Boy, it's taken a while but the writing team seems to have come back to a team with a balance of aggressive powers and those that need to be used more creatively. Pixie's a combination of Jay and Wallflower, while David might as well be getting his original powers back.

Shame they had to nix good characters before they actually decided to get creative :(

The reason why I don't like Nori anymore is because she is uptight and angry but she's neither endearing nor hilarious or any mixture of the two. This first page is a move in the right direction, though.

Anyway, I liked all of it except for the new triangle brewing. Its like a revisit of Laurie/Josh/Wither that I'm just not interested in the slightest.

Loa proves her worth though in one word. <3

And I never hated Nico!

I think Nori is acting pretty much as you might expect for a teen girl in her situation. She has a lot of pressure with the responsibilities of leadership and her concern for David so she's become illogical and rather abrasive. This doesn't make her very sympathetic but certainly understandable.

She DID mentor him!! Rahne was the advisor to the Paragons Squad. Nick was on the Paragons Squad! I really liked the scene where Rahne tells the group that the New Mutants beat them. The New Mutants calmed the Hulk in like, 30 seconds or something (cus of Laurie's Pheromone powers) but the Paragons took OUT the Hulk!! Nick was confused that even though they defeated the Hulk, they still lost the exercise cus the New Mutants did it faster, but without defeating the Hulk. I love Nick!

No, you're right, for real. His old powers were boring, the character became more interesting without it, as just a normal very smart kid.


David: I'm worried. They said he wouldnt be able to learn anything new. What does that mean? Are they just referencing the fact that he lost his powers? Or does it literally mean his brain wont have room for anymore knowledge? He wont learn any new languages or skills or fighting moves? I suppose he wont need to. He'll know how to fight like Wolverine, he'll have Cyclops' strategic abilities (and his own were never that shabby) and he'll have Beast's and Shadocat's scientific knowledge. He'll literally be the smartest X-Man we have.

But this kind of puts him down the same path as Josh. The "too powerful for their own good" path. What if he dies?? I'm scared he's going to die!

To be honest, while i like the character and hate how they are killing the cast, if he gets the knowledge again, i hope he dies. Elixir already fills the "boring can do anything" character.

Because the Purifiers found one of Dust's old Burqas. Whenever Predator X gets the scent of a mutant, he doesnt stop hunting that specific mutant until the mutant is dead. He sniffed at the Burqa, so he wont stop until he's found the owner.

That being said, we should remember that X-23 stole one of Dust's Burqas to pretend to be her during the Purifier arc...

Well, (prepare yourself) in Phoenix Warson, the Phoenix Force joined the Cuckoos briefly, and it was revealed that the Cuckoos could also turn into a Diamond form like Emma. So to stop the Phoenix Force from attacking, the Cuckoos trapped it inside their hearts by turning just their hearts into Diamond. So now their hearts are permanently diamond, with the Phoenix Force trapped inside. And since their hearts are diamond, they will never feel any emotion ever agian. Because as we all know, the heart is the source of all emotion in humans. Not the brain. Nope.

And side now: OW!! I just pulled a splinter out of my hand... it killed. I used a thumbtack. That probably wasnt a good idea. But it was killing me. I wish Josh or David were here. David would know how to remove it using his shnazzy medi-skills, and Josh would stop the pain.

I found it odd that Julian was concerned about Laura before she even made a sound. He never showed any feelings for her or knowlege of her feelings before. Not big on the pairing but we'll see.

Match is of course the greatest background kid :)

The Cuckoos didn't screw Josh up, he was messed up to begin with; Angry kid, Zen kid, then he seemed fine for a bit after the Cuckoos gave him knowledge, then he went all emo after returning from Limbo. The kid's kinda bi-polar or something.

Skottie does Julian all emo too. I wonder if that's in the script or not. He's lost all his charisma and most of his attitude. He seems kinda depressed to be honest.

Someone asked about the skills David acquired before M-Day. It'd be the combined skills of well over 500 people, probably over a thousand. Every person he came in range to since his mutation emerged. His family, friends, school, people he walked by in his home town, almost everybody who's lived in the X-Mansion since the Morrison era up to Decimation, so 200 students (which includes X-23), a few dozen X-Men and some miscellaneous others including Blob and the Reavers. He'll know how to play the guitar (Jay), expert computer skills (Kitty) chemistry/biology (Beast), combat skills (Wolverine), a variety of languages. He'll be stacked. But if he can't learn any new skills after that, his future is bleak. Say when the new computer software comes out, I'm not sure he'd be able to learn it. And I'm not sure he'll be much of an inventor if he can't learn new skills. It's definently a trade off.

Nori is one of my favorites in this book. I like her fire, and I like that they're explaining part of her angry issues in this one. I get how the anger thing grates on people though.

I think its a little bit of both Skottie and C&C. They described him a certain way to Skottie, so Skottie did the redesign going off their description, and gave him long hair and stuff. They told Skottie that he's not a pretty boy who cares about his looks and things. But the thing is.. he was. I suppose now he isnt, but he definitely use to be.

I sincerely hope she's not Ripcord. New Warriors quickly became such an horrid book that I'd say she's better in her home, living a normal life!

Ripcord's personality doesnt match Preview at all (although this seems to be the case for the entire cast of New Warriors so far...) but I actually think the book is getting pretty good. I like how it's so tied into the bigger MU.
