I'm not overly familiar of her work - more just vaguely aware of it - but having seen how a stroke can affect someone my heart bleeds for her and her family. I hope she does get better.

Is it me or did her art look best when she inked herself, like here:

I have always been a fan of both Marie Severin's fine art work, but also her sweet and friendly nature.

If any of you ever get the chance to meet her a con, trust me it's a real treat.

Here's hoping for a swift and total recovery.

Terrible news.

Marie is not only an amazingly talented cartoonist, she's also a wonderful person. Warm, smart and incredibly funny, she's like the bubbly aunt you wish you had. She's so charismatic, she could give Sergio Aragonés a run for his money.

Thanks for posting this; I've gotta get out a note to her today.

Aloha,

Scott!

Sorry to hear that one of the most important members of the Marvel Bullpen is ill. Marie is fondly remembered by any old Marvel fan as the 'clean-up batter' of the bullpen as well as a terrific artist in her own right.
She has an incredible range from caricature to goofy humor to action.
Here's hoping she's up and better very soon.

That sucks! Marie is one of comicdom's long-standing talents. I remember her work from old Hulk and Cat issues, among others. Personally, I think we've lost enough comic book talent in recent years. I hope Miss Severin pulls through, with a healthy recovery following.
