I can see major tension between Northstar and Empath, 'cos Empath would be feeling Northstars physical attraction to him and feels uneasy by that.
*Aurora will be insecure about her working as a hero at first, but when she sees how important it is
*Firestar will be a star, coming from a long depression Angelica feels the need to prove herself. To let people know what she's worth. Being too eager, she actually inflicts more problems on the team. But the suspense will be awesome.
*Kimura is there to raise the stakes even higher. Cos every team needs a bitch and this one is seeking revenge and redemption at the same time. She knows she did wrong, she wants to change it. But is redemption possible for this indestructible bee-ach and can she forgive Emma Frost for taking away her only happy thoughts?
*Outlaw is our comic relief, cos she loves to play the game and is good at it too. Driving both Empath and Primal wild with her booty, whilst in action. She'll be the sexy flirty one. Without all the drama... Life's a party for Outlaw, or is it??
*Primal, the one who can't look in the mirror, cos he detests himself. A skilled fighter and loyal teammate. Strikes up a good (Sam and Bobby like) friendship with Wild Child. Although he dispises him at forst ("How can you enjoy life, whe you look like that?)
*Wild Child. Loves life and respects his duty as hero. Has a major crush on Outlaw. Is the all round friend to everyone on the team.

1) Vanisher- (who has experience is the lynch-pin of a drug ring, and a thief)
2) Omerta- He wanted to take over a family in his first appearance, let’s see how he’d actually do it
3) Vincente- Hasn’t been used since early in the Generation X run. Was always a thrall being controlled by Emplate, so not necessarily a villain. A great assassin character.
4) Stacy X- get her off the streets, repower her, and let her be a madam who takes care of her ladies, unlike the X-Men did for her.
5) Pulse- steals goods and sells them on the black market. Plus, offers Mystique crossover potential.
6) Risque- Perfect for insurance scams. Can use her power to wreck buildings’ superstructures after the Entente take out policies on them.
7) Beautiful Dreamer- Sometimes, you don’t want someone able to be a witness that can testify, but killing them will create too much of a headache. Re-writing memories is her whole thing.
8) Ms. Steed (Damask in AoA)- The real brains of the group (lets Paulie believe he’s in charge, but can attack his mind rather than his body whenever she wants). Psionic weapons, immunity to telepathy, and a former Black Queen of the Hellfire Club. Nice resume.

None are being used right now, and I’d say only Ms. Steed and Vanisher are through and through villains. I’d have taken Unuscione, but Omerta’s already invulnerable, and Carmella seems to be quite content as one of the Acolytes. Also, hiring Avalanche to wreck some buildings in an insurance scam would have been an alternate to Risque, but I felt he’s too high profile, and his loyalty to the Brotherhood might take him out of the book, too. Candra could be an alternate to Damask, but she’s kind of overpowered.

I’d call them “The Entente”

They’d be a group of mutants working together who are apolitical, amoral, and uncaring about the laws of the U.S., working together not so much as the Brotherhood does in a “up with mutants” way, but in a “hey, if we pool our resources, we can make bank.” They’d have infiltrated crime families, if not muscled them out entirely. Think of them going up against the Enforcers, the Wild Pack, Black Tom & Juggernaut, Red Lotus and the Triads, X-Factor (especially with Guido as Sheriff of Mutant Town), the cast of District X (what’s left of it after M-Day, anyhow), the Kingpin, the Hood’s crew, Candra and the Thieves/Assassins’ Guilds, the Punisher… etc. If they ever get caught, give them Evangelyne Whedon as a lawyer. Just write them as anti-heroes, or flat out villains at this point. But they could also form alliances with the Hellfire Club, and the like. Might not be a bad book.

Actually, Empath is less obscure, but has more utility. Still, unless Ms. Steed can alter memories with her psionic weapons by scraping out someone's psyche (last I checked, she couldn't), then I'd stick with Beautiful Dreamer.

Im thinking of a post disaster team that needs to go into action after everyone else is either killed or captured. Probably set up by Cable in case he was ever killed for real... everyone on his team would have to be so super obscure that there would never be anyone who could connect all the dots and take them out before they could go into action.

An unknowing Lee Forrester would get the Eric The Red Armor and instructions to go to some forgotten Stryfe base that Cable rigged to activate Zero, when she enters. He would have a list of everyone else they needed to find (and also be able to get them there). First stop, Caliban (big muscle version) in order to track the rest down. Next, Fantomex (whos a sure bet to join up if paid enough.) Quick trip to space to grab Adam X (Who would have avoided anything that happened on earth and has now found out his true past as the real 3rd summers brother, Vulcan's a skrull.) They get back to earth with the vague instructions to find a telepath except known possibilities are killed or missing. They salvage some cerebra tech into Zero who confirms a vague spot on the radar. Caliban tracks down a half dead 13 year old Galen Grey who apparently survived the Shiar death squad with a Tk bubble (unskilled psychic) and has been buried under the rubble ever since.
All together they go of to unravel the mystery behind everyone's death/disappearance as x-men.

Threnody should at least be referenced in some crossover with Morbius or Blade. She's a vampire, and undead, but not. It could work, and is better than leaving her alone.

As for Madison Jeffries, I wanted him on my team so they'd have a science buff. Still, he felt out of place. (I just want Predator X to eat Madison Jeffries so that there will be the hidden message of eating Box.)

hell's-yes i was a fan! i may have been the only one reading that series but i looked forward to picking it up every month; even after the creative team change. where else could you get a Mystique who was using her powers efficiently/creatively, who was still following her own agenda while seemingly being manipulated, who was self-centered but not evil? i think the series gave me more insight into the character and allowed her to be more than just the villain-of-the-month. it's been all downhill for Raven, since then (seriously, why infiltrate the X-Men as Foxx & try to hook your daughter up w/ a complete stranger?). and 10 bucks says that she's dead and buried by the end of Messiah Complex. what a waste. i just hope that Forge and Shortpack are at her funeral.
