On the upcoming Kubert drawn cover to GLC #18, it shows Sodam Yat versus Superboy Prime! You can see the full cover by clicking here (http://www.weeklycrisis.com/2007/10/sodam-yat-vs-superman-prime-in-glc-18.html).
Not only does it show them fighting, but it has Prime looking scared of Yat. Even as a Daxamite wiht Superman level powers and a GL ring, I don't see Prime breaking a sweat over Yat. Not even Superman really gives him a challenge. My guess is he gets the Ion treatment over the next 2 issues in order to combat Prime.

Agreed. I think it's pretty clear that Sodam Yat is being set up to become Ion before the end of the Sinestro Corp War.
As for SBP being afraid of him- SBP tends to freak out when faced with someone who can challenge him. Remember his Flash Phobia?

a Daxamite+GL Power Ring+the power of Ion yea i'm thinking he can give prime a run for his money

Looks like Sodam Yat has Superman Prime covered. Who gets the Anti-Monitor? The Fab Four (no, not the Beatles: Hal, Guy, John, and Kyle)? Hal's going to throw down with Sinestro for sure...perhaps Henshaw too?
Buried Alien (The Fastest Post Alive!)
Prime couldn't possibly loose to a lantern...sure he's a daxamite and has similar to kryptonian powers and a power ring but it just wont happen. I think this cover is for a pull readers in factor than reflecting what actualy happens in the book.
p.s. sorry im bias =P

is the prophecy coming true?
From wikipedia:
Prophecised in the Tales of the Green Lantern Corps Annual #2 by Alan Moore, a Daxamite named Sodam Yat will one day be hailed as the "ultimate Green Lantern." According to the story, he will perish battling the final catastrophe that will bury the Green Lantern Corps in the future. Sodam Yat has recently appeared as a rookie Green Lantern at the start of the The Sinestro Corps War, acting like the official Green Lantern of sector 3182.

Hope Yat pulls it off, it'd be a nice push. They need some GLs that can be threatened, unlike most of the earth ones.

I wonder where the fight will take place? Because if it's on Earth, there's a chance of Lead getting to Yat, since he is a Daxamite (although who knows, maybe the ring will protect him).

I'm pretty sure the ring would protect him from lead. Since it protects all GL from disease, and bacteria plus it allows them to function in a vacuum and allows certain species (like methane breathers and aquatic aliens) to survive outside their environment
maybe my hunch will be right and superboy's involvment in the corps war ends here. Either he'll get killed or character limbo if that happens :(
My guess is he gets the Ion treatment over the next 2 issues in order to combat Prime.
thatīs a very good theory... i liked it. :)

if we keep the main thought that all the 4 leaders of the sinestro corps are unbeatable, the history never ends... :D :D

I've been harboring the idea that when Ranx blew up, Ranx either hopped into Sodom Yat's mind and is waiting to take over. Or Sodom Yat died and a shapeshifter of some sort is taking his place - and maybe also his ring.

I was wrong. It was indeed Sodam Yat, but other prophecies included Mogo being killed by Ranx. Didn't happen, so perhaps some of what the demon said was false when it told the story to Abin Sur in that annual.

Or maybe re-writing the book of Oa has derailed the prophecy.

My guess is some of the big guns from other groups (re: JSA, JLA etc) will either take on Anti-Monitor on and/or alongside the GLC.
There's now way the GLC can do much damage to him by themselves. Thank god they're on Earth! :D
Henshaw can be dealt with by any of the "Fab Four". My guess is either Hal and/or Guy.

Wasn't it Sodol Yat?
In the original prophecy, it was Sodom Yat, as it is in the GLC book. So officially it is Sodom Yat.
BUT you are not wrong in thinking that it was originally intended to be Sodol Yat. If you read Alan Moore's proposal for the (unpublished) mega-crossover "Twilight", you'll see that he makes reference to the fact that calling him Sodom in the original script was an error by someone down the line, and that Alan Moore had originally called him Sodol.
Funnier with the Sodom/Sodamy bit, I suppose.

I think The Guardians might have to get their little blue hands dirty, they are the only ones that can stop AM from destroying the multi-verse.

Good point. I'd forgotten about the Guardians. They still owe the Anti-Monitor one for the first Crisis.

Depends on which version of Kyrptonian/Daxamite phsysiology is being used that particular day. I think the general consensus rigt now is more time in the yellow light = more power. You could argue that Sodom has spent more time in space absorbing unfilttered yellow sun radiation so his source has been more pure than Supes has been lately since more of his has come from yellow light filtered through Earth's atmosphere.

yeah, but his home planet is far from the sun. so, Supes is still stronger.
Ion + hours of exposure to the Sun + Ring = capable of defeating Prime-baby
Yggardis the Living Planet from the Forgotten Villains would be a good replacement for Ranx. He's a magic user.

Kryptonians/Daxamites absorb yellow sunlight based on their age. Since Superman is about 30-35 he can absorb and channel more energy then Sodom who is about 19-24. Therefore Superman would be stronger then Yot, but Yot would be stronger Kara because she's younger and Kingdom Come Superman would be stronger then all three. What i'm saying is the amount of time exposed to yellow sunlight doesn't determine the strength of a Daxamite/Kryptonian their age does

In the DCU the future can be changed. We all know it and have seen it. So the Guardians knowing the prophecy changed the future.

I still say the Red Lanterns show up and kick ass soon.
And as for the AM, I have no idea who stops him, but I'd guess the Green & Red Lanterns teaming up and doing something while shouting their Oaths.

There's a rumor going around (based on somthing that was shown at the conclusion of the last GL arc before the Sinestro War started) that as part of the endgame several more Corps will appear corrospoding to the Emotional Spectrum- Red, Orange, Blue, Indigo and Violet, with Green and Yellow already covered. The Red Lantern Corp is rumored to be powered by Anger and supposedly will make an appearance in 25. There are also hints that the Star Saphire Corps will be created at some point down the line (though probably not in the Sinestro Corp War arc), using the color Indigo and powered, like the original Star Saphire, by love.

Won't do any good. Post-REBIRTH, the GLs don't have the yellow weakness anymore.

Hate. The set of emotions repeatedly mentioned in John's run are hate, avarice, fear, hope, compassion, and love.
There's a duality between the two sets of emotions (hate is opposite love, etc.), with the negative emotions being warm colors and the positive emotions being cool colors.
What about death? I just read GL 4-6 and Black Hand was talking about the color of death... I'm not sure what color it was though. I think it was violet...

So the Star Saphire Corps. could be an ally of the GLC? That'd be interesting.

I too was wondering about this....maybe to just make him ubber powerful? I think it's kinda the opposite for superboy-prime...sinestro didn't give him a ring for fear of his power. I guess ino as GL isn't really a GL without the ring?

Technicaly the GLC should be the centerpoint of all the emotions, falling between the ROY "Negitive Emotions" and the BIV "Positive Emotions". Still, in the current situation, the Star Saphire corps would most likely be an ally in the fight. Who knows, the Red Lanterns could be an ally as well. Some people may realy Hate Sinestro. ;)

I'd rather see everyone go after the Corps and between Sinestro and GLC, they unify the powers into two "poles" if you will. But I like the idea of team-ups and stuff, too. I'm torn!

Um. Aren't the Star Sapphire corps mentally unstable? I mean how do you see an alliance working with a group of nutballs who don't interpret love/passion as a positive emotion, but rather as a negative, obsessive one?

Um. I'm not sure how you missed the obvious, but it's black. It's indirectly the lack of emotion, so it lacks color.

I started re-reading the Sinestro Corps stuff. In the one-shot it's mentioned that love, compassion, hope, avarice, hate, and fear in the interrogation of Cyborg Superman are the emotional spectrum. And in the earlier issues of the event, it is said that the GLC is the center point of all the feelings. Just throwing it out there for clarification.
