how many deer come through there, before hunting season started. He wasn't some "bigfoot hunter."

Second, I found it signficant in pic 3 that it *looks* like the forearm on the viewer's right (if the animal is facing the camera, it's hard to tell) has the forepaw turned *under*---a typical pose you see in apes, but I've never seen a bear do it. The paw has a "walking on the knuckles" stance that you commonly see in apes.

Is it a native North American ape, commonly known as "Bigfoot"? I don't know... but going by the photos alone, it really doesn't look like a bear to me. Further, going by the skin showing through the thin fur in places, and the length of the arms, if it's a man in a suit, it's a hellaciously good suit---which would be *quite* expensive---plus, hellaciously good and knowledgeable body posturing acting and movement, for a guy in a suit. For one thing, with the length of the arms, using such a suit would require using internal extensions in the arms.

Not saying it *isn't* a hoax... but sometimes if it walks like a duck and quacks like it duck, it really is a duck. And, even the rarest animals get photographed at times... especially if the camera happens to be in an area that's their natural habitat.

In other words, compared to some of the really crappy photography done before... if the facts are as stated in the article, I'm willing to go with the idea that it probably is a North American Ape.

So... am I all excited about this? Not really. "New" (as in, we've never caught clear evidence of it before) creatures are discovered all the time, in other parts of the world. Heck, about ten years ago, some office worker in NYC noticed that the ants plaguing her desk were white, called someone up who brought in experts... and it turned out it was a previously-unknown species of ant.

Go figure.

Escaped Chimp?

This better not mean the events in Escape from the Planet of the Apes are coming true.

I happen to believe in the probable existence of "Bigfoot" and have studied the subject quite a bit. The animal in those pics is no bear. But I'd say it's more likely to be a chimpanzee or something similar rather than a baby Bigfoot...possibly an escaped/abandoned pet or an escapee from a research facility.

I think Bigfoot is more of a debate team type.

I'm by no means certain that Bigfoot exists but I would like to think so (if that makes sense). Unfortunately, the state of these pictures just add to the debate instead of giving me the proof we all need. :o

BFRO is the same website that bought into Penn & Teller's hoax bigfoot video, so I'm going with "No, it's a bear."

Maybe it got on the piss with some uni students and ended up getting it's head shaved.
