So this is the situation. I am looking to buy a certain someone in Australia a birthday present. I have chosen to purchase an art print by Shag, who's stuff's pretty cool.
This involves me ordering the print online, having them hold it in Sydney, getting another friend to drop round and pick it up and then delivering to its intended.
Seems overly involved even to me.
I don't know folks - any of you done something a bit out there for someone's birthday?

Not a Birthday Prezzie, but an X-mas one:
saw something at the Armadillo Christmas Bazzar, but Nick was with us, and WOULD NOT LEAVE MY SIDE.
had my friend Russell act as a distraction (to keep Nick from looking in that direction), while I excused myself to pee
I picked out what I wanted, asked the dealer to hold it for me, paid for it, had the dealer wrap it up (these are all one of a kind things), and then rushed back to Nick and my friends -- where I explained I had to take a shit and that's what took so long. . yeah, I said that to my friends.
after the Bazzar, we went to a burger place for lunch and beers.
a couple of hours later, we finally made it home. This was before we bought our house, so Nick dropped me back at my place, and I immediately had to hop in my car and head back downtown to pick up the prezzie.
then there was the time I bought him a Bar-b-Que grill (also for an Xmas prezzie), when it was on sale in October.
I had to basically go to Nick's house and say -- give me the keys to your Envoy -- NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Since it wouldn't come close to fitting in my car.
go to the store, pick up the grill. . bring it to MY house (struggling like mad to get it inside, as the box was HUGE *and* heavy, and I was alone), driving back to Nick's, getting my car back. . and then going home and having to disguise this huge box in the middle of my living room for 3 months. (I had two sheets over it, and loaded the top of it w/ Comic books.
Nick had no idea what it was, but love it, when he finally got to open it :)
