Your ideas for a marvel Halloween Event

Just thought this might be a fun idea to toss around.

So, what would be your plan for a huge event storyline with a nice Halloween theme to it?

Me, I'd set up Dracula making some deal with Mephisto to amp up his abilites or something. From there, he sets a trap to lure most of the big name (and lots of the smaller name) heroes and turns them into MARVEL ZOMBIES! (or a reasoable facsimilie since we have to make most of them normal by the end of the storyline.)

With Dracula and his army of Marvel Zombies doing Dracula and Marvel Zombies thype things, it's up to the remaining heroes that weren't sucked into the trap to step up to the plate.

These guys are the loners, the weirdos, and the freaks. People like Man-Thing, Werewolf by Night, Ghostrider, MoonKnight, Blade, Brother Voodoo, etc etc.

It woudl start with Blade finding a Vampire club and when he goes in they are twice as hard to kill. He does end up winning. It turns out that Mephisto gave set up a monster mob and Dracula is the leader of the Vampires and their powers are uped. A new Werewolf character is the leader of a bunch of super powerful Werewolfs. Zombie Hordes are running wild through NYC (it starts there) While all the heroes are busy fighitng Vamps, Weres, and Zombies Dr. Starange leads the team of Ghost Rider, Blade, Werewolf by Knight, Man-Thing, and Howard the Duck. Blackheart and some other baddies ifght the team. Satan and Ghost Rider fight.

I know that little experiment from the 90's wasn't exactly the well received, but I think the notion of a few of the supernatural heroes coming together in a time of need has value.

Or a one-shot with a series of stories like the DC special featuring Blade, Ghost Rider, Werewolf by Night, Dr. Strange, Morbius, and so on.

Obnoxio the clown , gets sick of people laughing at him so he goes to mephisto and gets a power upgrade and become obnoxious the evil clown and goes on a killing spree. ;)

I actually wrote a pretty thorough outline of a fan fic I was gonna write it. It was called the Midnight Train. It would introduce a herald, called the Conductor, of some evil being that rode around earth on a demonic looking type train. The whole premise would be something like Dr. Strange is kidnapped by the Conductor and taken to Mephistos realm. Around the earth there are ancient columns that help in holding up the dimensional barriers of this universe. Basically,recruit a lot of super natural villains to destroy the columns and heroes that try to prevent them. Anyway in some parts of the earth as the columns are destroyed other dimensions begin to leak into 616. So I would have Nightmare, Urthona,lilith, and zarathos return. Unbeknownst to the main villain Clea would return merged with Strange and she would release Stephen. It was kind of a deus ex machina idea. End of story Clea would do some kind of spell that transfers all supernatural creatures and energies in an exact replica of Earth. Kind of like a supernatural counter earth. Some heroes would be sucked onto the other earth and depowered. i also wanted to create a new gargoyle, bring simon garth to the midnight sons along with Sleep Walker, and Moon Knight.

I gave this some thought in my usual meditative state - washing the dishes - and found my thoughts drifting more towards tension and creepiness than action, even of the supernatural variety - I think that'd feel more Halloween-y than a big event, with lots of heroes and villains fighting it out. So rather than amassing all the heroes I could find, I just picked Cloud 9, from Avengers: The Initiative, seeing as she's a favourite of mine. This is what I'v got at the moment - I'm mainly making this up as I go, so bear with me.

We open in the Initiative barracks, with the rookies getting some shut-eye after a long day. In the middle of the night the base alarms sound; Cloud 9 thinks it's another surprise drill, but then Gauntlet shows up and yells at the rookies to get into the shelters, and you don't argue with Gauntlet yelling orders. Cloud 9 runs along with everyone else, but as they're going something indistinct bursts through the room and she's knocked out. Fade to black (you just know nothing good's going to happen here)...

She wakes up - everything's quiet. No sirens, no people, nothing - she tries the base comms, but there's no answer. She goes outside and finds half the base is in ruins, terrible damage, huge craters, a still mist hanging over what's left of the base; it's like Galactus showed up and just kicked the crap out of everything.

She makes for the entrance to the base shelters - the huge reinforced doors have been torn open, and outside them is Gauntlet's body. His mecha-arm has been ripped off, and he's holding a pistol, empty - he went down fighting. Cloud 9 ventures into the shelter, an underground survival complex, and finds more bodies: the rookies, all dead. Some broken, some slashed, some torn apart - all different. Hardball's stomach has been bitten out, blood loss killed him; not far from him is Komodo, dead but physically undamaged - the blood and flesh in her mouth isn't hers; Rage looks to have shot himself; Thor Girl's been crushed; there's not a lot left of Slapstick. Cloud 9 bolts - someone in the shadows watches her go.

Once she's finished throwing up, she heads for the base control room. More bodies - War Machine is still in his armour, which has been punched through from front to back; Von Blitzschlag has been dissected; Yellowjacket looks to have exploded. Cloud 9 tries to get the comms gear working, but there's no reply on any channel, none of the off-base links are even working. She gets frustrated and smacks the controls, her powers augment the blow and smash them - she cringes from the sudden loud noise, then hears something moving in one of the offices.

She creeps in nervously, and finds Justice, alive, barely - his legs and arms are broken, his face is burned and scarred, and there's massive internal bleeding. Cloud 9 tries to help him, but she can't; while she fumbles around, he manages to tell her that he was left alive on purpose - whatever killed the others and nearly killed him wanted him to last just long enough to be found. Cloud 9 tries to ask him who it was, but he can't hear her. She crouches down in front of him, so he can see her face - he lifts his arm, tries to grab her, but the breaks are too painful; he summons one last telekinetic shove, but all he can manage is to push her away, and the effort is too much for him to survive.

Cloud 9 runs back to the control room and tries to play back the surveillance logs - she doesn't have the clearance level, but she smashes at the system in frustration/anger/fear, and finally it breaks, and some of the logs start playing - indistinct images, blurry, static, cutting in and out. She sees the control room being attacked, everyone dying, then the shelter, Gauntlet trying to defend the door, failing, then inside, screams and violence. She sees Gauntlet, missing his arm, shooting at the enemy, a blurred figure, then a tendril of gas whips out and kills him - the picture clears just long enough for her to see the figure is her, and it turns and looks right into the camera, right at her. Then the image vanishes, and the damaged system goes into current surveillance, showing Cloud 9 an image of herself looking at the screen, showing herself looking at the screen, and so on, endless images. Then she sees a shadow move on the floor behind her, and realises something's in the room with her.

She spins around and sees...

Well, that'd be telling :p

Wanda accidentally mumbles 'Loads of vampires', and the world is quickly overrun. Heroes unite and fight down to the wire. Then Wanda de-woogies it all. End.

It was called the Supernaturals. It also had the coolest version of Jack o' lantern yet, even if he was just a rip-off of Lord Pumpkin.

I would have the Thing and his poker buddies telling ghost stories in the style of E.C. comics/Tales from the crypt - and the ghost stories would feature Man Thing, Satanna, etc...

That sounds remarkably fun. Even better if you make them camping out for no aparent reason.

It's a shame that a five week October was wasted, but I would like to see Dracula return in a MAX series.

A reuninion Midnight sons mini series would pretty much do it. Dracula would be cool if he were involved but whatever works. That pretty much has alot of monsters involved there and more could be worked in.
