This is pretty cool. The one question that I have is what will the coloring look like in this HC? Does it get redone? I was flipping through these issues a couple of years ago and the colors were all over the place - probably more to do with the newsprint that these books were printed on at the time.

The one I was impressed with was the Time Masters TP. Between this and the recent Question TP, what 80's classic is DC going to put out next? Honestly, I don't know, but I like the possiblility to check out books I've heard were good, but came out before I could read.

In Chicago a couple of years ago, I found a dealer with a complete run of TIME MASTERS on sale for cheap. I bought it and immediately hunted down DC Veep Bob Wayne to get him to sign his work. When I did, he said it was the second TIME MASTERS he had signed that day.
It's funny how the past comes back to "haunt" us, isn't it?
-Augie, really bought it for the Art Thibert art

Is this the same issues that were in the old collection of JLI? For some reason I remembered it as 6 issues.
either way, I wish this was the first 12 issues or around that. I don't like buying thin HCs.
I will just continue to wear out the issues.
The thing I am most excited by is Crossing Midnight Volume 2. I hope that book continues to be NOT canceled.

No, that one had the same seven issues, too.
You'd sorta have to, as #6 ends on a cliffhanger.

...so effectively, this is just a hardcover of the same easy to obtain collection of the first JLI stories.
sort of pointless.
Now if they'd actually put us out of our misery and announce the *rest* of the issues collected, or some whiff of JLE, or even the out of print diaries of maxwell lord, THEN I'd be excited.

I'm assuiming that they are planning to take this series all the way through to the end of both JLA and JLE as long as it sells.
They've done it all wrong though. These stories are crying out to be released as either digests or big cheap colour phonebooks.
As it is I've got the original issues and there's no way on earth I'm going to commit myself to the cost of buying all of these stories again at these kind of prices

It's a shame that it's only a seven issue HC, and not a twelve issue one, but any port in a storm.

*BUMP*
It looks like I'm going to be adding a new set of Hardcovers to my bookshelf soon. Looking through the Amazon.com listings tonight, I noticed that they have both JLI Vol. 2 & JLI Vol. 3 on the schedule for later this year. I guess that this means that DC is committed to collecting this series?!?!
Here's the solicitation from DC for Vol. 2 (http://www.amazon.com/Justice-League-International-VOL-2/dp/1401218261/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1210571034&sr=8-2):

Anybody have any idea if the covers for Vol. 2 & 3 are new from Kevin Maguire? I don't remember these images as being covers to the original series.

Let me put a dampener on the praising of DC...
A F*&$'N YEAR for another Starman Omnibus?!?!?! Are you kidding me?!?!?
The Kirby 4th world ones came out about 1 every quarter, and that was a great schedule. Now they are releasing OMAC and following it up with the Demon and I'm psyched! Momentum is cool.
But WTF with this? I barely remember what I read from vol 1 and that was around July 4th.
FYI - I've got an interest in Morrison's INVISIBLES and emailed the Vertigo tpb department to find out if maybe with the FC popularity we'd get a Omnibus printing of that. Hell, even Marvel is reprinting his Marvel Boy and New X-Men. And the answer was a resounding NO.
Poo.

That does suck about the release schedule for STARMAN. For something that is garnering a whole lot of praise both online and in the comic shops, you would think that DC could put it out quarterly or at least semi-annually, eh?

I'm also very curious as to how they are going to collect Final Crisis. I'll admit, I'm curious. I don't, however, know if I'll understand it all because of all the ramp up things that I missed, and how much I'll miss with all the tie ins.
For anyone that's reading it - how many of the tie-ins do you think should be thrown into a FC collection???
