It's funny, but some of the nicest guests at the con were the wrestlers.
Got to meet Rob H, thanks for the pictures, Rob! And Melbourne Mew Mew asked the best questions the whole weekend, always looked forward to talking with him.
I didn't get to really SPEAK with a lot of people, which is my one gripe about the way most signings go. They're loud, and the people are standing while I'm sitting, so a lot of what is said goes right past me and sometimes I miss people I really wanted to meet.
I almost did that with Cam, who is actually this ruggedly handsome guy, very tall and friendly, but speaks very quietly...at first, I THOUGHT it was him but I didn't hear his name, later I got it right.
I did get to have a bit of tea (I was the only one who had actual TEA, though) with Cam and WhiteRose, which was one of the highlights of the trip, even though it was cut a bit short by the convention schedule wranglers. It would have been nice to have lunch or dinner or something but the handlers have all that stuff set up way in advance.
But that was great fun, and I can't wait to come back where all the Yabsers can visit for a while. WhiteRose, by the way, is a very beautiful girl, completely adorable (I envied her lovely new jacket) and both she and Cam were just delightful to talk to. I'm going to have fond memories of them both for a long long time.
I'm trying to think what else happened...we had dinner with Nicola and her husband, Jimmy and Amanda, and some local artists, who were all very nice as well. The writer of Small Gods was with us, and the artist for the upcoming Heroes book, who is immensely talented, and looks like a thinner, prettier version of the Rock. All really sweet people.
I hate to say this, but I have yet to have even one decent meal in Australia. We keep going to these places people recommend and they range from okay to really dreadful, and it's the same for nearly all of us from the States. I don't understand it. It's like we're cursed!
I'm sure it's just bad luck but it's almost creepy at this point.
But the city is beautiful especially at night and today we're off to explore!
